- The available technology in your Fusion may help prevent a frontal collision with another vehicle or a pedestrian. Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection* uses radar and a forward-facing camera to detect a potential frontal collision and can then alert you.
*Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver’s attention, judgment and need to control the vehicle. Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection can detect pedestrians, but not in all conditions, and does not replace safe driving. See owner’s manual for system limitations.

Yes dont worry. Although I'm not sure if stops the car completely I've had it pre charge the brakes for me but since I'm so paranoid and react quickly I haven't found out if the car comes to a complete stop I would hope so getting into the year 2021.
@@buzzj00 Yeah it does. It Preloads The Brakes 1st Then 2 Beeps Later It’ll Apply Them. It’s Kinda The Same Concept With The Stop & Go System

@@ryandwyer50 none but if you take a corner fast and there is car in the other lane it lights up. If you are really close to a parked car it will light up so you dont have an accident in the first place!

Hi i have the same problem B142E:78-AF i'm not able to calibrate it. do you know the trick?
Load of crap, alert keeps going off for no reason in traffic when I pull off, even on low setting and it cannot be turned off completely. Ford not assisting either. Really irritating.
Yours keeps going off while mine never goes off, until the car is basically out of my way, & I have it on the high setting

My daughter rear ended a vehicle going under 25 mph...airbags did not deploy either...system failed and it's on 2018 expedition max
The feature isn't brake proof. it's main purpose is to warn you, and in a last ditch effort it will try and the key word there is ''try'' to stop if the driver fails to brake after the initial brake warings.
Airbags must not deploy unless the crash is very severe. I mean just imagine, car was hit with a big stone on the road and the bags deployed. It would be a life-threatening situation as you can't see out of the car, can't react, etc. I sat in a Ford when I had a frontal collision with an old cargo van. The speed was ~60mph+, and the van had no zones, it was old. The front of the Ford disappeared, but I got out without any injury. Nothing. I was like, oh sh the car is "gone"... The van? The transmission was knocked out of place, the front end demolished, etc.
tl;dr: Ford has great safety. At least from my personal experience. I would trust my life with it. I mean once I had to and it protected me. Volvo is also notorious for great safety.

Pedestrian detection was never tested in a real life scenario. Try driving in NYC! The warning beeps almost non stop because people will walk around the vehicle the whole time you are stopped at a light! To make things worst is that it mutes the phone making telephone conversation impossible!

It only activates when you go 3 mph or higher. I don't even think you know what you are talking about.

@Nick G I think you mean parking sensors. Yes those will go off all the time when pedestrians are walking around. This is something completely different
if equipped to your mustang it can help it find people more easily to run them over
