    Would you consider going through the final export processes, I've used treeIt for a while and UE4 for over 3 years and your lighting on foliage is always perfect. I attempted to make a similar tree and your leaves look so much more fluffly. Love all your videos

      Using a texture with soft edges on the leaves it will give them a more fluffy look

    Very nice tutorial! Do you think an alpha map with little greyscale gradients between leaf groups to create some sort of nice looking layering would work? Or is it important for performance or leave it in a 0 and 1 cutout mode? I've no experience with these types of things.

    • @marpetakdev
      @marpetakdev  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that if you would have gray, everything above 0.5 would be 1 and below 0, only for transparent materials, you can use numbers in between as an opacity slider.

      @@marpetakdev Oh sorry I did not see that, thank you so much. I used the grass wind nodes from the previous tutorial on my leaves material which created a nice wind effect, do you think it is possible to use this on the tree mesh as well?

    • @marpetakdev
      @marpetakdev  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wedgeclan952 Yes, it is just an function that moves with the verticies. You can also make your own wind but that's quite advanced.

    how do you get more leaves than 400? i use not very dense textures for realism, but my trees just look barren when using this software, as I can't add enough leaf cards. Is there a way to add more leaf cards than just 400? if I type in a larger number it doesn't do anything

    • @marpetakdev
      @marpetakdev  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try scaling up the leaves.

    hey! nice tutorial, i have a question, what happend if insted of creating a transparent texture (white leaf and transparent background) for the leaf i just use the black and white one, and i use in opacity mask in UE, i mean the texture is going to be black in tree it until i put the opacity mask in Unreal, i tryed it and it works but i dont know if it is expensive for optimization

    • @marpetakdev
      @marpetakdev  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it doesn't matter until the texture is in the same format.

Cause i use bridge, and There are plenty of atlases like leaf of any type, i totally recommend it to you, when you download the leaf that you want You can use the opacity mask and i just cut at the corners but it keeps having a black part from the background so it's impossible to make a png texture hahaha the name of the software is quixel bridge it's complitely free with Your unreal engine account!
