I've been watching a lot of the body cam footage tonight . . . then I stated watching watching the released 911 calls. This very fist call has iven me goosebumps on my arms and neck. "Dispatch Engine 11" "Engine 11" "We've got a large crown running from the Music festival down here, do you have report of anything souds like gunfire?" "That's a negative , sir" AND SO IT BEGAN.
Impressive the way command was established, then split into divisions, setting up communications so traffic does conflict on the radio. And the head Chief assigning units to different posts and sending assets where and when needed. This really is the epitome of professionalism and competence. We are so fast to pile on when mistakes happen, we should also acknowledge when things are well done. These warriors kicked ass that night in the face of insanity and pandemonium. As Mr. Rogers once told us, just look for the helpers, that’s when you know it’ll be ok.
Around 2:07 starts talking about shots fired at other hotels, I.e, the MGM... 2:10 “confirmed active shooter” at Tropicana. Omg what in the hell actually went on that night? My heart goes out to all first responders in the chaos that night. And the victims caught in the cattle feeding of shooters. This thing was hushed up almost immediately and has seemed to disappear in the media😕🤐
The first call was made by that fire truck coming in from a car crash that night, they were driving down the strip, and people were running to their truck they were confused as to why.
Hey man I just wanted to let you know, It’s not right to use God’s Name in vain. He tells us that in the Bible. Exodus 20:7 “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold guiltless anyone who takes his name in vain.” The Holy Trinity is God alone. There never has and never will be another god. God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are God. Not three gods but 3 Divine Persons in One God. God bless and just letting you know
very professional radio comms. a awesome example of 35,000ft oversight. who, where, what, often repeated for clarity, with the occasional why. far more composed and prepared than their metro counterparts. moving units where and when it was needed. reveals some new twists to the time line, sequence of events, including reports of multiple shooters elsewhere in the incident area. a most challenging situation for the dispatcher, command elements, and the front line guys with their boots on the ground. everyone sounds very composed, with an efficient delegation of responsibility and situational discretion. and what is with the additional shooter reports around an hour or so "after" the shooting had ended at the venue? fresh sounding reports not the type of residual confusion of the moment. waiting to hear the dot connectors break this down. hopefully it helps shed a brighter light upon some very dark days. best and warmest thoughts to all affected by this earth shattering event.
As a former Strip property security manager, I'd guess it was either security or the engineers of the hotel just seeing what was happening. No regular person can access those rooftops. They are under surveillance 24/7 and most have motion or activation sensors to alert any movement/door opening at rooftop access points.
I just listened to a symposium about this. People were walking in to other hotels bleeding and staff and customers thought they had gotten shot in that building
Given the patient count this was a well run MCI by all of command staff and dispatch.. the only thing I can see is that RED DOG 40 should have been added as its own "airport division" and given their own tac channel.
A future plan could be that once an incident starts someone from Metro is dedicated to communicating with the FD immediately, preventing confusion and delays in getting help to those in need more quickly.
See ALL OF YOU ARE LISTENING TO JUST THE VOICES OF THIS INCIDENT NOT SEEING IT like the rest of the videos of other COP'S BODY CAM VIDEO'S THEY SHOW EVERYTHING AND EVERY COP'S BODY CAM WHEN THEY 1ST STEP ON THE SCENE I LIVE IN VEGAS LESS THAN 4 MINS. AWAY FROM MANDALAY BAY it's just WEIRD THEY CAN'T SHOW HOW THEY CALMED THE SCENE DOWN OR ACTUALLY BE IN THE VIDEO WATCHING IN SEEING
I am in awe at the professionalism and ability stay cool under unbelievable tragedy and chaos. First responders are almost always amazing.
Thank you to all the firefighters and paramedics on this devastating call.
And our Law officers; and everyone who assisted us during, which we couldn’t have done without.

Handled the chaos with calm and efficiency. Well organized command. Well done, everyone.
You can hear the exact moment. Their voices immediately sober. It went from possible to happening instantly

Gotta do what ya gotta do.
I am impressed. Everybody did a fantastic job.
The IC dispatchers and apparatus units act flawless for a MCI. Terrible situation but all involved should be commended.
39:32 red dog 40 wants dispatch to confirm that battalion 2 is aware of the ‘situation’
Who is “Red Dog”?
@@jenn_madisonIs it a unit that is stationed in Station 13 at the International Airport.
@@MarinePigVa - Thank you! I appreciate the reply very much.
I fucking love our Fire and Paramedic crew

When then wounded were brought to the area hotels, it took a few minutes to determine they were all coming from the same venue.

Thats how its suppose to work.
For this big of an event, I thing it was handled about as well as could be expected.
Comment #1 - a requirement of dispatcher should be perfect diction - this girl was misunderstood multiple times
