Almost all the other podcasts I listen to are about COVID-19. I'm tired of it. Very nice to set them aside and listen to creepy stories instead!

What's the difference between dogman and werewolves? And who would win in a fight?
Werewolves
I think Dogman is like Bigfoot in the sense that he's always Dogman, and werewolf implies humanness some of the time? And with that logic, Dogman, if he caught the werewolf any time that wasn't the full moon.
Dogman. They're all canids, the human factor would be a weakness in this context. Some of them dogmen are like 10 ft tall.

Dogman sounds nasty-mean! They seem to be aggressive whereas the Werewolf a little curious and mysterious.
To be fair, people who say the beginning ruins the mood when stories could be fake. One should always keep an open mind , yes, however things written online or what people send in are ALLEGEDLY true. We can never know whether the people writing them are truthful or not. Whether darkness would have that in his video or not, I would still not assume everything is 100% true. Because unfortunately there are people out there making things up either out of the blue, or they hear a story and make up something similar. To me it's just a habit to not trust everything completely.
Thus personally I'm not bothered by the beginning.
And before anyone jumps at me for no reason, this is MY opinion . You have yours. Yes, I agree that to have this in mind, can ruin the mood. But its always there for me so I'm used to it by now. The stories are entertaining nevertheless.
Take care out there folks and be careful, humans are the real monsters.
I like your opinion, it makes sense and seems completely reasonable, I just personally didn't like the disclaimer, but it did not ruin anything for me, and I hope I was not offensive, but I've never had a channel, so I dont know how hard people work on them, or how difficult it can be, but I feel it must be very, very hard. This is my favorite channel so I will love it no matter what.
@@nitsuA_LH yeah I usually never comment, but needed to say this when I saw people were disappointed. Whether the stories are true or not they're entertaining. Besides he narrates them, he doesn't write them himself nor can he control that they're true or not. Sadly people always have something to be negative about

I can see from others point of view how hearing it in the beginning may be a reminder they dont want, however I'm not fond of how some people state their opinions. There's no need to be rude about it, and if it actually ruins it for them, well that's something nobody else can help. We cant always be pleased with everything. And dont think I've seen your comment so I dont know how you put it, so I'm not aiming anything at you personally :)
@@nitsuA_LH oh yeah that movie is creepy, I'm a horror fan. I've watched since I was 7 so I'm ' immune ' to actually being scared of them now, which is why I use these stories for sleep haha. Nonetheless I enjoy creepy things. I'm writing my own horror novel at the moment which is surely not based on anything true. So I dont understand what the problem is, its entertainment

No worries! I just said I liked the original entry, because it helped me with suspension of disbelief, but that I would love his channel no matter what. I think I posted that I agreed with someone that wasn't crazy about the intro, then felt bad and posted again because I never want to intentionally hurt someone's feelings if I can help it...I agree with your comment though, it's not a big deal either way🙂

@@SpydrXIII I feel I have to point out, most people with mental disorders are not locked up, because having a mental disorder does NOT mean you're doomed to become insane or hurt someone. I also feel the need to point out that Darkness Prevails would NOT be as much to blame, as the ones who excuse their crimes by blaming horror stories they've heard. That is shifting the blame onto someone else and just false. In no story told would DP - or any other horror narrator - condone violence or killing, and so they are not to blame. Even if the stories they read deal with horrifying themes (which is the point of the stories), those stories are meant to entertain people. DP cannot be responsible for the effects that a story he reads has on his audience - Not even if they are mentally disturbed and hit hard by the story. Their actions are their own, and should be judged as such.
The disclaimer doesn't ruin anything. It's a good point to give each listener the responsibility to decide which story is real and which is not.
Tell you what if I meet a Dogman in the woods I would take a rolled up newspaper and bash that thing right on the nose. Then I would give it a stern talking to and make sure it never hurts anyone again

I’m going on a camping trip deep in the woods for spring break and the only monster I expect to see is my friend who likes to hog the s’mores.
Take a weapon anyway. Trust me. You don't need to run into a monster to be in danger when you're in the woods and have extra plans on what to do in case of emergencies. Be careful

Been having a rough week, this came at just the right time.
I really hope it gets better for you! A bad week is really crushing, it seems to never end. Since this full moon was really negative this month, I think it will begin to take away the negativity as it cycles back to a new moon. You can also smudge yourself with Palo santo wood incense (Amazon!), or white sage. Carry an iron nail (to repel the devil) and put bay leaves under your mattress to dispel the negative energy you have involuntarily received. These are just folk remedies, nothing really weird, it always seems to help though...hang in there!

I am going to burn some Palo Santo here, for you. It has worked for a friend before. It's kind of long distance blessing. My mom was half native American and French creole, so she taught me a lot of odd stuff people used to do before they had access to modern meds, etc. She had a way of "sending" messages and help to her sisters far away. It always seemed to work. You don't think of distance, because it's the frequency that counts, which turned out to be true with TV and radio, etc...so they were on to something. So, you go to sleep tonight thinking of being open to the frequency that your going to receive, then I will send the clearing smoke in a physical way here, but you will get the essence, or intent. Realize anything is possible, and your life can very suddenly change for the better, that you will be given a inspiration for the action you need to take. You don't have to take it, but you will be aware that you have options you didn't see before. Your mind will stop tearing back and forth between frustrations and will be calmer. You will probably hear from someone you haven't talked to in awhile, or run into someone that gives you a new direction. It usually works in 24 hours, but don't be discouraged. The one thing that for sure takes place is that someone is clearing the air around you, and it does help, it doesn't matter if you know them or where it's coming from. It's all positive, nothing negative.
Relax, I'm going to work on this tonight and tommorow, it's worked before, so I'm very confident! Enjoy your new life choices!

First of all, you are my favorite scary story narrator and I love your channel. I think that your intro is okay, but it almost sounds like something that you are legally obligated to say. I think you should word it more so that it matches the part where you say, “This world is a strange one.” Keep up the great content!

I absolutely love it when you use the voice modulator to make the scary, monstery (is this even a real word?), hair-raising voice effects DP! I wonder what some of these nightmarish creatures actually sound like? When I was maybe 5 or 6 years old, the house I lived in had God knows WHAT haunting me (I'm the only one who ever experienced anything) and I heard it's horrid voice once. That was approximately 46-47 years ago and I can still hear that awful voice. That's the voice I imagine when I listen to your videos. The scariest part is that I believe most of these encounters are true. Eeeeeeep! 😱

I think the creature in the first story was an intelligent enough that it wanted to play. It obviously loves running and when he saw you doing it he thought that was what you had in common. That long look he gave you from 50 feet ahead of you sounded like a cross between expectation and disappointment. It was hoping you'd start running again and it was disappointed you didn't. It has to be hard being a genetic anomaly. It's smart enough to want a friend.
Dude in story #1 tack down that curtain so it doesn't blow open.. it's just as creepy to those of us creatures lurking outside to suddenly see a dark void where your curtains should be 😱

Well there is reddit/youtube/forum skinwalkers, then there is actual native american lore on skinwalkers. The descriptions and overall stories don't match up at all. So basically one is for entertainment the other is NA legend. There's a lot of creature and cryptids that the reddit skinwalker is claimed to be.

I’ve NEVER put my bed next to a window. My kids beds either. I was always afraid of what I’d see out there since what I saw when I was a child (which I’m sure was my imagination).

I love scary stories that are elusive and mysterious. The woods are iconicly spooky. I can’t listen to anything to do with children being hurt or murders. Too sickening. I appreciate a middle ground.
The “what is this creature” story? Sounds like a mare. Or a male version of a night hag. Or an alp…. Honestly, when I first heard it described I thought of the mare. It gives you shitty dreams while it sits on your chest.

The creture in the second story was a wraith. It's a spirt or a ghost that died a horrible death and haunts the place where it died. The only way to kill it silver or just ignoring it

Yeah, that first story is too detailed. Like, who cares about all of the nothing details? "He turned his head 90°..." Just say he turned his head, it ruins the immersion, and makes the author sound so, "I have an IQ of 132."

I’m no expert by any means, but it appears the dog men mean us no harm. I hope they just co exhist with us. They definitely could do a lot of harm, but they never seem to. I’d be scared to, but I hope they are peaceful towards humans.
There are plenty of folks who would fervently disagree with you, & I've heard several allegedly true experiences that might point to a different conclusion, but I myself haven't had the personal experience to know for sure.

29:40 it’s most likely a skinwalker because wendigo have white eyes and would have tried to kill them instantly so with that it’s probably a skinwalker
I've heard of wendigo usually having yellow eyes & sometimes black, either being smaller & set far back into the head or being quite large... but I wouldn't expect that particular kind of appearance from a skinwalker.
