Mountune MR265 Fiesta ST is 265hp of Pure Fun!

- I'm back at Mountune to have the axle-back exhaust system installed on my Focus RS, but in the mean time it would have been rude not to take the MR265 Fiesta ST out for a little drive on some of the tightest countryside roads I could find.
Overhauling the standard car, Mountune's top package takes power up 65hp, torque up 80Nm and brings the 0-60 down from 6.9s in the standard car to 5.7s. With all of that through the front wheels and a chassis that is set up like a go-kart, it makes for a hilarious amount of fun to drive.
More to follow with my new Focus RS exhaust in due course!

Hot Hatches are likely the best blend of daily livability and performance. Easy to drive, park, fuel efficient, fill it with friends, haul you dog around, cheap insurance, cheap parts, quick, tune-able, and great handling. Smiles for days.

It's great that Shmee continues to discover the virtues of cheaper fun cars that are more attainable.
Small cars with a boost in power are so much fun & are the perfect start to performance vehicles for many in their 20's. Remember 10 years ago when the Saxo was being tuned and improved. I miss those things.

But it has the same shape and practicality as a hot hatch.
So until a car manufacturer actually calls it a new class i would say it´s the fastest hot hatch on earth.

Tim I'm glad to see your appreciation of all types of cars, considering you can afford just about any car you desire. I also am looking at Mountune to relieve my itch of tuning my RS. Another great vid!

Glad to see you making proper blogs again with car review etc , I can see why so many modern fords are stolen very quickly though , the ease at which you can locate the OBD port is shocking best get an OBD port locking device

I would too but i got the Polo R and did software upgrade plus IC and exhaust and now i push 304 hp in that thing. That thing is crazy now, though Alooot of torque steer

265hp plus 1085kg is a very serious package.... I'm surprised your surprised how good it is.... these things are giant slayers... i know your used to the big hitters now days but this is a very serious performance car / package for the average man. Excellent cars , i had an st3 model and i still think its one of the best vehicles I've owned and I've had some tasty motors!!

Yeah! Finally Fiesta video on Shme150 channel. I enjoyed it a lot! I do have 2016 Fiesta Titanium with 1.0 100 BHP EcoBoost and it is also an awesome car :)
I need to add one more thing as a Ford and Fiesta especially big fan. Shme150 channel is one of my favourites and now finally it has an awesome Fiesta video! I had fingers crossed when Tim was buying Focus RS and then I commented that on one of my favourite channels there is finally Ford content. Now it is also a Fiesta content! :D

I bought myself the 2016 Ford Fiesta 1.6L EcoBoost GDTi last week and it is by far one of the best cars that I've driven for its price.
That fiesta looked like pure fun!

Cool video Tim, I love hot hatches, I would love to see more hot hatch content from you if possible. Yes, they're not as rare as some of the cars you drive, but they can be just as exciting in the right place and time!

Bought a 2016 Ford Focus se 2.0 handles great has a great shifter feel and the powers all up top so it feels like it's always pulling even though it's not fast lol

i love accessports. such a great little tuning tool. i think, as of right now, you can get them for subaru, porsche, ford, mitsubishi, nissan, and vw. very nice to be able to change maps on the fly for fuel, boost, timing, etc. ive used them in a number of cars to be able to tune for e85.

I was seriously considering a Fiesta as my first car, sadly Ford cars weren't selling well compared to Toyotas and Hondas, they left the country before I could ever test drive one..
This was a way more interesting video than any of the exotic car videos

I've got the Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost which produces 140BHP and I must agree with you Tim, it feels like a go-kart, so I can imagine what the MR265 is like! Such a fun little package!
OIanO great cars the 1liter. a lot of fun for a tiny engine, I was very surprised with mine!
I also do have one (2016 Titanium 1.0 100 BHP) and it is truly awesome. I just love it! Even this 100BHP one fills really nice in my opinion.

Red edition checking in. Love my 140. But I have been lucky enough to drive the 235 Mountune ST and I can confirm its absolutely a joy to drive. Only thing I had was after a few hours the stiff suspension gets really old. Was pretty happy to get my very comfy 140 back :-)

I'm very excited to hear the RS will be getting more attention from Mountune! Glad to see that the mod bug is biting.
Regarding modifying cars and warranties, as I live in Canada I'm afraid I'm not familiar with UK laws, but in North America modifications can only void warranties if it can be proven that a modification was the direct cause of a failure or problem on the car (Magnuson Moss Warranty Act). It might be worth checking into what is in place in your part of the world. It's unlikely that an exhaust system would cause any issues anyway, but as an example if you installed new suspension and then your turbo blew, the warranty couldn't be denied. However, if you switched out the turbo for a larger one and then blew the engine, a warranty claim could be denied.
My own Mk3 Focus is very heavily modified and has been in for a few small warranty repairs over the years, but because nothing was related to the modifications there were no issues.

My 2018 fiesta ST with opened up air box and 93 octane fuel will out run a Mustang late model with a v-6 and also the turbo charged Inline four cylinder 2.3 liter Mustang as well. with a SCT race tune and rpms set at 7000 rpms for a total gain of 29 hp at the wheels from 197 hp to 226 hp has turned this car into a little beast. This fist has run better than all my friends since I bought it new it just is an exceptionally fast car from the factory, we like to call it a dead ringer when the engine runs this good it ran a 6.4 0 to 60 before anything was done to it just shell 93 octane gas and flat foot shifting will get you there. Boost psi is always at 21 psi with flat foot shifting. The camshafts fazing was spot on from the factory, my friends fist were off the mark by quite a bit the intake fazing being off on one of my friends camshaft. And my other friends was off on both the intake and the exhaust cam fazing. With the new cai the dyno showed 235 wheel hp and 310 ft lb's torque. With E-30 100 octane fuel 243 whp was seen and 5.881 o to 60 and 14.2 quarter mile times at sea level and 99 mph trap speed. Tire spin in the first three gears having to feather foot the gas. and still ran this good

Just brought a fiesta st with only 3000 miles on the clock and love the drive but asking honestly is it worth tuning up.this is my every day drive car and already it makes me smile as standard just from how playful it is

Raees Qaisir the mp215 kit is £599 plus fitting, not sure how much they'll quote me as I want mp215 + fitting as well as fitting of their cat back exhaust and I also want them to do my first service

I see the fiesta as the modern equivalent of the 2000-2006 civic type r ep3, awesome fun and affordable. I think 265 is too much for tyres to handle in these conditions. could you limit boost in lower gears to reduce slip?
What Mini do you have? Mine is an R53 with a couple of mods and puts out 195hp and 186ft-lb at the crank! It's great fun and has been clocked at 6.1 seconds for 0-60mph!

Torque Pro on Android with a Bluetooth OBD2 receiver gives some nice performance displays and logging. Use it all the time on my Focus ST.
I have the MP215, even that is a smile maker.

Yeah there should be, and also there is a mr280 / mr285 kit but for some reason I can't see past mr230 on the site at the moment. Maybe supply issue

Hi Shmee, just thinking again of what car could be good for you... How about a Quadrifoglio ? You did like that car didn't you ? I think it could do the job, it can be a good support car, it can carry stuff and people, and it turns into something very playful and tail happy when you want it to as well... I mean, it's not quite as "full on GT" as what you might have in mind, but depending on what you are after I think it's worth having a think about it. Pierre (Courchevel B&B!)

I also do think that this Fiesta will fit very well to his car collection. What I would advice is buying this Fiesta, Mustang GT 350 R and along with Ford GT and Focus RS it would be a very nice Ford collection :D - but it just my opinion or rather my dream collection of cars ;)

There is always a point to more power in a tiny car, but you need to widebody or big turbo if you dont like spinning tires or torque steer.
