  • Steamed Sea Bass is a buttery and flakey fish. ♥ In today's recipe we'll be cooking a steamed Sea Bass in a simple Soy & Ginger sauce. With this 15 minute cooking technique you'll be able to make an Asian style steamed fish (Chinese Style) with any fish of your choice. If you're a beginner chef, I recommend trying it with Sea Bass first because this white fatty fish is hard to overcook. ♥ Subscribe for more of Angel's videos → bit.ly/1HbtZaI (continued . . . )

    Who else loves Sea Bass? It's my 2nd fav fish.....because raw sushi is just a tiny bit better.😅 🍣. Love you guys 😘

      Thanks for this video, as always. But how do we tell if it's a good piece of fish? There's no eyes to see if it's clear on a filet. Do you know how to make the one with mayo and I think it's steamed in paper? Had it once in a restaurant and never forgot it.

    Traditionally you would steam a whole fish and discard the liquid coming out from the fish because it’s bitter and taste bad. You would then pour on the oil and sauce steaming hot onto the fish. That’s how I steam my fish.

      I totally agree. Her method is good for westerners 🤣🤣🤣. Asian mums will frown upon her method though

      Do you steam the fish with the ginger and onion or do put that on after the fish is steamed?

    • @zhaf
      @zhaf 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@daniellenagy6678 You steam it with ginger. You put on raw shredded spring onion after the steaming but before you pour on the hot oil and sauce. Like this. th-cam.com/video/dUyw0V7X1tg/w-d-xo.html

    WOW!!! I just made this, this evening and it is so incredibly delicious 😋.... and easy! Perhaps I steamed longer than needed as it wasn't as buttery in texture as you described yours to be, but still delightful with the perfectly balanced sauce. I'm cutting on carbs so didn't have rice with this dish, but I would've loved to drizzle the sauce over rice. Thanks for posting this recipe! 🥰

    Looks delicious. We made fish dish that has vinegar, garlic, onion, and ginger. I love all fish and seafood except for catfish and larger prawns. My favorite though is tuyo which is Filipino dried herring. It stinks while it's being cooked but it's so delicious. I mostly eat trout as it's what we can catch locally. I enjoyed milk fish when I visit my relatives in the Philippines.

    Thank you so much for this recipe. You just took me down memory lane with this. As a younger man I lived in NYC and one of my favorite things to do was to go to Chinatown in Manhattan. I was lucky enough to have a friend who was born in Hong Kong and took me to all the restaurants that Chinese people went to. No tourist in this place. The whole Steamed Sea Bass was a must. They used a smaller whole fish and the waiter used 2 table spoons to fillet the Bass after they poured the 🔥 Hot oil over the fish. I don't remember cilantro. I miss NYC and authentic Chinese food.

    Sea bass, like most fish, is difficult to get where I live. We're nowhere near water, so fresh fish isn't available at all, and only really common fish are available frozen.
