I love his reaction to the 22" crash each time he hits it! These are the best product demos on TH-cam because they're done with incredible audio and video quality and feature an amazing drummer who plays tastefully, hits with excellent technique, and genuinely is excited about drums and cymbals

This is the best cymbal demo I've ever seen. Every cymbal in the new line played in a variety of styles with a variety of different sticks (including ones I use frequently such as brushes and the Steve Smith tala wands), and then a comparison between other similar crash cymbals. I've never been too specific with which brands I like and I play a bunch of brands for drums, hardware, sticks and heads, but Sabian has always been my favorite and only choice for cymbals, and Nick's face at 2:56 just goes to show how good these ones sound. Thanks for making a fantastic video, can't wait to see these cymbals along with the AAX Unbound cymbals at PASIC this year (and maybe see Sweetwater there as well).
Also, "butterier" doesn't get autocorrected, so I guess it's a word!!

That ride reminded me a lot of the HHX Groove Ride with a bit more shimmery wash, and I use that ride in a metal/hard rock setting just fine and it totally stands on it's own next to guiar half stacks and a bass cabinet. It's all in what sound is in your head and finding the cymal that closet matches that.

I know I'm a little late to the party here, but I recently added a few cymbals from the Complex lineup into my setup, and I can say with full confidence, they're easily the best drumming purchase(s) I've ever made. The 22" Thin Crash is a beast, and probably the best cymbal I've ever played. I've also added the 22" Thin Ride, and 23" Medium Ride, with the former taking on the role of my left crash, while the latter plays the role of a more traditional ride. Sadly though, these two models were not shown in this video.

Brian Funchess Soumds like you need a Zildjian K Custom Fast Crash. Not sure what the equivalent Sabian would be. The Fast Crash explodes and dies out quick. It’s not dry and no trash. Just a clean fast crash.

Now hopefully the HHX evolution and legacy will have a drop on price, so I could finally afford them!

The cymbals sound good. The new scribbled logo is a deal breaker. Can Sweetwater remove the logo if we order one?

you can remove the logo. but for a good sounding cymbal i don't care if it's pink, i'll put it on my kit. ...well, maybe i'd color it with a sharpie 😂

I don't like the new logo, but neither do the ancient, anyway. In general I don't like big logos, like Meinl's or Paiste's, but if they have to be there, I prefer some "classier" (imho) font, like Zildjian's. Anyway, it doesn't change the fact that these are great cymbals (like the other brands I mentioned and some others). I wouldn't let the logo to be a factor that drives me to buy or not a cymbal... You can easily remove it yourself, anyway, if that's something that drives your nuts...

I have been a Sabian fan all along. Not sure where some of the disdain for them comes from but I have loved the AAX and HHX from first hit. I think Zildjian has lost their way a bit. Still a great cymbal company but IMHO Sabian is making some great instruments.

Did anyone else notice how the 22" ride at 5:14 is perfectly "tuned" to an F# major chord? (you might need headphones)
