It's been a while. The Razor 3 was one of the best shoes I ever had. Ran my first marathon in the razor 3.
I'd definitely try the razor 4.

I'm a Razor fan but I always suggest people go a half size up, especially if they have even moderately wide feet. On my first pair, which I got true to size, I had insane blisters on my big toes because they run narrow. Once I made that adjustment to my sizing, Skechers has been so so good.
Yeah, I get major hot spots on my toes in almost every Skechers shoe, but it's the only brand that give me fits like that - R

I’m cautiously optimistic. I like the midsole compound of the current razor a lot. I hope they can do the peba midsole well. I’m a Skechers believer, but these look like the Pegasus next nature and endorphin pro 3 had a baby. Can’t wait for the full review
I like what I see! I've had sizing issues with skechers newer shoes lately as well. They need to widen the toebox a bit.

It looks like they vastly improved the outsole pattern, hopefully the rubber compound has improved. I constantly harp about how fast the compound, even when they switched to Goodyear, wear down. I was an early Skechers fan, the MaxRoad is still one of my fav daily trainers, but have started to gravitate to FuelCell and PWRRUN PB shoes in the last two years because they just feel better than the firm Hyperburst compounds. I recently did my own effort / pace comparison to select a shoe for a road mile, and the RC Elite2 beat the Speed Freek, even the Endo Speed2 beat it. Maybe this TPU critical foam will improve on the old Hyperburst compound.
Good job on the initial overview Thomas and Robbe! One slight correction- Robbe mentioned that the razor 4 has a carbon plate. This is not 100% accurate, the razor 4 uses a carbon infused midsole material not a “normal plate”. During my testing, I found my it a much more “subtle” and barely noticeable plate reaction as compared to a shoe like the Endorphin Speed.

This looks more like a razor excess than the 3/3+ line. What do you guys think? what is the stack height on this shoe? It looked more in line with the Excess stack.

Hey gents...thanks again for a comprehensive review. Would you say that the Razor 4 is comparable (redundant) to the Endorphine Speed 3 -- which I use for tempo and threshold runs. I was thinking of using the Razor 4 for easy runs with 4 x 20sec strides at the end. Thank you.

I find Sketchers fit TTS but narrow. I have wide feet. This one looks wider than the previous model?
To get to Robbie's point about the shoe being too big and gonna half size down, I'm a size 10 1/2 and have both the Razor 3 and Speed Elite size 11, and they felt small on my feet. I'm hoping it's not the same for the new version. Maybe I would just gave to go true to size.

Like Thomas, I have narrow feet. Maybe that's why Skechers fits me true to size. Hey guys, check out the Ride 10! It's a winner this time around. Love my pair:-)

I like the walks. They do a nice job of showing off the city for it's charm.

Skechers still hasn't fixed the medial toebox curving in too soon I see? Even going up a full size Robbe is seeing this rubbing. After 10yrs you'd think Skechers would wise up and update their shoe lasts. I'm assuming it gained weight as well, looks chunkier.

I actually do! Skechers Max Road 5 is probably one of my top 5 favorite shoes ever and I almost always recommend the GoRun Ride to anyone who's starting out running - R

Skechers really need to improve their design on some other shoes to compete with other brands.

funny, i actually like the 'speed' and it's a nice throwback to the 3, but i hate that sickly yellow color which for some reason seems to be popular with now with lots of running shoes
