A few weeks ago, I walked into a restaurant and I was so surprised, as he was sitting right at the table across from me. On his way out he took a picture with me. He's such a class act. Very dignified and just like in the movies. He's got that cool super star vibe without having to try. ❤

I worked on a film with him for months - a very nice, down to earth, low maintenance professional - one day while filming on location - they rented a house in a community for weeks - well the neighbor was cutting wood with a power saw and the sound guy was picking it up during takes while filming inside the house - the AD and line producer went next door telling the neighbor about the sound issue - the neighbor refused to stop - finally Richard went to see the man - he went alone by himself - talked to the neighbor and he stopped so we could finish filming the scene.

Richard Gere is my favorite actor. I have followed his career since 1980 when my cousin, who worked at the local movie theater, snuck me in to watch American Gigolo. I was 14. He has the kindest, most beautiful soul. It is also because of him that I become a Buddhist. I figured that if an actor in Hollywood could find peace and solace in that crazy world through Buddhism, then perhaps I could too... And I have. Thank you, Richard for a lifetime of great movies and films and for showing me the way to peace.
Because he is a practising Buddhist there was a funny incident where he flew into our country and was on the same plane as The Dalai Lama. All these Nepalese didn't recognize Gere and almost knocked him over to greet thr Dalai Lama.......I would have been the other way around and would have knocked over The Dalai Lama to greet Richard Gere.

One of the greatest scenes in film is the scene from “An Officer And A Gentleman” when Sgt. Foley finally breaks Zack… “Because I Got Nowhere Else To Go”!

The most charming of men ever since An Officer and a Gentleman...he started the sexiest play in film; holding a woman's face while kissing, and who doesn't remember him choosing wardrobe in American Gigolo. AND no one has 'that walk' like he does ❤️ amazing human being and actor.

Can't think of Richard Gere without thinking of AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN, the first of his movies I ever watched like a zillion times and I've never gotten tired of watching it.
I saw it the first day it was released in midtown Manhattan with this lady, twice my age (22-43) I was dating at the time and who yrs later I learned got stabbed and killed by her own daughter.
Never knew what the argument was about but I guess it had something to do with her daughter being high on something.
Every time I see Richard Gere I think of AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN and by extension my old friend.

Forgive me Richard for my words about 'An official and a gentleman', I was wrong. A big huge for you and yours.
Not sure I could handle a 35 year age difference with my spouse, 15 years would be about my cap I would think. Its not about looks, its about sharing life and being able to have experiences together, hard to go on a hike, climb to the top of a lighthouse, or go out on a snowmobile at 50 with an 85 year old spouse. And I mean to each their own, but jesus, having a toddler at 75 is crazy.
