Hey Peter, you don't "have" to do anything :D But it does sound more natural when linking words. Natives don't always link every single word, because sometimes we pause between phrases to stop to think, etc. But it's worth practicing if you want to sound more natural when speaking English.

Do I have to link every word in every sentence or just depend on certain situations where the linking isn’t involved?
