You know. The same tool used to tighten metal bands on CV axle boots. Can be used to tighten the metal bands on your header wrap. Most local part stores should be able to get the tool for you
I'm so happy that I found a channel doing a V8 swap on an s10. Now I can watch to see what type of problems I'm going to be dealing with. Im going with a 305 sbc with a 700r4 trans. When I get the parts I might be doing a build on my channel.
Would definitely look to get a 350 sbc 4 bolt main. I have a 305 and a 700r4 in my s10 and it needs more power!!
Quinn Russell I'd love to run a 350 and a turbo 400 but with the gas prices right now the 305 with the 700r4 would be better. Plus I'm only 16 so a good paying job is a bit harder to find.

Yeah that stuff isn't easy he really did good I liked that ending part but I still can't get the hang of it or exactly how to do it all yet but I do best I can lol it's hard and I record with my phone but I just picked up a gopro

usually headers with that black paint it is not heat resistant paint, it's just black paint to protect the headers from rusting, I sand this black paint off then get high temperature header paint and then repaint them and then you can wrap them
headers come from the factory with non heat resistant paint , it's just paint to stop them from rusting , I take a wire brush and drill then try to get the most I can off , hard to get places get sandpaper , and then I get the propane torch and burn any other missed area's , after they are shinning steel again , I get high temp paint ,1200° degrees Fahrenheit or higher , black stove paint from the hardware store is 2000° degrees Fahrenheit and works great , then if you want them painted white , wait at least a day or two for paint to cure , then paint white , or skip the wait by baking in a oven , do not use mom's oven , she will kill you and it's toxic , use an old oven at 400° degrees for 30 minutes , remember test with a fork and it tastes like chicken

Yea wet it down with water next time, you will be able to get it wrapped so much tighter. Using one of the center tubes you should of just kept going around both tubes down to the collector instead of cutting both. Less seams and you might of gotten it tighter and you wouldnt have needed the metal strap in the middle of the center tubes. Still looks nice thol. i like the white wrap but it would get dirty af.
We sell a tool at oreillys that wrenches down the wire ties if u go and ask for the wire tie tool I’m sure they will k ow what u mean.
I would totally wrap my headers too but it rains too much in Georgia

Those s10 Blazer's are beast I have a 1990 2 door and a extended cad short bed both 4.3s but I want to os swap them
did the same thing on my s10 but with the metal ties on the collector your gonna have a really shitty time getting to the collector bolts so we used hose clamps so we could take them off to get to the bolts so we dont blow collector gaskets
When installing an ls engine in a 2000 s10 extended xtreme do you have to use the stock ecu plus the ecu that comes with the ls engine. If so how do you connect them together. I like your show and would appreciate your feedback. THANKS hushpups.
