As a Christian who left Islam, a safe rule I follow when someone presents such arguments is for me to ask myself “does this sound more or less like Islam?” The closer it sounds to Islam, the more I’m likely to ascribe it to carnality or Satan.
That's such a terrible, inconsistent standard. 😂Yes, Islam was founded by Muhammad(influenced by Satan) but that doesn't mean everything a muslim does is wrong. That's like saying giving alms to the poor is carnal.
@@ajjacob6791 He didn't say that everything any Muslim does is automatically wrong. He said he asks himself if something sounds like Islam (which is itself always wrong, except when it borrows from Christianity or Judaism). BIG difference.
I did marry a woman with a past. She married a man with a past. We gave our lives to Jesus. We're told that my body belongs to her and her body belongs to me. It wasn't plural. We thrive in our marriage and in life. Because God is first.
You body doesn't belong to her. She has a right to sexual access to your body. She has no right to prohibit you from taking additional wives. That's not found anywhere in scripture.

I tuned into Rob many years ago before he became “the polygamy guy.” He has a history of struggling with sexual sin during his earlier TH-cam days he was known as the guy who gave up masturbation and was documenting his journey of celibacy. Back then he was waiting for the 1 woman God had for him but He also believed he received a word from God about a woman being his spouse, but then that woman went on to marry someone else but he never let go of that belief. From what I remember(it was many years ago so forgive me if I’m mistaken) she got divorced/separated and they got together for a while but I think that relationship ended and then there were a series of videos he made admitting to failing in his celibacy. I tuned into this video not expecting to see that this was the same guy. It’s really sad to see that he hadn’t been delivered from listening to seducing spirits and has completely abandoned the one who would give his soul relief. While there’s life there’s still hope. Christians let Jesus heal your wounds; let him heal your heart from those disappointments, learn real love from our master and the lover of our souls. ❤

I remember one time I was walking out of the hospital I work at, and this random man walked up to me and asked me if I was a doctor. When I said yes (while walking away because he made me feel unsafe from the beginning) he pulled my arm to stop me and dead serious went like "I was wondering if you would like to join the family im going to make. You would have to leave your work to only tend to me, our children and your wife sisters but I'll provide for all of you as God commands" When I tell you Ive never ran faster to get into my car in my life, I mean it. I later found out he was a runaway from the psychiatric wing of the hospital. This dude gives me the exact same gut run away and hide feeling I had back then.

Another important factor to this discussion is the impact on children. If a man has several wives and many kids, there is no way those children will receive the attention from their father that they need/desire. This has proven to cause many problems cognitively, behaviorally, and even lead to greater issues down the road.
So how many children should one man be allowed to have then? At what point do you want forced Abortion and Sterilization? Because the cause of the problem has little to do with man and more to do with the government giving women the tools to rule over their children father. G-D told us to be fruitful and multiply and that a women’s desire would be her husband and he will rule over her.

I’ve been going through a really hard time lately where I’ve felt so heartbroken and sadness and hopelessness. I’ve been so disappointed and crushed with all my hopes and loyalty and dedication to my boyfriend. I’ve been in a relationship that has meant so much to me for about three or more years. I left college, moved with him three times and have been living with him. I’ve wanted his love and commitment so badly. I’ve been wanting to move forward for so long and had serious conversations about how I value marriage and commitment and I’m ready to. And that I love him with all of my heart and he is my number one priority always. His goals and everything that had every affected him I want to be there for him to support and nurture him. I’ve wanted to move forward in plans for our future so badly. I have cherished every moment so deeply like a best friend and we have made so many memories together. Some things are coming between us that I would have to sacrifice and compromise for and it is polygamy and his rights to sexual freedom and all kinds of intimacy causally or seriously. I know it would hurt me my entire life but he seems immovable on it. I am so sad right now. And I think I was deceived or mislead and that eachother and our relationship meant more to me than it did to him. Im still so attached and feel horrible. I love him so much. His family beliefs are complicated and he’s started to not believe in the scriptures and he believes in polygamy and because he’s studied philosophy, he’s come to value his own self development and his own desires and will over our relationship or over anything and anyone. He views marriage as unneeded and mainly procreating together. And that it is natural for men to be polygamist and women to want men that are the top man. I feel that after so much I have served him everyday and my deep love for him, this is hurting so badly. It has been the deepest pain I’ve ever felt thinking of how all his behaviors would affect me.
I’m a 32-year-old man with one wife 😊 and four precious kids, serving in full time church ministry. One of my best friends from high school, an avid Bible reader who I genuinely believe wants to follow God and do what’s right, has been completely taken in with Rob’s stuff and posts on the daily about polygyny, sharing Rob’s stuff all the time. I and several other of his family and friends who care for him have tried reasoning with him extensively, but were always wrong and Rob and him are right…it’s sad to watch, and sometimes in the thick of discussing with him, I’m at my wits end. I know he’s in error, but nothing I say seems to make any difference and I don’t know what else to say. Thank you, Mike, for addressing this even just to remind me that I’m not crazy and there are solid logical reasons to ignore this stuff.
I really don’t care what the people in this video have to say about anything. But what I do know is G-D have never condemned a man for being married regardless of the amount of wife/wives he has plain and simple. But I also know believers are warned in the Bible of a time when the church will restrict believers from marriage and food that G-D has aloud. Like I said I don’t care what the two people in this video have to say. I care what G-D has to say about how he wants things.

@@thecompoundingschool6480 That story is a parable about the Kingdom of Heaven, illustrating the need for the Church, Christ’s bride, to be prepared for His return. Talmudic authorities have mentioned that bridal processions typically had ten lamps, making ten a common size for a wedding party. The virgins in the parable symbolize purity and faithfulness, representing those who keep themselves ready for the arrival of their groom. In the parable, five were prepared, and five were not, emphasizing that not everyone who identifies as Christian or claims a relationship with God will be saved. The key point is preparedness, not polygamy, as our relationship with God is spiritual, not sexual. Context is crucial for understanding the meaning of this parable. Matt 25:1-13 At that time the kingdom of heaven will be LIKE ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’” Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’ “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’ But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’ “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’ “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

As a Christian man, I'd lie if I told you I didn't find the idea of multiple wives attractive. But you're right Mike. I only want multiple wives because I'm lustfull. It's a lowly desire. I think society would be a worse place to live if polygamy was the norm. God made us one man and one woman!
As a woman I find it hilarious that he thinks women don't want to sleep with multiple people too! My flesh would only want polygamy if I got a wide range of sex too! Thankfully I value my relationship with God and I know better than to justify my sexual desires as holy.
I was married to a "Christian" man who believed in polygamy. He never told me that before the marriage & I never thought to ask. When he did tell me, I refused to him bringing other women into our marriage, & so it caused a LOT of degradation for me, a lot of stress & arguments. He was also a selfish narcissist who had no control over his impulses. It was a disaster! When I hear this guy, I'd like to warn men and women to RUN.😮
He was not a Christian. He was self centered and seeking to satisfy his carnality rather than practice the fruit of the spirit. We will know them by their fruits.
@bibleisholy7170 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery. (Mathew 19:8-9) If it's ok to have multiple wives, how could this be considered adultry. Some sins are worse than others, God would of rathered polygamy over David killing someone for his wife. Also polygamy is the cause of many of King David's troubles amongst his family. David is a terrible example as a good family man as his sons murder one another, rape their half sister, have sex with his wives and try to overthrow their father.
Hmm I do wonder which is worse, this or promiscuity, but what do u mean by "dangerous eternal consequences"? In the truest sense all sin has dangerous eternal consequences, none of which by doing them makes someone go to hell, except unbelief.
39:40 Mike, speaking as a woman, if my husband espoused these ideas (pun intended), I would claw his eyes out. I waited for marriage. No man asked me out until I was 25. I've never met a man who didn't practise or defend polygamy for his ego and/or his lust. Why would any woman want to be with a man whose mindset is "How can I find a way to sleep with more than one woman and stay married"? They share this same exact mindset with good old cheaters and liars, yet think they think so highly of themselves. They also think it is a woman's obligation to share a life partner at the expense of her own marriage. In a nutshell, men should be able to eat their cake and have it, too, while women should compromise any love, affection, care, help and attention for the man to get all of those manyfold. The woman gets, say, 25% and the man gets 400%. But it's selfish for a woman to not want to share and totally not selfish and unloving for the man to expect the woman to share. Ridiculous
@@ColourCrazy Well, I would typically agree. For instance Calvinists love to clamor around and declare anyone who disagrees with them as a worker of iniquity and “very clearly unsaved and not of the elect!” But, in this case, I would argue that Rob uses Christianity as a justification and a device to deceive others into believing what he thinks is okay is Gods word, when it is in fact, not. In the most literal sense he’s a deceiver. I’d say it’s pretty definitive that you can’t claim to be a Christian, lead a life that is an affront to gods vision for marriage, and knowingly deceiving others for your own agenda, and still be saved. Of course he can repent and BE SAVED, but it’s clear he’s not open to that with how he responded to Mikes very loving rebuke.
So many of his arguments revolve around fulfilling desires. Desires, for him, are intrinsically good, because "God made me this way". The "Christian" LGBTQ movement uses similar logic. The Bible consistently teaches the opposite about our desires. We are intrinsically evil after the Fall.
A desire for a wife, to be fruitful and multiply, is never a desire we are called to crush. That's how we got gnostic heresies. Are you going to kill your desire to eat or drink food too?
@@BibleMarriagesYes, there are times when I do. It’s called fasting. Some people live a life of regular fasting. God crushes many good desires when we prop them up as idols.
@@ericaloveskorea Sometimes men and women abstain from sexual relations with each other as Paul described for a time of fasting and prayer... Then he tells them to come back together quickly and give the enemy no opportunity. When you're done fasting do you not feast?
@BibleMarriages That's fair, I overgeneralized in my initial comment. I would correct that to say that our hearts are corrupt, which is a more biblical position, and our desires are driven by our hearts, so they are more subject to that potential corruption. Therefore, we must always be on guard when seeking to fulfill a desire to ensure that we are honoring God and not ourselves. In this guy's case, he uses the existence of a desire to argue for its inherent righteousness.
@@BibleMarriagesthat has nothing to do with allowing polygamy. In fact those same verses say that women don't you know that your body is not your own but your husband's and husband don't you know your body is not your own but your wives. How can this be with multiple wives? How can you and your husband become one flesh when the husband is giving part of himself to another women?
And Mike your point on how women who are actually smart, biblical, pure etc are actually repelled by this type of thinking is 100% it always cracks me up when they say women dont care if men have slept around but men do care if women slept around. When i know from first hand that as a virgin before i met my husband; one of the main things I wanted in a man was also purity or as close to it as possible !! (With todays society) And thankfully im married to a man who has only slept with one woman before me. Wouldve prefered hed been a virgin too. But defffff wouldve NEVER gotten with a man who has been ran through. The logic that women dont care about men's body count only applies to women who have insane body counts. But to women who have held on to their purity- TRUST ME , THEY CARE if youve had self control or not.
Same sentiments as you, I feel like my sense of self respect and worth would have to be in the garbage before I see a promiscuous (and proud of it) man and think that was the kind of man that I wanted. The only way these kind of men attract good women, is if they hide that they are the community dildo. the other comment is apparently a fan boy, or Rob himself.

Yeah, these “alpha male” wannabes always whine about the lack of virtuous women, not realizing that the way they talk and act repels the very women they claim to want to attract. They only run into women that sleep around and solely want a guy because he is tall and makes a high income, because virtuous women aren’t interested in being with a guy like them. You can spot these guys a mile away, and a good woman won’t even bother with them.
Mike does a GREAT job taking topics almost all Christians know are wrong, but they don't know "why" it's wrong (Because most Christians don't go around thinking about obscure topics like this on the regular). Mike takes what we all know is wrong and puts facts and data behind it from the bible so we are all equipped to deal with these people if we ever come across them in our lives.
No facts... He refuses to harmonize the whole bible. Christ would be a false prophet if he taught what Mike wants to claim he was teaching... Christ never deviate from the Torah or he would be disqualified....
"many women would rather share an alpha male than have a beta all to themselves." Not only do I not know a single woman who thinks in terms of alpha/beta, I don't know a single woman willing to share their significant other.
The women I know of who have gotten into polygamy only did so through force or because they had beliefs that established them so far below men that they didn't have any clear way out. They had no way to say "no" without a LOT of suffering. These women are so broken.

(which one wasn't righteous?) Psalm 119:142 Your righteousness is everlasting and your law is true. Who is the Word of God made flesh: Revelation 19:13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. Is it possible to do violence to his torah? Yes - and "believers" have done violence to his torah many times in the past: Ezekiel 22:26 Her priests do violence to my torah. Zephaniah 3:4 they do violence to the torah. Mark 7:13 And so you cancel the word of God in order to hand down your own tradition. And this is only one example among many others. They also physically did violence to the Word of God - by having him crucified. .... So show them the Word of YAH where the Creator blesses men with polygyny. He blessed Jacob's wife for finding Jacob an additional wife. The Creator chose polygyny to start the 12 tribes of Israel. His torah allows polygyny. Jesus himself described himself marrying 5 virgins. And then ask them - is this Word of YAH perfect? Is it an everlasting righteousness? Are the Creator's Way just and true? Yes or No. If they say - "NO" - they need to understand they are grabbing whip and striking Jesus (YAHUSHUA the Messiah) on the back. Because that's what the Creator says - they do "VIOLENCE" to my torah. And the walking Word of God is the Salvation of YAH - the one who paid the price for our lawlessness, so we can be cleansed clean by his Word and walking according to the Ways of the Creator. If they try to use Paul - ask them - are you saying Paul was teaching darkness? For it's written: Isaiah 8:20 Look to the torah and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark. Or perhaps - as Apostle Peter warned - his letters are easily twisted by the un-learned - to their own destruction? End of the day - is Heaven and Earth still here? If yes - according to Yahushua the Messiah (Jesus) the torah has not been done away with. It is easier for heaven and earth to pass than the smallest iota to drop from the torah. Then ask them - are you bearing false witness against your Salvation? The one who paid the price and suffered for your lawlessness. Are you calling him a LIAR? Then inform them - that many many that call him Lord and casted out demons in his name - will not make it. Due to lawlessness. What is lawlessness. 1 John 3:4. It's transgression of the torah. To add or take (including polygyny) is sin.

My ghasts are FLABBERED!!!! Every single one of his “points” are not only, very clearly, contradictory to HIMSELF. But they completely falter by one thing alone. God calls us to practice self control…not only is it a fruit of the spirit, but EVERYTHING about a relationship with God is honed through self control. The moment you choose to submit yourself to Christ, you choose a life of self control. To die to SELF, and pursue God’s commandments. Not a twisted view of pleasure, but a disciplined adherence to what GOD calls good.
Just stirring the pot a bit. I do not advocate for polygamy and am a monogamous married man but . . . as bad as polygamy is it is not so bad that God would not essentially call Himself a polygamous albeit in metaphor. Jeremiah 3:6-10 has The Almighty "married" to Israel AND Judah and it speaks of their unfaithfulness. It calls their idolatry "adultery" and the word "divorce" is used. It even uses the word "sister" which would mean God is "breaking" Leviticus 18:18 by "marrying" sisters. Keep in mind Metaphorical & Sovereign Immunity apply😀

I've seen some stuff like this on Instagram before. It baffles me how these guys see marriage as this means to an end to satiate their desires. I am a 20 year old single dude in the church who wants to get married one day. One of the reasons I want to get married is the beautiful way marriage is described in scripture. One man and one woman joining themselves before God, belonging to and being with one another in love to make a family and pursue God in life. These alpha male dude bro guys like Rob miss out on the beauty and romance described in scripture. It's all about sex and having their women fuel their egos. I even feel a difference in how they say things. If my dad called my mom his woman it would convey a context of love and protection. She belongs to him as he does to her. When people like this say it it conveys an idea of possession and objectification. Not love and protection. This type of thing legitimately makes me sick.
The woman who would go for this I would imagine has emotional baggage from past abuse and trauma. She would be compliant and easily manipulated. Guys like this would love that distorted power dynamic
1 Corinthians 10:23 All things are lawful but not all things are profitable. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should and doesn’t mean it’s good… this guys logic is something else.
I’m like 8 minutes in and his 1st point is that virtuous women are hard to find, so we should just marry a bunch of non virtuous women instead. Bro really just made the quantity over quality argument for marriage. What the actual heck?

Who in their right mind read the Old Testament and said, ‘yeah, polygamy sounds awesome’? It was obvious that it just lead to the worst possible outcomes.
@@mandkshields Your claim that Scriptures like 1 Timothy 3:2 and 12 "clearly" outline that polygyny is not God's design is far from straightforward and is overstated. These verses speak about the qualifications for elders and deacons, specifically that they should be "the husband of one wife." However, this is a directive for leadership within the church, not a universal condemnation of polygyny. In context, Paul's emphasis in 1 Timothy 3 is on the faithfulness and character of church leaders, rather than issuing a blanket rule about all marriage arrangements for all people. The phrase “the husband of one wife” could be interpreted as a call for monogamous fidelity in leadership roles, but it doesn’t necessarily imply that polygyny is inherently sinful for all believers in all contexts. The Old Testament includes numerous examples of polygyny, and while these relationships often led to difficulties as do monogamous relationships, they were never outright condemned as sinful by God. Furthermore, Paul’s instructions don’t invalidate those examples or mandate monogamy as the sole marital arrangement for all time. Are monogamous relationships without difficulties? To claim that 1 Timothy 3 "clearly" outlines God's design against polygyny is an overreach and disregards the complexity and nuances of biblical teaching on marriage. Such verses must be understood within the larger biblical narrative and the specific context of church leadership, not as a sweeping moral judgment on all forms of marriage throughout history.
Oh yeah, i totally forgot about that verse. "Love your wives as Jesus loved the church and synagogue and mosque and Aztec temple." It all makes sense now.

@cbtam4333 agreed. However, what was the sin? You identified it, adultery and murder. And he wasn't exactly silent on the fact that David already had 17 women. He explicitly stated that He had given him some of them and would have given him more if he had only asked.
He's right that older men can still father children, but at some point, many of them experience difficulties with sexual function, such as erectile dysfunction, which can make it challenging to conceive naturally. Another issue is that as men age, their sperm quality declines, increasing the chances of their offspring having disabilities or health problems. Some people argue that older men shouldn’t have children because the risk of complications for the child increases with the father's age, even if the mother is young. However, many older men still have healthy children, so it's not a guarantee of problems, just an increased possibility.

I tuned into Rob many years ago before he became “the polygamy guy.”
He has a history of struggling with sexual sin during his earlier TH-cam days he was known as the guy who gave up masturbation and was documenting his journey of celibacy.

Another important factor to this discussion is the impact on children. If a man has several wives and many kids, there is no way those children will receive the attention from their father that they need/desire.

Christ doesn’t have multiple brides. He has one bride. Another great video Mike!! 👏🏼
(Matthew 25 1-13)
@@thecompoundingschool6480
That story is a parable about the Kingdom of Heaven, illustrating the need for the Church, Christ’s bride, to be prepared for His return.

@@HisServant77 I reserve judgement, I will agree he sure missed the plot so to speak.
"man who's been ran through" ummm I think you need a biology lesson.
Same sentiments as you, I feel like my sense of self respect and worth would have to be in the garbage before I see a promiscuous (and proud of it) man and think that was the kind of man that I wanted. The only way these kind of men attract good women, is if they hide that they are the community dildo.

Not only do I not know a single woman who thinks in terms of alpha/beta, I don't know a single woman willing to share their significant other.

He said it himself: he doesn’t want a woman who’s slept with other men. Yet what does he expect but the women to accept that he sleeps with other women (“wives” but not legally)!!

One man and one woman joining themselves before God, belonging to and being with one another in love to make a family and pursue God in life. These alpha male dude bro guys like Rob miss out on the beauty and romance described in scripture. It's all about sex and having their women fuel their egos. @@MichaelEllisYT uh huh.
He’s trying to justify his immoral behavior and lustful desires.
Psalm 19:7
The torah of YAH is perfect - reviving the soul. (which part of torah wasn't perfect?)
Isaiah 51:7
“Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my torah.
Numbers 15:16
The same torah and regulations will apply both to you and to the foreigners living among you.
Psalm 119:172
May my tongue sing of your word, for all your commandments are righteous. (which one wasn't righteous?)
Psalm 119:142
Your righteousness is everlasting and your law is true.
Who is the Word of God made flesh:
Revelation 19:13
He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.
Is it possible to do violence to his torah? Yes - and "believers" have done violence to his torah many times in the past:
Ezekiel 22:26
Her priests do violence to my torah.
Zephaniah 3:4
they do violence to the torah.
Mark 7:13
And so you cancel the word of God in order to hand down your own tradition.
For it's written:
Isaiah 8:20
Look to the torah and teachings!

The OT also calls out the Isrealites for painting their eyes. Who in their right mind read the Old Testament and said, ‘yeah, polygamy sounds awesome’? It was obvious that it just lead to the worst possible outcomes.
Right? These people have never read the full Bible. Just the bits & pieces they like.
The Bible never condemns polygyny.
@@1Whipperin Mike quotes multiple Scriptures that clearly outlines polygyny being not God's design. Example 1 Tim. 3:2 and 12
Can you take us through all the known instances of polygamy in scripture one by one to see if what you say is true?
I think now I've heard everything 😮. Thank God that there are true Christians like you around Mike, who are willing to confront these people.

@@treehouse8501 Only speaking from my experience but there is not a major shortage of 'wife material' in the Church, there seems to be plenty of Godly women, but far fewer Godly men. I haven't looked at any studies to see what they say though.
Spot on, Mike! When Rob said- five reasons why polygamy is good- I was immediately like- Jacob's case alone is absolutely enough to see why it is NOT good.
@JITKanno0 the Most High directed Jacob’s "case" orchestrating it from the beginning, closing and opening wombs, blessing the giving of the maids, and generally guiding the whole ordeal with His own hand to achieve His desired outcome. You are denigrating God Himself with that statement. That is very dangerous ground, I would be careful if I were you.
God blessed the women with children, not because he APPROVED of the marriages. Children especially boys were the woman's security.
Jacob's marriage was build on lies and deceit. His hpuse was ANYTHING but peaceful. That alone tells you it's not good.

@@RestoringTheKingdom The Lord allowed the blessing of an heir and future king, Solomon, to be born to the woman David had committed adultery with (and murder). By no means did this justify David’s grievous sin.

Great video Mike! I came out of the mormon church 10+ years ago. Given the church's relationship with polygamy, I spent a lot of time studying/searching the bible so I could see what God's true teachings are regarding marriage. It's very clear in reading the bible with the Spirit guiding you that polygamy might have been 'winked at' for a time but was NEVER condoned. It only brought different degrees of problems and the men had to repent for entering into those relationships. This Rob guy is greatly deceived.
Also, as a very happily married woman (we're celebrating our 24th anniversary next month!) I can't help but giggle whenever I hear someone talk about 'Alpha Males'. His character of loving God first and sacrificing for our marriage and family is what's truly important. He brought all of us to a saving relationship with Christ and that's worth more than his height, physical strength, how much money he makes, etc. All of those characteristics people seem to think characterize an 'alpha male'.
Imagine a church where the elders and deacons are looking at peoples daughters as potential wives… no thank you.
