Does Ford have anything to alert drivers on tailgating? Like, resistance to accelerate closer to the car in front within a two second distance?
Philip Royd on cruise control it works, where car slows down in 3 second distance . But not regular acceleration . I hear about infinity which has no collision sensor but I haven’t driven one
I currently have a 2020 Fusion SE hybrid as a long-term rental and it's so stupid that I have to turn it on every time I turn the car on, why can't it just remember what I had selected previously?
The Fusions exterior hasn't changed much but since my 2013 the safety has dramatically improved.
I thought my 2013 Fusion was one of the safest cars on the road.

The system takes some time to get used to. Feels like something is off with the steering but after awhile it is kinda nice to have at times. Here is the fun part the truck does not have this and then it feels very analog'sh.

I do have it in my 2020 Ford Escape SE in black. My last vehicle didn’t have it.
On my 2017 Focus mine does the opposite. If you drift to the right it will put into the right lane. I took it to the dealer and they said it's ok . When I tried it it did the exact same thing put me into the right lane.

FYI the Honda Civic that my Ford dealership let me use while in for work, had lane keeping too. And it works WAY better than my 2019 Edge ST lane keeping system. Ford pay attention to keeping the car IN THE MIDDLE of the lane.

I agree. The Toyota Rav 4 literally does a better job in putting you back into your lane. It actually completely steers for you even around curves as long as yuh you are touching the steering wheel.
That's because pre-2020 it was simply Lane Keeping Assist and did not include Lane Centering. Some of the 2020+ vehicles now include Lane Centering and it works really well. Rented an Explorer with it over the summer and fell in love with it. Definitely wish my 2019 Fusion Hybrid had it
@@westonhalstead8636 Just for future reference if you want to get a Toyota with it make sure it includes the Lane Tracing feature or it won't have the lane centering

My 2020 Explorer randomly jerked itself into the right lane when using lane assist. It does this regularly. When I first got the vehicle the lane assist worked great....now it constantly goes left and right when in its lane and if it makes itself go too far out of the lane it cancels lane assist and pulls super hard to whatever side it left the lane on. NOT SAFE AT ALL AND MY WIFE REFUSES TO USE THE MODE NOW. I hope an update fixes this soon because I see wrecks happening with the current tech.
I had the same problem with my 2015 King Ranch. Almost dangerous to use.

No, you will be going to slow for the system to be activated. When changing lanes at highway speeds, if you don't use your turn signals, the steering will fight you

Yes, you can over ride the lane keeping. And it will encourage you to use your turn signals to change lanes. Just saying.

I can’t push or pull my steering wheel towards me
My dealer, in North England told me that this was incase I fall asleep on the motorway ! Apparently most people with this system turn it off.

Mine will change lanes instead of moving you back into your lane. Example, if you drift to the right the steering wheel turns right make a lane change and possibly hitting another vehicle. Drifting to the left it doesn't do anything. Took it back to the dealer they said it works fine. When I got it back it still doesn't work.
