@tweakyification how is the corsair? I've been trying to find someone to let me test fly before I start saving for one. Is the maneuverability similar to the connie?
@tweakyification nice I want one because I just like the idea of a heavily armed multipurpose ship I can pilot by myself if my friends are busy and the cargo bay that can hold most vehicles is a big plus too.
Each of the Constellation series is solid. I have a taurus loaner, and it's built for trading but still a 8/10 or higher combat ship. The pilot guns it gives you, even barebones, are more than enough.
One great thing about persistence is that locations like that scrapyard can form a story over time. Before it was a clean slate constantly, but now the traces of time are there to see.
the problem is now about next to every outpost you can find at least 3 shipwrecks and the same thing in and and infront of hangers its just piling up everywhere and that is kindof a probem tbh
@@blyzz5867 one way they could do to mitigate that, would be by having some kind of garbage service NPC's or something, that would be fun to play as if they decided to let players do it as well.
The constellation series will always be my first love but it has been ignored for so long. It really needs to be brought up to the gold standard and then I will fly them again
One day when they get their gold standard pass, I am certain the Connie series will be the backbone for a few orgs in terms of a small sized multi crew ship that can carry an extra fighter and vehicle. The ship line is just too versatile, especially ships like the Andromeda which can do just about anything. I would've loved to have a version of the Conetellation with the bridge moved back to between the two top Engine nacelles but as it is now is fine too.
The Constellation Andromeda was my first pledge with Star Citizen in 2014 and was for a minute gonna be my Hero Ship. Although it ultimately got replaced in my fleet by the Mercury Star Runner I still have in a special place in my heart for this ship.
I got the Constitution Andromeda a few weeks ago. I mostly use it to transport a Greycat ROC. My wife does the mining, and when looking for deposits, she is in the upper turret. And it has helped to have her in the turret on a few occasions. Being able to drop/raise the cargobay elevator from the cockpit is soooo nice. I really like the Constitution class of ships.
@@Nathdood yes. for some reason I kept calling it "Constitution". Probably because in Star Trek, the Enterprise is a Constitution Class Starship. I suppose I could edit it.....
I love my Taurus, I actually have an upgrade for it to the MSR but I can't bring myself to apply the upgrade yet. The Connie is such a great ship for roc mining with only 2 doors to the cargo elevator and the Taurus has a much bigger cargo space for 2 vehicles or cargo running. I don't care much for the snub fighter in the back so the only downside of the Taurus for me is losing the bottom turret for a tractor beam. But that gameplay should be out soon enough hopefully
Does anybody else remember when CR sold us on the idea that the Constellations were/are supposed to be MODULAR ships with 4 DISTINCT SECTIONS? We are SUPPOSED to be able to change the Andromeda, Taurus, and Phoenix bridges for the Aquila bridge whenever we like.
@@Ratswallow In their stretch goals for back when they asked for funding, they announced they will allow ALL ships to be modular. However, from right now I am very sure this will either never be implemented or very, very, very, very late.
The Carrack also has two modular sections (The cargo sections) and I have no clue what exactly you are supposed to switch it out with. But I can see that being a ton of work, as I have no clue about game creation.
Ì may be relatively new to SC, but I've learned that whenever CIG says "we want to", "we aim to", "the aim is", etc. to just not believe until you can do/see it in-game
The taurus is going to be my go to. especially when they put in tractoring weapons and such off of other ships. can do missions and do some quick salvage without exiting the ship.
For solo the Taurus is definitely better than the Aquila. But it is nice that the Aquila has the fighter and a "better" scanner. I think cargo amenities for solo are the better choice though.
so taurus over aquilla you think and andromeda i dont know which one to get i used to play elite a lot used to do a lot of smuggling then those missions got nerfed and got my self a corvette i do like the large ships but i also like multi purpose as well i want to get into star citizen just not sure which constellation is the one im lookin for what do you suggest?
I like the idea of rolling around in a Taurus with a ROC and a Cyclone in the belly so I can jump between the chill of mining and bunker mission etc. without having to constantly claim and swap ground vehicles about
I also have a Conny Phoenix...which I love so much. I actually don't mind the cockpit window so much, though I hope they do improve it one day. But I do wish they would finally give it the gold standard pass. It was one of the first ships in the game that a lot of players bought and so many things still aren't fixed. The table is a good example. Right after they launched it the table worked and would rise out of the floor when you clicked on it and then they made some changes and it hasn't worked since. I've owned the Andromeda and then upgraded to the phoenix which is my favorite, because you get almost everything as the others plus the plush interior and my favorite thing...all those amazing windows. I love a ship with windows. There's just something about being able to look out of your ship when you are flying through space or landing on a planet.
@Tim Mora Fully agree. Phoenix has the best view of all the ships, even better then 600i. So nice to be able to have a ship that can do everything and has the great interior, too. And we will gt the new Lynx Rover in the future. Just hope we will finally get the option to open the cargo bay from the mobi, while being inside a vehicle.
The thing that bugs me about the connie missiles is the inconsistency. For the Phoenix, since the upper cargo area has been converted into luxury accommodations the top firing missile racks are removed to make headroom and give you more space for occupants, so it makes sense that it lost half it's missile load from the andromeda. But the Aquila only loses half it's missile pay load "because RSi says so" the side mounted rocket pylons from the andromeda and phoenix are still there on the aquila...just locked out. Sad.
I have the constellation andromeda and love it. Had the Corsair but melted it as it was so fragile. Even small ships have you major torque damage despite shields barely dripping a few percent. Connie is way tankier. Also, the Andromeda gets 48 modules missiles default.
@@sebione3576 Players complain and worry about server performance due to clutter. Also players leave garbage every where. Oh the irony. That said, I did find a trash bin stuffed with med gowns, so much that my bottle wouldn't even fit. So kudos to those who care to play well with others.
I suspect once we get ship munching in. A mission won't be needed for it. We just handle it ourselves. I'm already making bank bank scraping hulls at outposts. For now, it wouldn't be bad if they de-spawned once they been scraped.
Every time I listen to your videos, it reminds me of my early days back in 2014 watching Tactical Advance and his ship reviews. Love it. Nice to see you still making videos, even in these rough patch days.
0:35 PREACH.... The first 'Large' ship I flew in the Verse was the Aquilla. I loved it better than the Cutlass or the Freelancer. However, I am currently flying the Taurus and love it. The Problem with the Phoenix is the bathroom. IF you are going to transport VIPs, you need something more than a space porta potty.
Out of 30 ships backed and sitting in my hangar and the Constellations are one of my daily driver ships. Big enough to do most jobs and small enough to park anywhere no matter how tight the terrain is. Constellation Aquila was my second pledge ship and a year later the game gives me a loaner Constellation Andromeda and Caterpillar in lieu of the not yet flyable Pioneer constructor. Love my two Connies
Personally I think the Andromeda is the best 'all-rounder' Connie at the moment. It can capably defend itself (within reason) with 3 crew with some really decent firepower and still run cargo routes quickly. The Aquila is an expedition ship and doesn't have a game loop yet so the top turret is useless. The snub fighters aren't up to much as they lack the firepower against most other single seat fighters. I do agree the front window is a lot better in the Aquila though. Hope all the Connies get a gold pass soon considering their price tag.
8:20 If you're more of a solo hauler / bounty hunter the Taurus is definitely the better option as you're not losing anything that you could make sensible use of on your own but you gain a massive amount of cargo capacity and a tractor beam turret to feed that cargo hold (eventually). However the Aquila and Andromeda are better multi-crew ships. The Aquila in particular will probably turn out to be the most versatile of the bunch with its exploration capability. Of all the Constellation variants the Phoenix is probably the worst unless you are really into luxury touring which I, to this day, can not imagine a meaningful gameplay loop for.
I really dig the Phoenix for style, two turrets, and the storage floor you can elevator down into instead of climbing the ladder, but yeah the Taurus is much more practical with way more storage and tractor turret. I see myself using one of these two variants for my daily driver. Likely taurus!
I've been tossing around the idea of maining the other Connies, but it seems like I can't stay away from the Taurus. It's the weakest of them all in terms of hull HP, but also the most useful! Still solid enough for some combat, room enough to feel like I made a profit on trading, and if I want to carry a snub like the Fury, I still have room left over in the bay. Its also the least expensive.
My problem with the phoenix is that it has the same bathroom as the others. I feel like it should have a fancy bathroom connected to the master bedroom, and VIP passengers never have to enter the front part of the ship. Other than that, I've always liked it.
Hey Olli! The Aquila's cargo bay is JUST big enough to have an Ursa Rover inside of it, so your crew can effectively have 3+ decent vehicles exploring at the same time with the snub fighter, the aquila, and the ursa. The top manned "turret" I believe will be a functional scanner, similar to the Terrapin's, whenever they add that feature. I personally hope that any future updates to the Aquila will put a small med bay into consideration as well as a science station/lab, not as powerful as the Carrack of course, but just enough to let a crew of 5'ish get their first taste of deep space exploration.
I think the Taurus is the best buy for an everyday ship. Its by far the cheapest (which is nice, but not a necessity if I thought the other ships were better), has 174 cargo (which I use to make around 450,000 in drug running profit in about 20-25 minutes), has the no scan area in the snub bay for elicit cargo or bodies, has the same weapon spots as all the other connies. Its negatives are such, visibility as mentioned in this video and no snub fighter (which I don't find useful). One of the turrets in the Taurus is a tractor beam instead of turret but I only ever play with a second player so that doesn't do anything for me. If you routinely play with 3, then the andromeda would be best IMO to have 2 turret gunners. Hard to beat the Taurus IMO.
The Andromeda is still more used then even the carrack. its so good i love it. It even brings struts to block the sun in asteroid fields ;). There are maybe better ships for certain jobs but i like the looks too and its powerful and a good size.
Originally had the Andromeda but recently upgraded to the Aguila and I don’t regret it. I’ll sacrifice only having 24 missiles compared to the 52 on the Andromeda to have the better front glass and more hydrogen fuel. I kept the s4 laser cannons on the bottom and I upgraded to s5 Ballistic Gatlings on top and it freaking shreds bounties.
To me, the constellation has always been THE multi crew ship since Star Citizen’s inception. It’s the perfect size for you and 3-4 of your buddies to hop in and do just about every game loop there is in the game (besides mining and salvaging). It’s a great general purpose ship and I can’t wait for it to be fully fleshed out when we get multicrew gameplay. Great video btw!
Upgraded my owned ship to an andromeda a while back and love it. So much firepower, still easy to maneuver, you can play with a crew or without one, haul cargo, use the small fighter that comes with for smaller skirmishes and exploration, whole thing is top tier... even with the 200 some dollar price tag or however of my kids college fund money i blew on it
The hideaway table was on the original model for the Andromeda, back before PU was even a thing and you could only walk around on it in the hanger module. Of course, if you actually deployed it, it would trap you on the ship 😂
The Andromeda was originally sold as a flying boardroom, and we wanted that for roleplay reasons. Ended up trading it for a Phoenix, since that one is more of the flying boardroom these days.
I love my Taurus. My ONLY gripe is that it's not up to true gold standard and the struts need to be removed from every Connie. Other than that it's a perfect ship for solo or small groups. Bottom turret tractor beaming ship parts into the cargo bay will be awesome once working.
I absolutely love all the Constellation ships but believe it or not the Aquila is not my favorite. The Andromeda is. Nonetheless, they truly are a hell of a work horse in Star Citizen.
I've got a Taurus and I love it. I can use it for almost anything. Although I have ships that will carry more cargo, I think this will come into it's own once I need to make really long range cargo deliveries.
I got my Aquila back when it also came with an Ursa rover included and is still my favorite ship for ROC mining. Its allso possible to get down into the cargo hold by vaulting over the rails to the sides of the ladder which makes getting to a ROC that little bit faster. Also I don't have any issue undocking/redocking the Merlin which makes checking the cargo holds of other ships easier.
It being a Connie also pairs well to support the vulture at Lagrange points. First you take a box mission and leave the box sitting someplace out of the way in the Aquila. Then you fly to a Lagrange Point and locate some scrap. Next you fly back to the nearby station in the merlin and pull out your vulture. Fly the Vulture back to the Aquila using the box mission tracker to make this easy. Proceed to salvage the scrap. Offload to the Aquila each time the Vulture is full until either all the scrap runs out or the Aquila is full. Then with an empty Vulture you fly back to the station and switch back to the Merlin and fly back to the Aquila and redock. Go sell for profit and repeat it again as much as you like.
4:08 yes the table used to be a click on it and it comes up, but it stopped working/got disabled a while back and never got restored. Once the connie series gets it's gold pass it'll likely come up again unless the design changes. (and i've hoped for the longest time we get something similar in the retaliator since it got all the animates for long distance travel except food areas and something deployable like the connie table would probably be the only way to do it)
Just upgraded my Freelancer Max to the Aquila, and you very much CAN undock the Merlin. I did it while in space near Everus Harbor. I was looking at the Merlin while it was docked with the Aquila and noticed that I had the option to enter the pilot seat, so I did. Then I pressed "N" and heard a message that stated, "undocking procedure initiated" or something similar and bam! I was undocked and below the Aquila. I wanted to finish what I was in the middle of doing just prior to this, so I strafed up to try to redock and I forgot how fast the Merlin was and I plowed straight up through the Aquila, blowing everything to smithereens. I unfortunately have not yet had the opportunity to try again, but just wanted to chime in and let everyone know that it is very much possible to undock the Merlin.
This is ship I started with, upgraded to Carrack. 600i is not much more $$$ for way better ship if you consider it’s Gold STD update. It will hold a Nova or a Smaller ground vehicle and a snub. Consider having a STV and a C8 sitting on the tray! Your snub has quantum where P-Snubs do not.
On the Andromeda - the snub DOES work to my knowledge. Have had it work since at least 3.17 or 3.16 (intermittent woes here and there) but in 3.18 I've had a friend take it out for a spin on daymar till he ran into the belly and blew up... snubfighter speeds be dangerous with server jitter/latency (he aimed too close and our sync was too de-synced... explosions...)
I've been testing light, heavy and medium fighters as well as the 600i for an alternative method of making money after the wipes. Also tested the constellation. So far the constellation is one of my favorites. The firepower is great. The cargo room is great. Just a fun ship to drive around and do any missions.
As a long time fan of the game, I am glad to see the Conny ships get so much love and updates. They used to be a big joke when I started, but now they are pretty dam good.
The Aquila gets totally looked over because of its price. People see it as losing exterior missiles and a turret compared to the Andromeda. I really hope the radar turret really shines when exploration gameplay is introduced to give it a purpose. I have an Aquila in my hangar but I'm sitting on a Redeemer CCU and weighing my decision to upgrade. I guess the kicker will be if the Corsair actually turns out to be a good exploration ship at a much lower price.
The Taurus currently does all of this plus actual good cargo room and a tractor beam. Until there is a shred of exploration mechanics in the game, the Taurus wins out for all-around.
I have enough fun with my Carrack, respawn point you can place wherever you want and you can park ships in and on top of it. Yes you read right. The top of the ship when the hanger is closed acts as a landing pad. Ships stay on it during quantum. My interstellar base among the stars with enough room for all my friends to do missions out of and transport them around. Has plenty of guns, not as much as a hammerhead but it punches hard with them all manned. If you want the experience bring a few friends and I can invite yall to a party. It really is something else.
2013 I pledged with an Andromeda. Still have it. Sometimes think about melting it bit it still holds a place in my heart as my original ship. Back then I was in an org so multicrew could have been a thing. Anyway, yes, I'd love to see these get a gold standard pass. Make the table fixed in place, deal with the struts. Mine shows two hardpoints for Size 1 or 2 weapons in the weapon loadout screen that don't show up on the weapons MFD. Either delete those or make them work. Still one of my favorite ships. I'm just flying smaller single seaters and not doing cargo right now. Main use for it was transporting Quantanium to the TDDs.
That's odd because the snub fighter and table used to work, they must have broke them. The reason i got the Aquila was because its a multi roll ship and you get three vehicles in one, the snub fighter an URSA rover and the ship itself, well worth the money.
Aquila is made mainly for exploration. It needs robust structure , including bridge glass. Accurare and efficient probe and sensor instruments are more important than a beautiful glass. You have other recreational ships in the game for that purpose
So, for the Connies, YOU cannot interact with the snub fighter on your own ship. But... others in your party can. And once they undock and dock it again, you will then be able to use it as well. It's a very odd bug.
Not sure about the Aquila but the Andromeda the merlin can undock and launch from the rear. Just yesterday on live I was able to do this and fight off a ship. After he was sufficiently scared off I was able to pull back up on the rear, request docking, and held N to dock back to the Andromeda. EDIT: Brios is a hot spot right now because people are duping drugs and selling them there. Brios is the most popular for this because it has the most drug buy terminals in its system. The drug buy terminals frequently bug out and stop working so Crusader is your best bet to find a working terminal instead of ArcCorp with only 1 without having to fly all the way to Microtech and test panels.
The snub fighter in the back does work...when it wants too from time to time. Try logging off in your ship on a different server. I've done this multiple times to correct it :)
Ollie, Andromeda > Aquila, Aquila loses a turret for a non functional scanner turret, except the cockpit window, that's better but you get used to it. side note: my Merlin works just fine in the PU :) I undocked my Merlin and went to the Aaron halo in search of salvage while they searched at Cru L1.
I find it still funny that after all that time in Star Citizen, you seemingly cannot distinguish between the icons for orbital markers (diamonds) and ground points of interest (hexagons). Still I admire your dedication and constant work. I might even trade my andromeda for an aquila down the line (my daily driver is a corsair, tbh)
No lie I saw the picture and my hands couldn't click fast enough. I am a MAJOR Connie Taurus Stan, which I hold in much higher esteem than any other Variant. Price per ship ratio, the Taurus LITERALLY can participate in every single game loop to a greater extent than the other constellations, all for an INCREDIBLY low price of 190 USD (compared to the Aquila at 310). I would be VERY hard pressed to think any of the other Connie variants are even remotely as valuable as the Taurus. My single gripe with the Aquila (aside from the rear side attached bomb) is that the bottom turret is the gun. Visuals from that turret location is awful. The Taurus, with the turreted tractor beams on the bottom and the weapons on the top is a MUCH better set up. Not to mention the MASSIVE cargo in the Taurus can hold snub ships on the interior so they aren't blown up during combat. I don't think the extremes benefit of DUAL size 2 tractor beams can be stated enough, while the scanning gameplay is also not fully fleshed out, I still believe the benefit of those tractor beams should not be undervalued. Especially if the tech for these beams can be utilized for so much more according to the SCL and ISC last month. We also know the Constellation will have the best gold standard pass since it is Christ Roberts favorite ship. p.s. The table in the Connies USED to be able to come up, just like the hot tub in the Phoenix used to open. There were a ton of issues with the tech, so we will see it come back someday. p.p.s the exploi has nothing to do with salvage, it has to do with manipulating the commodity kiosks.
If you spawn your Conny, fly of a little, bed log and sign in again, your sub actually works ! I even pledged the P72 and switched it with the Merlin. If you blowup redo the bed logging and it works again! You can store and retrieve it afterwards without any issue. Made me fall in love again with my Connie Also works in .1 and .2
The table in the connies used to work. No idea why they deactivated it. Conny is one of my most anticipated rework ships. 600i will be amazing when reworked, but it is also massive so not as impressed by it. Connie has a decent amount of space available, but it was laid out in the typical gamey way. The phoenix is the only version that actually uses the hull volume well and does not make it just a straight hallway with stuff along the side walls. I would love to see the cargo areas reworked. Would like to see it just one level when the elevator is up. I don't like that you have to climb down a ladder to get to the cargo elevator. If the front section was aligned to the bottom of the cargo area, then there would be a flat walkway from front to the elevator. On the exterior it would give the conny a bit of a hump back look but would also give the opportunity to place a second deck and have either a nice front windowed kitchen area or put the crew quarters up top. The aquilla view is definitely better, but still it is weird. Yeah there are struts which sort of make sense. But the placement of the struts are something that no manufacturer would ever do. We have struts in cars. Not once has a manufacturer ever put the A pillar directly in front of the driver's view. Even sitting in the aquilla the aiming reticule which is directly to the front is placed on the strut meaning the manufacturer who hung the seats and could have put them at any height, decided to put them just perfectly aligned with the struts so looking directly ahead your view is partially blocked by the struts. You want to aim your fixed weapons at something, well that point of aim is directly behind that strut on the windshield.
Idk aside from the front window I think the aquila is by far the worst of all connie variants. It has less firepower than the andromeda or even the phoenix and doesn't offset it with a bigass storage like the taurus does. And I gotta say in flight the cockpit view somehow feels more cluttered than the standard cockpit. Imo the andromeda is by far the best bang for your buck for the forseeable future, simply because exploration gameplay is still so far off.
Phoenix is pretty, for those who care about that (also comes with the better fighter fresh from a claim) loses S2 missiles - Andromeda cheapest and best all-round (S1 and S2 missiles), Taurus, no fighter, no S1 missiles, big cargo. Aquila. Replaces the best turret with one that does nothing.
Loved the music choice while showing the bar in the phoenix. And loved your answer to not be able to play, next level concierge level. Loved the humour, light hearted tone as always and excitment in your voice.
Yes, the table was planned to come up and maybe when the Constellations get the gold standard pass it will again. The one drawback (kindof) of the Aquila is you only have one turret. The other is a non-working scanner (at this time). Oh, and I noticed you are wearing your "Space Whale ...er Marshal" armor.
Andromeda was my third pledge, until I melted it for the Limited Edition Phoenix week ago. Fell in love with both. Does everything for me too, along with free P-72 and Lynx. Also the snub is working in the Phoenix. I think they probably fixed that in the PTU.
The table used to work. The Connie's in general need a rework (again) before achieving gold status. The habitation section will get quality of life improvements.
Funnily enough the Merlin docking works with my Andromeda just fine! Had a lot of fun with a few friends using it recently. The biggest problem with Constellations is that if you lose a pilot gun to an environmental collision you won’t be able to re-equip it, for whatever reason. I lost mine to an asteroid and have to wait for the wipe to get it back😅 Fantastic ship otherwise though. Still my favorite in the game no matter what new ships I try.
Same here, the merlin works on my Andromeda, but SOMETIMES there is no interact button. It seems to be on some servers. Docking/undocking is just SO FUN
Love the Connie series, though I don't own one currently. Not a fan of that table being part of the floor though... I mean, from a hygiene persepective, who wants to eat off a surface that everyone has been walking around on in their grubby space boots?
I'd argue that the Andromeda is the best and the snub still works. Granted the visibility on the Aquila is better but you lose a turret for the scanner.
I have both the Aquila and Andromeda, Aquila will better at Exploration once it's implemented, But the Andromeda will be better at Fighting. Aquila sacrifices the Dorsal turret guns for an enhanced scanner array, And gives up alot missile. Andromeda has the upper turret with a pair of S2 laser repeaters and a total of 54 missiles S1 and S2.
The visibility in the Connie cockpit is absolutely ridiculous. I don’t know what they thought they were doing making such poor viability on the flagship of the game near enough. It needs a major rework because to inflict such poor viability on pilots is just plain dumb. 3.18 remains a complete mess.
I've recently joined the game, had a Cutlass Black but with all the seat problems upgraded to a Conni, have to say I actually like the current two bars in center of the screen because they provide a backdrop to the QT figures so you can see when its ready even when facing right into the damn sun which I always seem to be doing!.
the snubfighter may always be bugged out, it is a fine ship, but Corsair can do everything at a cheaper price, a nice big cargo area in the back, big enough to park pisces, merlin or rover, no constellation can do that, If you dont ram wings off of a corsair, constellation will be outgunned.
Short after release of the Constellation Andromeda the table was working it got seperated deployed upwards and then you sit down but at the current state its disable hopefully with the Gold Standard rework it will come back working ... in the first conny it was a round table which came down from the roof but its long ago back to 2014/15
Love the Constellation: Aquila, but it's quite expensive to re-fuel/repair/re-arm at the stations "well when I took mine for a tour of the four planets and moons before 3.18 it was" Yea that station is very buggy, with the random security scans "that take about 20 min" and what I found today after waiting and finally landing I could not get out of my seat. Hahaha. Note with the Aquila as it's an exploratory vessel, it only has a bottom gun turret where as the top turret is for scanning "hopefully system scanning once they implement this feature into the game" o7
the Aquila in the constellation series is like the M2 in the hercules series useless got nothing going for themself like if you want cargo take the Taurus, you want pvp/pve take the Andromeda it also has 2 turrets to have friends or crew aboard. or in the hercules case you want cargo take C2, you want pvp/pve take the A2. the other day i got kidnapt in a constellation and i was able to escappe / steal the snub fighter no problem gething out and fly away .10:00 they are still shooting at the crops it takkes a while to respawn in jail so in the meantime the turrets keep on firering. ''its an alpha'' :P there is nto realy a economy yet the best they can do with it is buy themself ships for a while till next wipe takes all their ships away again.
9:23 I mean they can add a perimeter around ports and stations where ships gets despawned automatically. Like it's not as if you can salvage them without getting a crimestat
0:40 Bloody hell, that's exactly what I did as well. It's the weekend after patch day and I'm sitting there, bored out of my mind while I am waiting for the servers to let me in. So what do I do? Exactly! Melt that Hornet for the shiny new Vulture and oh! While I'm at it I'm kinda liking the Taurus over my FatMAX so away with you! Next thing I know is CIG handing me a golden pistol and a bloody top hat, leaving me deeply concerned over my life choices.
The table used to come up, back in like 3.7 and earlier, but now it doesn't. It will be fixed, but it's not a priority at the moment. This is akin to the hot tub on the Phoenix, that used to open up as well too.
Hi there! I love your videos and cant wait to fly in this game. Im currently building a PC to handle this. The Aquila is a ship I am most excited about if what I am thinking comes true. I want to take a crew around the verse and explore and find new things for what ever story line they have coming, ancient ruins, alien tech, new NAV points, New worm holes, etc... I want to scan and analyze data to unlock in game content by solving puzzles and maybe treasure map like adventures. Would be cool to fly along side you when my RIG gets built! Have a good one!
Actually I am afraid you choose the wrong game for this gameplay. Elite Dangerous is shining about this, I didn't think we will ever get it one day. It is planned "only" 100 systems and if they are added one at a time you will not have many things to discover with your Aquilqa.
Constellations will always have struts since it is an old ship in lore but if you don’t want struts and still be rsi whenever the galaxy is in the game it would be the right ship for you
I am surprised that the Snub is not working on the Aquila. It works PERFECT on 3.18.0 on the Andromeda and I use it a lot when my org uses my Connie as a Salvage Freighter to scout new locations, leaving the Connie behind.
But what does make the Aquila better than the Andromeda beside the Front Bars? The Andromeda has one more turret on the other hand and has more of a punch in combat with Multicrew. The Scanning Turret has no purpose right now.
This ship was the second ship I bought. It does everything very well and when Rhino'd up it is a force to be reckoned with. The orange skin looks awesome on it.
If the struts would have been gone or at least reworked, to a less bulky design I would keep the Taurus. I would love it if it could have the same cockpit like the Mantis. But CIG doesnt want it so use it as a base for CCU'ing it to a ship with better visibility or like a lot of people i know... simply melt it into store credits and buy something usefull. CIG seem to dont understand that glas can be formed and visability is very important for a lot of people..an optional redesign would be cool i would even pay an extra for this option!!!😅 do it CIG.. Do It!!
Oh damn, the recent weeks I was trying to stop myself expanding my fleet with the Aquila and tried reasoning. Now you come up with this.... That will finally make me upgrade my useless scorpius.
The table used to work. When I first bought the Andromeda the table would be up by default. Somewhere they seemed to have disabled it or a bug causes it to malfunction.
I personally like the Andromeda better, you should really make a video about it too. Edit: Changed my mind, Phoenix is better. Even though it isn't better equipped. It doesn't matter, Phoenix just looks better inside and that's all the matters.
I love the Valkyrie but it really requires two turret crew to become a PVE wrecking ball. Great VTOL, cool looking, fair cargo space and a military drop ship. With a gold pass, the Valkyrie will be fantastic. I do feel it needs the missile racks like the drop ship from Aliens movie.
The table on the constellation does rise up from the ground but its been broken for a number of patches now. Assumptions range from the connie will be reworked to the table isn't necessary right now so its not an important bug to fix.
I just wish they would make the cargo bay just a smidge broader. You can fit the Ursa in there right now, but it's a very tight fit and with the typical SC jank, it might bug out and destroy the wheels of the Ursa or even the whole ship. E.g. why do we need a docking ring on both sides? forego one site, make the bay broader and problem solved.
Connies will eventually get a refresh, fixing the table and the jacuzzi in the Phoenix, and adding a proper component bay. I do hope the manned turrets are replaced with remote turrets, as doing so opens a lot of space in the command deck.
The Taurus has been my “live in” ship since like 2013. 🤣 I could be remembering this wrong but I was under the impression that the original documents suggested modularity for things like putting a hanger back on the Taurus. But maybe I’m just remembering it wrong.
The official Taurus brochure says "Want more? Every Constellation is prefitted for an expansion station - you can choose and purchase from our upcoming range of options, includ- ing command, exploration and enter- tainment." But it also says that the Taurus is the smaller of all Connies withe 58,8 meters long for 61,1 for other Connies... so meh!
Constellation was my pledge, I just wish the ship got more love and attention from CIG as its still very bare bones.
Same. I got the phisical package pack way back in bout 2013. I love the ship, just wish my table came back haha. I have the andramada.
@tweakyification corsair much better though. I got one myself and I absolutely LOVE it
@tweakyification how is the corsair? I've been trying to find someone to let me test fly before I start saving for one. Is the maneuverability similar to the connie?
@tweakyification nice I want one because I just like the idea of a heavily armed multipurpose ship I can pilot by myself if my friends are busy and the cargo bay that can hold most vehicles is a big plus too.
Just wish the hot tub worked when I had mine
Each of the Constellation series is solid. I have a taurus loaner, and it's built for trading but still a 8/10 or higher combat ship. The pilot guns it gives you, even barebones, are more than enough.
Taurus is my favourite all round ship
my friend has a taurus and i cant lie it deffo has been the back bone for us, done everything we needed and thenn some. really good ship
I prefer the Andromeda just based on the missile count. Unless they've changed it now
One great thing about persistence is that locations like that scrapyard can form a story over time. Before it was a clean slate constantly, but now the traces of time are there to see.
One time I saw an abandoned aurora and dead pilot on there. I go there the next day and see a naked dead person and a salvaged aurora. Very cool.
the problem is now about next to every outpost you can find at least 3 shipwrecks and the same thing in and and infront of hangers
its just piling up everywhere and that is kindof a probem tbh
@@blyzz5867 one way they could do to mitigate that, would be by having some kind of garbage service NPC's or something, that would be fun to play as if they decided to let players do it as well.
@@chilledburrito that sounds like a great idea tbh
the question is will they implement it
and if they do how long will it take them
The constellation series will always be my first love but it has been ignored for so long.
I cant wait for t hem to get to the connies. I love my Andromeda and will always be my favorite ship
The Constellation Andromeda was my first pledge with Star Citizen in 2014 and was for a minute gonna be my Hero Ship. Although it ultimately got replaced in my fleet by the Mercury Star Runner I still have in a special place in my heart for this ship.
@@kobrraful I just want them to unlock those bottom guns again. I want the option to put four S5s on it.
Constellation?
@@Nathdood yes. for some reason I kept calling it "Constitution". Probably because in Star Trek, the Enterprise is a Constitution Class Starship. I suppose I could edit it.....
I want to see the rework of the Constellation series of ships more than anything else.
I do not recall him stating any such thing about swapping the bridges. Can you provide a link to this?
@@Ratswallow In their stretch goals for back when they asked for funding, they announced they will allow ALL ships to be modular.
However, from right now I am very sure this will either never be implemented or very, very, very, very late.
The Carrack also has two modular sections (The cargo sections) and I have no clue what exactly you are supposed to switch it out with. But I can see that being a ton of work, as I have no clue about game creation.
Ì may be relatively new to SC, but I've learned that whenever CIG says "we want to", "we aim to", "the aim is", etc. to just not believe until you can do/see it in-game
@@AnymMusic Oh, you learned quick. Good job!
Taurus is the #1 most versatile ship in the game. No other ship can do everything that it does as well as it does across the board.
And it is also the most affordable of all Connies, either in game or irl
The taurus is going to be my go to. especially when they put in tractoring weapons and such off of other ships. can do missions and do some quick salvage without exiting the ship.
Yep, for me also. And the back cargo area is shielded from scans also. So good for smuggling also
For solo the Taurus is definitely better than the Aquila.
I like the idea of rolling around in a Taurus with a ROC and a Cyclone in the belly so I can jump between the chill of mining and bunker mission etc. without having to constantly claim and swap ground vehicles about
@testiculargforce so 11 months later, which one did you choose ?
Reminds me of seeing the Concorde in its hangar! They really nail the ship designs in this game.
They should implement salvaging clean up missions around outposts and vehicle spawn areas with a community service bonus
Salavge missions are coming with 3.19
This. And they should incentivise players to pick up bottles and cans, trash, medical gowns etc.
I can see an alternative to klescher in this, just have orange suits cleaning up areas instead of prison time.
I much prefer the Taurus because I like it’s hanger space and amenities.
Don't forget the Andromeda, it has a bit less cargo space but double the fire power.
As a Taurus pilot myself, I'm glad more people are able to appreciate this thing.
I agree. It needs a dedicated entrance and bathroom for VIP passengers. I find myself using the cargo lift because it's classier.
Welcome to the Golden Armor club! Cocktail hour is at 5pm in the forward bar of the 890j
Can even mine if you add 2 Rocs
Upgraded my owned ship to an andromeda a while back and love it. So much firepower, still easy to maneuver, you can play with a crew or without one, haul cargo, use the small fighter that comes with for smaller skirmishes and exploration, whole thing is top tier... even with the 200 some dollar price tag or however of my kids college fund money i blew on it
😂🤣 thay was funny..
Agreed!
It really is something else.
i have the andromeda and am also avidly awaiting being able to use my ship to its full capacity again.
The snub nose has been functioning all week for me
@@Illfury in the Andromeda it's working for you?
I heard while 3.18 was on the PTU it was fixed. It's been working for me as of the last few weeks.
@@aesericho3651 is this not working with Aquila? We did it about 4x tonight with my Andromeda
@@blackndmild246 yes. We just did it 4 seperate occasions in tonight's session
Love the Aquila! I don't do any fighter combat, so the Taurus is the Connie I fly at the moment, but they're great ships!
Yeah I'm starting to appreciate more and more the value, storage, and solo/crewed multi-role awesomeness that is the Connie Taurus.
The table did work a long time ago. Like 3.15 or so. It hasn't since.
I like struts in the windows, makes it look more realistic. Big glass domes look fragile
the docking works. you have to store the ship again to access the merlin. you cannot use the merlin if the connie is fresh
If you spawn your Conny, fly of a little, bed log and sign in again, your sub actually works ! I even pledged the P72 and switched it with the Merlin.
If you blowup redo the bed logging and it works again!
You can store and retrieve it afterwards without any issue.
Made me fall in love again with my Connie
Also works in .1 and .2
The table in the connies used to work.
Connie(andromenda to be exact) is THE beginner ship. Super cheap to rent with crazy firepower even solo.
I lost mine to an asteroid and have to wait for the wipe to get it back😅
Fantastic ship otherwise though. Still my favorite in the game no matter what new ships I try.
Same here, the merlin works on my Andromeda, but SOMETIMES there is no interact button. It seems to be on some servers.
Docking/undocking is just SO FUN
Yeah it's awesome! I can't wait to try it out with my crew during xenothreat
My favorite ship since I started playing SC. I gave it up when I purchased my 600i, but in this patch I got it back. The Aquila is so cool!
Constellation is pretty cool, love the cargo elevator on it
Tbh the Aquila at the moment is pretty pointless till they put in passenger missions , the Taurus is just far more useful at the moment and cheaper
When you get down to Brio's Breaker yard, don't forget to tell Scooter, Scooter sent ya!
I am always conflicted between the Con A and Taurus but for me they are the dogs Twitcher.
I personally like the Andromeda better, you should really make a video about it too.
Edit: Changed my mind, Phoenix is better. Even though it isn't better equipped. It doesn't matter, Phoenix just looks better inside and that's all the matters.
Yes wake up on a moon in a Phoenix and looking through all the windows to admire the landscape is one of my favorite moments in this ship 😊
To fix the snub fighter issue just call the ship, store it, then call it again and it works every time.
The table used to work. I saw a review of the Taurus from several years ago and sure enough, the table rose up from the floor.
The official Taurus brochure says "Want
more?
Every Constellation is
prefitted for an expansion station -
you can choose and purchase from
our upcoming range of options, includ-
ing command, exploration and enter-
tainment."
But it also says that the Taurus is the smaller of all Connies withe 58,8 meters long for 61,1 for other Connies... so meh!
