I never stop listening to these videos, whether working or not. I don't get it! People are missing out on the good stuff! This sure can take my mind off of the virus for awhile. I can't sit and listen to the news nonstop, because it just stresses me out!
Our most disturbing local legend is about private property called Lynch Field. It's pretty standard fair; "satanatic sacrifices", would-be magicians summoning spirits that they couldn't banish, that kind of thing. I was pretty good friends with a pagan who insisted that himself and some of his friends went out there in an attempt to "cleanse" the place - banish the spirits, positive energy and all that. He swore to me that the things there - shadow creatures of some sort - attacked him and his friends, who jumped into their truck to escape the area. The things supposedly chased their truck as they keel hauled it out as fast as the truck could go, with one of them in the back of the truck attempting to finish a banishing / shielding to keep "them" away from the truck. Pretty dramatic stuff that made for a fun story. Thing is, I also used to study and practice various forms of magick back then and I know that he could move energy, so that made the story much more interesting. I was nonetheless quite skeptical. There are a lot more to the rumors about the place but it's pretty... unpleasant stuff so you can use your imaginations for those bits.
I just about had a heart attack, i was listening to darkness happily laying down headphones on and eyes closed, THEN i heard a sound so obviously i opened my eyes AND I SAW SOMETHING RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. I nearly cried before realizing it was my freaking BLANKET. 😅😅

I literally live 5 minutes from the Old Joliet Prison and Hell's Gate, so there's tons of hauntings. I also live 25 minutes away down Archer Ave from Resurrection Cemetery (Resurrection Mary).

Scariest urban legend where I live: there was a rich family that owned this big mansion and they have their own private family cemetery out in the woods. I don’t know if there are any living relatives of this family, but their mansion burned down in the 1980s. There were two brothers in the family that died at least a few decades before that, because back in the 60s a couple of teenagers stole their skulls from the mausoleum because the urban legend back then was that these two brothers were vampires. Because of that, ~apparently~ there’s an axe man that used to work for the family that protects the mausoleum. If you touch the mausoleum, it’ll be warm, and you can hear breathing/groaning from inside the sealed tomb. And I guess the axe man might come for you? It’s a super creepy place and it’s private property so the scariest part for me is the danger of getting caught by cops

I thought that the whole point was to escape civilization to either relax or see things from a different perspective. Personally, I feel quite comfortable in the dark or some places others perceive as creepy. While I had a few angry animal encounters and some weird experiences, the scariest and most despicable monsters I've met came all from the realm of humans...

When I have to camp in a location, it is usually in very remote and inaccessible areas, and I do go to immerse myself in the wildlife (which is usually the reason that I am there in the first place), as well as being able to revert to simpler time and way of living for a few nights... Though most of the stories on these sorts of channels are typically about groups of teenagers camping in forested areas (that aren't usually anywhere near as remote as the locations that I usually seek out for work), to party in the woods for a couple nights (which I have also done plenty of, myself) 😄 but I do think that the creep factor is an additional underlying purpose for a lot of people, even if not the primary reason... ...and I concur that the most depravity one is likely to encounter comes from mankind rather than shadowy creatures of the night...

Sadly, I haven't gone to Mexico since I was a child, so like 10 years ago to experience anything myself. But I do remember my family's stories of the paranormal in our home. My grandma has experienced "duendes" which are like elfs who would do braids on the donkeys tails. Or how they heard a spirit call my aunt by their name when they went off to an abandoned house where the old lady that lived there died. Or the most memorable one to me, which was used to make me fall asleep early, was about a headless man who rides a horse by the street in our house. You knew he was there when not only you will hear the horse, but also the dragging of chains down the rocky street. I can recommend you a program called "Extranormal" where they go explore many paranormal sites that are popular in Mexico. It's on TH-cam but it is all in Spanish. Hope I helped a bit!

Darkness Prevails have u ever went to the hill u were talking about? When my grandfather was still alive when I was little, he had a camp he went to a couple times a year. It was a couple hours away from me in Bedford PA. There was a place near there called gravity hill and it was the same concept. Him and his wife took me and my cousins the one time and it was crazy! We poured water and it flowed up the hill, the ball rolled up, and when the van was in neutral it also went up!! I'll never forget that!

The story of kids pushing a car uphill over the tracks, Its called the Ghost tracks here in San Antonio, Texas. I live 3 miles away. Sadly construction closed the track and removed the roads. There was a petition to try to stop the construction but the city did it anyway.

My place had disappearing pets too, but some were found mutilated and it was definitely not an animal, unless you count humans as such. It lead to the rumor that Satanists would perform dark rituals and indeed some symbols were found, but I think that those were done by prankster. From what I know there must have been at least two groups hunting pets. One shot them, the other captured them and did worse things...At some point even humans were targeted until someone confiscated the air rifle (however some pets were shot with a bow and others with a slingshot). I think the a-holes that were caught were around 12. I dunno what happened with the other group though.
The Retirement Park My Grandparents would go to during the winter, it was the Pond Alligator you had to look out for, it would snatch up peoples dogs and cat's left outside. Every year they would kill it, but another would eventually take it's place. Fort Meyers for ya.
It could also be a warning for an incoming earthquake, or the like. I narrowly escaped a landslide once. Just before it was earily still. I paused and listened to hear animals, but what I heard instead was a deep creaking sound as if a big wooden hull sail ship caught wind. It was followed by the sound of sand sliding and pebbles bouncing and at that moment I understood...
I live in the area of the ghost kid pushing the car. My friend did it and said there were kids handprints on his car after he tried it and it worked. Idk? 🧟♂️
So back in 80s or 90s MN, there was a plane crash near where I live. The land was a lot more swampy then and apparently all the people on board drowned as they sunk with the plane into what I presumed was a marsh. At the spot where that happened is a cinema now and in certain rooms/areas of the theater, you will hear people talking/screaming even though no one is in said theater room/area. Weirdest thing I've heard there is people screaming in the bathrooms even though it's vacant and the glass looking into the arcade room suddenly shattering with no sign of damage prior.
My hometown has this one ghost story/urban legend. It’s not that scary but it’s the only thing I can think of. In the downtown area, there’s this really old bookstore that is a local icon and in more recent years was renovated with a cafe added on that sells coffee, pastries, etc. One night when an employee was doing their last minute checks, they saw a shadowy figure go into the kitchen area of the cafe. The employee followed them to tell the person they need to leave but upon entering the kitchen with only one doorway they found nobody. However, the stove had been left on and if it hadn’t been for that ghost the bookstore may have burned down and we wouldn’t have our little bookstore anymore.
Funny that you mentiond ghost kids pushing a car up hill, because the infamous legend here is called the ghost tracks. The short version of the story is a bus full of kids stalled on the tracks, and was hit by a train. And if you stop your car just before the tracks and put it in neutral, you will be "pushed" what really does seem to be slightly uphill and over the tracks. From my own personal experience, it only seems to work in the one lane, and it doesnt matter if your car is facing forward or backward. Other parts of the legend says that all the streets in the neighborhood near by are named for some of the kids on the bus. Also, its said that if you put baby powder on the back of your car before being pushed over the tracks, there are sometimes small hand prints in the powder. There are a few other haunted places in San Antonio Texas as well.

My place had disappearing pets too, but some were found mutilated and it was definitely not an animal, unless you count humans as such. It lead to the rumor that Satanists would perform dark rituals and indeed some symbols were found, but I think that those were done by prankster. From what I know there must have been at least two groups hunting pets. One shot them, the other captured them and did worse things...At some point even humans were targeted until someone confiscated the air rifle (however some pets were shot with a bow and others with a slingshot). I think the a-holes that were caught were around 12. I dunno what happened with the other group though.

The Retirement Park My Grandparents would go to during the winter, it was the Pond Alligator you had to look out for, it would snatch up peoples dogs and cat's left outside. Every year they would kill it, but another would eventually take it's place. Fort Meyers for ya.

So back in 80s or 90s MN, there was a plane crash near where I live. The land was a lot more swampy then and apparently all the people on board drowned as they sunk with the plane into what I presumed was a marsh. At the spot where that happened is a cinema now and in certain rooms/areas of the theater, you will hear people talking/screaming even though no one is in said theater room/area.
Weirdest thing I've heard there is people screaming in the bathrooms even though it's vacant and the glass looking into the arcade room suddenly shattering with no sign of damage prior.

My hometown has this one ghost story/urban legend. It’s not that scary but it’s the only thing I can think of.
In the downtown area, there’s this really old bookstore that is a local icon and in more recent years was renovated with a cafe added on that sells coffee, pastries, etc. One night when an employee was doing their last minute checks, they saw a shadowy figure go into the kitchen area of the cafe. The employee followed them to tell the person they need to leave but upon entering the kitchen with only one doorway they found nobody. However, the stove had been left on and if it hadn’t been for that ghost the bookstore may have burned down and we wouldn’t have our little bookstore anymore.

Funny that you mentiond ghost kids pushing a car up hill, because the infamous legend here is called the ghost tracks. The short version of the story is a bus full of kids stalled on the tracks, and was hit by a train. And if you stop your car just before the tracks and put it in neutral, you will be "pushed" what really does seem to be slightly uphill and over the tracks. From my own personal experience, it only seems to work in the one lane, and it doesnt matter if your car is facing forward or backward. Other parts of the legend says that all the streets in the neighborhood near by are named for some of the kids on the bus. Also, its said that if you put baby powder on the back of your car before being pushed over the tracks, there are sometimes small hand prints in the powder. There are a few other haunted places in San Antonio Texas as well.
