Brilliant actor, never miss an opportunity to watch Gregor Fischer, a ray of sun shine in a life of dark clouds Brilliant scripts, and god level casting. They don't make em like this no more I raise a glass of Buckfast (with an Irn bru chaser) to the team
Rab C an absolute LEGEND! I showed this to my , fluent in English, French girlfriend and she looks from the screen to me totally puzzled whilst I pss myself laughing!
Myself and some mates once met a real-life Rab in Cardiff and yes, he was Scottish and hilarious! The following month I saw Gregor Fischer at Dublin airport! Life can be strange, lol!
I watched this scene when it came out and I was still pretty young and dumb. But even then I could see there was something magnificent and touching about it. Now I would notice that the amazing ending of the scene came in the aftermath of Rab praising God for His "interior design" skills, and being disappointed at having his divine moment of reverie disturbed by some English got-rich-quick yobbo types. There's real pathos here. But also something uplifting as Rab cries out about "Hands across the Sea".
Those were the days when myself, being a foreign English language student, and my British boyfriend won the bets that I'd understand Rab, having in mind that the English people watched it with subtitles!😂😂😂
Love this , gets me in stitches with laughter😂 from the pit of my stomach even know can never understand what an earth he is saying on times but really good acting even his wife can't remember the actresses name she is know in 2 doors down brilliant the pair of them mind got to mention the other ones that was in it aswell a CLASS ACT ...
Reminds me of Hamlet. Indeed, it goes so heavily with my disposition; that this goodly frame the earth, seems to me a sterile promontory; this most excellent canopy the air, look you, this brave o'er hanging firmament, this majestical roof, fretted with golden fire: why, it appeareth no other thing to me, than a foul and pestilent congregation of vapours.
Well the audience laughs and Rab comes back so there's little to hear. At the beginning he's talking about the moon and the night. And seems to be saying something like "Pallatella" (a surname). Then he says "I see", and we hear the reference to "bandi" and then he shouts out about Rab being his friend, and ends with Adios, which is said in the south of Spain without us hearing the "s" at the end. Pretty much all there is...
There was an old guy,a bit like an irate parallel universe version of Compo from Last of the Summer Wine, who was often seen cycling round my town hurling abuse at all and sundry and getting it back in kind.
this show gets added to the list. the list where you can wipe your memory of ever watching it, so you can experience it all over again. truly epic. thanks to everyone involved in making this show.

Rab is just so eloquent
This is modern day Shakespeare. Absolute poetry

@@agduine I think you might be right. They either went to Spain or Italy and Spain is more likely.

Italian. As another commenter has said, it was based around the Italia '90 world cup.
