The groove, as well as the opening and ending title styles are no creative. You've copied the style of Paiste Cymbal Morph video which has been performed by Josh Devine, drummer of One Direction. It seems that you've played too rushy and too quickly, so I can't pay attention clearly to the differences of all series. Because of this, I am getting tired and dizzy to hear it especially for the part when you hit the crashes several times (riding the crashes) and therefore... all those rides and crashes feel the same.
Better slow down a little bit just like Jared's demo here. Because he's playing pretty clear, I can spot the differences. th-cam.com/video/KlFd-2hEDXw/w-d-xo.html

Just my opinion, but the older zbt's just suck!!! Maybe the new ones are better...they look more like the ZHT's (which are discontinued). The S series hats and crashes sound pretty good and will pass in most situations. The S ride (that my friend has) has an extremely annoying overtone that simply offends my ears and doesn't blend musically with any genre of music that I play.
with me is the A costume and S series that suits my taste .... i even have the cymbal package with the Zildjian S series with 16,18, 20 and hi-hat .... these are some really good cymbals ... .have also tried the K series ... but it's too dark for me.
@@majastergaard5596 I was not a fan of K Zildjians when I first started drumming, but they've become some of my favorite cymbals over the years. I do dig A Customs, and Zildjian did a great job on making the budget "S Series" sound good.
I just got my Zildjian S series today. They sound great, but the 18 inch crash is just a little dry, but I know it'll grow on me because they sound amazing.
so tired of cymbal demo vids where the player forgets the cymbal sound is the focus and starts jaggin' off all around the kit. Nicely done vid...clean, straight up, you let every cymbal do it's thing! Well done, Tobias...Thanks!!!
Please give me some examples of cheaper/better options. I'm an old dog getting back in after 15 years. Looking at the A Custom cymbal pack, but I have an open mind.
The first 4 sets of K series crashes are the best sounding crashes in the business. It's like the initial harshness of a crash is gone, and you get just the sweet tone of the cymbal. So smooth to the ear.
After reviewing it again my greatest challenge is we get told that not everything which sound crisp and good is good for studio,e.g ZBT's sound great but you'll never see Musicians using it except beginners
True that. They don't at all bruh, they sound like trash cans which I don't want my cymbals to sound because I'll be like why the hell it sounds like that.
Just bought all new set of S series as I have been playing since I was 5 but have no desire to play gigs or professionally. I think all around for the money and sound they are a great setup. I do recommend if you get the set also buy the 14 inch thin crash for more options. Great video and cymbals in my opinion are a drummers preference, there’s no right or wrong just depends on the player. Keep rocking everyone.
I thought the A ride was surprisingly weak. As was the Kerope and K. Zildjian at the end. Lots of good choices there thanks so much for doing this video!
First off, very good video. My preference are Zildjian A's. To me, these have the quintessential sound that all cymbals are judged against. For the most part, Zildjian A's define how great cymbals should sound and is all I've ever used, although have played many others but own nothing other than A's.
Yup a full set of everything A would never be a mistake. For me I like the K hats a little more though. And if you get a chance listen to the 21" K sweet ride or a regular 22" K ride just amazing.
Spoder Man for the crash I like the k custom hybrid but for some reason I like the k high hats better...still can't pick out a ride 14 inch k high hats (used to use a custom 14inch) 18 inch a medium thin crash 16 inch a custom crash 19 inch k custom hybrid crash 20 inch a custom ride
Great comparison - the standard Ks to me are the best. I have a set and they have the perfect balance of articulation and build without the getting out of control.
When I first saw this video, I though that the A customs were my favorite. However, those are my favorite by looks as well (love the brilliant finish) and so I hypothesized that maybe I had unconscious bias towards the sound quality. So, on another day, I listened to them without watching, and looked at what the set was after he played them. Turns out, when I can’t see them (so truly off of sound), K series is definitely my favorite!
Well done Tobias!...this is a fantastic Zildjian demonstration video easily the best that I have seen on line!...as a long, long time, drummer I have to say that nearly all cymbal company demonstration videos are disappointing, including Zildjians', as are most shop demonstration that are posting on line...you have done what almost no one else does in that you have gone through the whole Zildjian series, played standardized grooves on, identical layouts, with almost the same size cymbals amongst the different series... well done you...I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to more of your video demo's...Oh and this is by no means an after thought, but love your playing too!
Thanks a lot Tobias for your time and effort to make this comparison video. Very useful. Some of the series of cymbals are designed for softer music like jazz and blues. Hope you make another video playing jazz so that we can hear the tiny details for which K's, Armand, Constanipole etc are designed for. Much love from India. Keep it up.
they all sound good, obviously, but i'm partial to the new Avedis line. also, the ZBT's and the S Series sound excellent here (i've noticed that about some of the cheaper lines from all the companies- they sound pretty damn good when recorded)
Yeah, i have an old 18" Sabian Xs20 Medium Crash (natural finish) that sounds just amazing recorded! Cymbal companies should start researching what is it that makes a cymbal sound great recorded and start making actual "studio" lines, specifically for recording purpose.
+seitsen in 2002 i recorded an album using a full set of Sabian B8's (i'm a Paiste guy, but that's what i had access to then). they sounded ok at rehearsal, no real issues, just ok. but to this day, they're the best cymbal sound i ever got on tape. and it wasn't some amazing studio, it was an empty supply room at a courier company. so, yeah, there's something about low-mid range cymbals that record like a dream
I clicked on this to see what modern series was close to the Zildjians I have recorded with since '67- before they had any names...!!! Just size and weight- couldn't really tell- but then again- it is more about the sound of the tip of the stick on the ride .
Ehhh the only decent sound s cymbals in my opinion are the trash crashes and the regular 14” hats. The crashes and the rides are meh sounding at least to my ears, they have that annoying clingy high pitched over tones that paiste 2002s have
Sound like Paiste 2002's you say? Hmmm, aren't those the newer version of what John Bonham used? Interesting since his sound is EPIC. They would be a great and less expensive alternative to achieving the John Bonham sound. Hmmm, I'll have to take a closer listen. Thanks for the comparison :-)
Sfm Dude, you’re so wrong. Do you even listen to Led Zeppelin? His cymbals are not dark. No one used dark cymbals when playing loud rock music back in the 60’s and 70’s. Dark cymbals don’t cut enough for such music 😂. But nice try. John Bonham played Giant Beats, which later became the 2002’s. They just recently brought the Giant Beats name back from the grave via popular demand. But they are practically identical. Research it.
@@mujiwaranojerry Yup that is always the problem with darks annd drys. There not good general purpose cymbals. The sound of them is good but it is to quiet for most applications.
@@ryanewalters but I notice my ride it's a k medium custom not a k dark custom. And another bad point it's the sustain it's little bit annoying. But listend the k custom dark sound great.
Those Zildjians sound fantastic..and im a Paiste guy going way back .but originally a Zildjian guy waaay back.. When i was about 13-14..before Paiste really hit the bigtime market in about 1976-77.. But nowadays its hard to choose between the two.. Cymbals for every genre and application
A question for Nils Lesser. Do all the mics have just a simple low cut or there's more to it, like different eq cuts for difference resonances here and there?
I found the K Custom Dark Cymbals to sound the best with the K lights, A Avedis, and the Constantinople cymbals coming in a tie for second place. I really dislike the bell on the Kerope ride though.
Well, it's really not meant to be played like that. It's a jazz cymbal, not a rock cymbal with clanging bell. The bell on those is very small and flat, meant to control the spread and wash of the cymbal. I wish he would have actually played that ride because it really is a nice cymbal when used for what it is made for.
I felt the same and not only about the Keropes... the Cons and the new Avedis also didn't show their true value with that rock beat, but for the comparison purpose that's ok! As the A Heavy in the hands of a jazz guy probably would sound weird too, hehe!
Fantastic comparison video, and very clever what he played as you very quickly got to hear about every variance you want to hear on each cymbal... fantastic ! K darks were my 1st choice...
in the end it comes down to the genre of music you're playing i guess. but the A custom crashes always have stood out to me as sounding the best of any crash on the market. they sound so rich and aggressive. close to perfection.
not at all..........this guy is a basher......and a heavy hitter...that series was designed with the more physical music in mind......so its shining in its preferred environment.....i was thinking the same
ZBT was my first set, they sound like shit and break easily. You get zero range of tones, perhaps this video has a lot of sound compression...and I expect that shitty sound for the price.
Thanks so much for appreciating what I do! Don't forget to subscribe & please THUMBS UP the video!

You are amazing Dude!!!! I don't want to stop listening....I am swinging in my seat!!!!
I think the A series is the best sounding
Logan Swank me too.
For me A custom
Logan Swank I agree with you. So many to pick from. A Series are very versatile
Which hi-hat did he used in this video in A Cimbals???
yes, A series are all-around cymbals,....you can play any music on them :)
THIS is the snare sound I have been looking for! Perfect!
Really I get surprised by the zbt series. I did considered that it was a ecnomic line, but sounds great.,
That Kerope ride shall haunt my tone dreams forever. Beautiful.
Zildjian K Custom Dark \m/
Those Zildjians sound fantastic..and im a Paiste guy going way back .but originally a Zildjian guy waaay back.. When i was about 13-14..before Paiste really hit the bigtime market in about 1976-77..
But nowadays its hard to choose between the two.. Cymbals for every genre and application
A question for Nils Lesser.
Do all the mics have just a simple low cut or there's more to it, like different eq cuts for difference resonances here and there?
Ma Christianairte, com'è possibile che ti trovo ovunque? Mannaggiattè! (semicit.)

Eh, ma ci hai messo 4 anni per trovarmi qui :D
Io avoja ad aspettare! :D:D
Perfect cymbal showcase. Great job! K dark for me!
I found the K Custom Dark Cymbals to sound the best with the K lights, A Avedis, and the Constantinople cymbals coming in a tie for second place. I really dislike the bell on the Kerope ride though.
yes that bell sounds like hell
3:47 Wtf when he's playing the ride you can hear a crash being hit when he's not hitting any?
HE IS MATCHING 2 VIDEO CLIPS
in the end it comes down to the genre of music you're playing i guess. but the A custom crashes always have stood out to me as sounding the best of any crash on the market. they sound so rich and aggressive. close to perfection.
is it weird that I really like ZBT ride ?
not at all..........this guy is a basher......and a heavy hitter...that series was designed with the more physical music in mind......so its shining in its preferred environment.....i was thinking the same
ZBT 22 inch rides also feel great to play
Blackie Mesa not my favorite ride but yeah it sounds great. Especially for a cymbal that cheap
Trust me when I say ZBT rides in person sound brighter than the sun. It's bad.
ZBT was my first set, they sound like shit and break easily. You get zero range of tones, perhaps this video has a lot of sound compression...and I expect that shitty sound for the price.
I’m about to get the A custom box set and the A custom 18’’ China. Yay or nay ? Let’s hear it.
S cymbals are so good for the money.
