I hadn't watched After Life ( don't know why because I love everything Ricky does) ....BUT I have just got Netflix and last week I watched the first episode . I ended up staying up all night and I watched the whole lot in one go !! it was brilliant !!!

David Earl as Brian in this is my favourite character. He is soo sleazy but funny too, When he says “ I was in a Haze” I couldn’t control myself 😂.I love this show and these outtakes are pure gold. The whole cast are magic together absolutely love Kath ❤️.

Brian would be the most difficult actor to keep a straight face with. His voice, the shit he says... his mannerisms... he is one of the funniest characters I have ever seen. Love all scenes with him!
This has to be the only show where they have to do dozens of retakes just because the writer can't stop laughing at his own jokes. I absolutely love him.
Some dialogues are improvised by the actors on the moment which makes ricky laugh even harder cuz of hearing them for the first time.

I didn't like him in the 2nd series, obviously you're not supposed to like him, I mean I just thought it was crass, too much, too unsubtle and not funny. These outtakes though had me crying, especially the bit in the pub where they were just riffing out names.

I love how Ricky gives licence to the actors to just ad lib. Main reason he laughs in most of these is because he’s never heard the line before. Seen loads of people on previous outtakes like Derek saying “why does he laugh so hard on lines he wrote” well he didn’t write them 😕
i've seen interviews with Ricky where he said there's very little improv in his sitcoms...
