Wonderful human being, love him, best American I know, who else is that alive?! Do these students know how lucky they are to experience Oliver Stone in person? He is so aware of history, talks about that battle in Vietnam as if it was yesterday. And fully in the present at the same time. He will turn 70 on September 15. What a life he has had! Full of admiration, ever since I knew of him (JFK, 1992). Courageous like hardly any other director. In spite of massive resistance, character assassination and criticism to no end. A role model. Thanks fo much for posting this interview!

Universities aren't filled with brilliant minds. They are filled with slightly below average to slightly above average minds of people that think if enough money is paid to an educational business for a diploma the end product will be the brilliance of the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz. Unfortunately, their dreams of wisdom and fortune are offset by decades of student loan payments.
1Howdy1 I agree. Those who excel at school, are those who are able to remember and repeat. University's are filled with those who are able to do that to a high standard. Not necessarily those capable of individual ways of thinking, because that's a difficult thing to gauge or fit into the narrow trajectory that has been prepared for them.
I disagree with him on many issues, but I have great respect for him regardless. He is a gentleman and a good man, concerned for the world and for his country.
In 1990 Kevin Costner was offered the lead in a film that needed a big star to get the studio financing, but Costner turned it down because he had been working three years straight and needed a break.
University used to inspire independent thinking. Now, all college students sound like ditto-heads
It's just a myth that Oxford has brilliant minds.
Costner's wife, Cindy Silva, read the script and realized its importance and told her husband, "This film has to be made." The film was JFK by Oliver Stone. Thank you, Cindy Silva.
Lol ! Needed a big star to produce a farce !
I've ALways loved OliverStone, he knows what he makes, produces and directs; He knows what he speaks of which sadly few others do! Fantasy is for fools&wannabe dreamers EXPERIENCE MATTERS it cannot be made up!
