Heyyy, so I watched your video step by step, I downloaded it to my laptop and phones. I also have a app on my phone that's call you video where I do my all editing. For some reason when I open my intro in this app it doesn't do anything, but I open it in my gallery it does what it suppose to do. Pretty please help me
Wasn't sure where to ask this but, has anyone noticed a reduction in image quality on TH-cam lately? Not with this video but on other channels, especially with motion or complex scenes, such as lots of trees? I see a lot of macro-blocking (I think it's called) - used to happen on 420p and lesser playback settings but now I'm seeing it on 720p as well, even for channels lucky enough to have VP9 video encoding.

Such great suggestions. I have used a few of these that you mentioned in the past and really after looking at them all I went with the ScreenFlow...for some reason the downloading process was a nightmare not like a typical download...I love that way it works but the 2 hours or more to try to figure out why the downloading, licensing and other issues "ain't nobody got time for that". They do offer a follow along video to help but you should offer different looks downloading. A few steps were skipped! Thanks for your suggestions...it helped me make my decision.
Guys, remember that OBS does allow you to record your screen + add transitions and stuff that makes production super easy, you don't have to stream on Twitch, it's super easy to use and there are lots of youtube tutorials if you get stuck :)
YES! but it doesn't have any paid tier so no affiliate money to be made there lol
but it sucks on Mac it cant record internal audio
Obs is hard as hell to use for me and my family, even after watching multiple videos.

Thanks so much for the Mac command + shift + 5. So easy to record the screen. I tried Quick Time Player and couldn't understand what was wrong. These commands make it a breeze!

Yes! It's an all-in-one capture tool. However, for screenshots I specifically use SnagIt.

Thank you so much for this educational tutorial. Amazing presentation and good stuff. For me Canva seems better as to start with, but I will try to look at other options too. At the moment, I am trying to sue the FREE version of Camtasia and Look. Let's see how it works. What is your opinion about OBS? For me, it's really technical and not so user friendly.
Thank you for sharing, what is the file size compared on different platforms? Is there a difference in quality vs size? Files pile up so fast, I am now looking for ways to optimize HD space.
OBS with Davinchi resolve (free video editor) is the best free combination i think. no limitation on quality or length

Great video. Is there a way to pause screen recording using the quicktime function with macbook pro? There were a couple videos on youtube suggesting hitting the ESC key, then Option/Pause but this doesn't seem to work now. ESC key doesn't change anything. Thanks

Thanks for the video Aurelius. I want to record my online video class which probably would last about 8 hours. Which one would be the best option?
Can any of these tools able to record the screen and camera at the same time on different video tracks.. so you can later edit them in post processing? If i want to later move the camera bubble to a different location or to hide it completely as it may interfere with some content in the screencapture. I think Quicktime recording at least mixes the two into one video so you can’t later toggle camera capture on/of or relocate/resize the camera picture in picture.

Hi Aurelius , this was such a great video ! 😀 you have inspired me to make more content like this , quick question, do you use screen flow for just recording the screen, or do you use it for editing the final video as well? was jus wondering if it can replace something like final cut or adobe premiere ? And what you use ? Thanks
That's a good question. You could get away using ScreenFlow to edit most videos but it depends what you're editing. If you're going to be doing lots of color grading, correcting, and effects, ScreenFlow isn't good for that. If your videos are mainly screen recording, then ScreenFlow is all you need. I've dialled in my camera settings so that I don't need to do any major color correcting so I edit everything in ScreenFlow for my screen tutorial based videos. For videos where it's 100% talking head, I use Adobe Premiere Pro. ScreenFlow is going to give you more options for screen effects specifically (scaling/zooming, mouse cursor effects, etc).

@@AureliusTjinDo you ever import the footage from screenflow to premiere or final cut? I mean If you do the nice layout if the picture in the bubble in screnflow and the rough cut and then import that video to premiere/final cut for adding intro, cool transitions etc?

Thank you very much for this video, much appreciated. Exactly what I was looking for. I think with the PC connected to the iMac over Microsoft Remote Desktop, and with three monitors, I can leverage the native Mac OS recorder to record the PC screen as displayed on the iMac screen. Can't beat that I guess. But tempted to check the free trial of Camtasia...
Try OBS studio, it’s an open source screen recording software. I personally use it for my channel. You can use it for screen recording or stream on TH-cam, twitch and other streaming services. It’s pretty good and lots of people use it, because of this there are lots of tutorials online if you get stuck. :) hope this helps. 😁

Thanks for doing this video. I've used Mac screen recording, but for some reason on my M1 Mac Mini the resolution is poor when I zoom in. Also can't see an option for resolution. So I'm definitely checking out your suggestions. :)

@@AureliusTjin circling back after some success and struggle...I've switched to ScreenFlow. While the multi video/audio sources are on both, and fine, the editing UI/UX feels much better to me on ScreenFlow. There appears to be no way to scrub audio in Camtasia, and the timeline hot keys are very limited in comparison. How you have a Mac native product that does not understand a Magic Track Pad, gestures, etc...beyond me. I'm also coming from a Premiere and Blender background for what that's worth where these type of keyboard/trackpad editing controls are deep. Food for thought.

If I want to use a different voiceover for video tutorials, what's the best way to do this?
I'm using OBS for recording only no need for streaming, but as soon as open the OBS start streaming or message show up : "could not access the specificed channel or stream key, double check your stream key....... .to the server".
Can I disable streaming so that no message appears ?
I've seen some videos that it can screen record using Canva, but when I try it out, the option is no there. You happen to know if its still available or got removed?
Loved the info here. I have used loom before, but the 5 mins time limit is a bit of a turn off.
Given the price of Camtesia Loom (paid) is a sensible choice.

Can you record on Loom Tablet when screen sharing?
Awesome Video Aurelius.. I am currently using inbuilt Mac Quicktime player, but I observed that the video is lagging after excatly 13 mins .. not sure if there is any specific issues.. did you noticed this any time.. I am thinking to switch to Loom..
If you're looking to start using a screen recorder, I highly recommend Vmaker. It's one of the easiest and most user-friendly tools I've come across. I've been using it for a while now and it has consistently delivered excellent results.

game bar doesnt work on my windows 11, is restricted and even going through settings and enabling things, just wont allow recording.

Has anyone figured out a way to record screen and audio (on mac) with only system sounds? I tried using my airpods, but the audio wasn't added. I tried without airpods and it picks up ALL the background noise and is also very "dull" sounding.
