    Hey Adam had my mp215 fitted today. Love it to be honest. I didn’t feel the shove in third gear as much as you say but then I haven’t done motorway speeds yet and I imagine that’s where it really comes into play... one thing I have to say. In mine I actually I noticed second gear was a quite a bit more torque. Infact it spins the wheels a bit when I go for it in second. Overall verryyy happy. Very underated 👋

      Adam Rainey hey adam just watched ur preview on the mountune 215 and I'm picking my 2016 plate up Saturday should I get the cob access point stick remote thing lol.but if it is not with the car should I be asking the dealership where it is or is that not a problem if they don't have it...and great preview by the way

    • @AdamRainey
      @AdamRainey  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Paul, if you are getting a car that is 215 already but doesn't have the accessport/mtune it is likely that it was tuned at a dealership who would have used a laptop to load the tune. If you live in the UK I'm not sure if you could get an accessport to just plug in and go. We seem to be restricted to what mountune will let us have. Cheers!

    Hi Adam,
    I will be getting my fiesta st this year, I had the old ST and loved it but sold it for a BMW 3 series and hated it, so then priced myself out of having the fiesta st and ended up with fiesta zetec S, so I'm just trying to find out as much as I can before I put a smile back on my face with the st, so what's an induction kit do on top of a mountune upgrade?
    Thanks Jay

    Hello Adam, great video as ever! i have stage 1 by DVX Performance, as you know, and it´s similar to Mountune MP215. Very important air intake, i felt increasing of power, but it´s important too GFB (go fast bits) turbo valve that i put for lag of turbo, it works better, it´s bigger and faster than stock turbo valve. And another thing that i made with remap was the gasoline: i put 98 octanes now, i put 95 in the begining.
    Cheers!

    • @fluffymat1
      @fluffymat1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sentencia sentencia i asked mountune about using the gfb dv valve with there mp215 they there is no need to its all been tested using the ome valve and don't recommend it

    • @santiagobalea5936
      @santiagobalea5936 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      fluffymat1 May be as Mountune and you tell but the GFB valve is bigger and faster than stock valve, i should like you see it. I felt more power in down when i put it. A friend of mine, that is specialist in turbos, tell me that he likes more than stock valve too and he knows about this. I only feel that i 'm very happy in this moment as my car run.... : D

    Hey man, good vid. Having driven for 10 years my first car (CRX mk 2) and now upgraded to 2013 ST MP 215 just like yours, I do have some really unpleasant experience with the gearing and I would love to get anyone else's opinion on this. The CRX had a very light flywheel with almost instantaneous rev response, and I could easily rev match up and down. In comparison the ST flywheel feels many times heavier, when I rev match I have to account for like 1-1.5 sec delayed revving from pressing the gas until the desired rev. Also another issue I have is the huge stepping between 1st and 2nd gear, this affects worst when I start up an incline and when shifting up into 2nd I would like to do it so that upon shifting the revs are at 2000+ since I am climbing an incline and don't want to lug the engine. But to do so, I need to rev in 1st gear up to 4000-4500 before upshifting so I can continue at 2000 in 2nd. If you want to drive civilized in the city this is pretty insane. And the final issue I have is the rev hang, when I upshift I either de-clutch fast and the car jerks forward strongly because of the revs are kept up, or I have to wait with the clutch pressed for 2-3 seconds until they climb down slowly to a rev match so I can shift smoothly and feel comfortable.
    Sorry for the long text but would love to hear someone else's opinion. And don't get me wrong I'm not an old fart wanting to drive it like a Prius, but I could drive really fast AND comfortable aat the same time on my CRX by rev matching accurately, but on the ST it seems I have to choose either one or the other (fast shifts with strong jerks forward, or super slow shifts to achieve rev matching). Peace out.

    @FalconXE302 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    In Australia, I notice the MP215 improvement in each and every gear... especially above 4500 RPM in first... it gets to 6500 much quicker... then the biggest improvement for me is second and third... and I think there's no boost handicap in second any more.

    Looking at getting this done in about 1-2 years time, paying the car off over 5 years. I'm a bit of a noob with cars and car mods if im honest
    I looked at the Mountune website and looks like you have to take it to them to get done at their HQ and not do it yourself.
    Do you use regular Unleaded Fuel or do you use the Premium one out of curiosity, when i first got the car the dealer said use regular and every now and then put in a bit of Premium, dont know if thats just to have cleaner fuel/engine. I got a 17 plate keep hearing about these Eco Boost problems.

    • @AdamRainey
      @AdamRainey  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will love it if you get it done. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself then you can get it done at a range of dealerships around the country but you can certainly do it yourself and it won't affect warranty as long as you do it right ;) I always use 97 octane fuel. They would have said that for the cleaning agents they put in premium yea but I run premium for that plus a brighter burn, even if it is only a small improvement. You will be grand with a 17 plate, the problem stemmed from the original spec of coolant tank or something like that but yours will probably have the newer version

    • @AdamRainey
      @AdamRainey  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steven Kennedy Cheers Steven 😃 The only place to get it dealer fitted is Lisburn trust Ford. I did my own fitting, mp215 is fairly simple to do I think. Beyond, such as mr230 is a bit more involved

      @iSteveGWT 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Adam Rainey I ended up fitting it myself last week while off work for a few weeks and it took less than an hour after watching your installation video, cheers mate it was a brilliant help!
      Its definitely a noticeable difference in power after driving for a few weeks, i thought about it for a good few months before buying and i think its well worth the money.
      Im just waiting on mountune getting the silicone induction hose and a few other things in stock, they seem to take ages to get new stock in.
      Got the sparco aerial fitted too it looks great and the frozen white body coloured wiper jets on the bonnet from ebay for £15 are a great touch and fitted in 5 minutes.
      Looking forward to seeing a more mods for the ST on your channel mate, cheers!

    Great review mate. Even though this vid in 5 years old. I honestly do believe there are much better options. I'm getting a Superchips ECU remap that will allow my ST to produce 228BHP. This is with no other mods other than a high flow air filter. So If I were to get an induction kit I would be looking at about 240BHP and this for about £350 btw. So about £400 cheaper for "more" of an upgrade. Something for anyone to consider if they have recently purchased an ST.

    Anyone know the best way to go about getting these kits fitted ? Newbie ST owner of a few months. What other upgrades are needed?

    • @bongodave13
      @bongodave13 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The MP215 comes with the intake and the handset. If you want warranty coverage, it has to be done by a dealer (or ASE mechanic, here in the US). Frankly, if I could do it over again, I'd save my money and just do it myself. This tune is very safe and will not hurt the car. The hardest part is installing the airbox, which is pretty easy. Flashing the tune only takes a few minutes.

  • @bongodave13
    @bongodave13 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I have the MP215 and shift kit. I'm waiting until spring to install them. What gauges does it come with?

    • @AdamRainey
      @AdamRainey  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will love the upgrades! The gauges are way stripped out compared to the vanilla Cobb Accessport. Mostly temperatures and MAF pressure and then revs as far as I recall. Not enough for me to keep the mTune perched on my dash

    • @bongodave13
      @bongodave13 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Finally got it done. What a difference! The car is noticeably faster. The turbo spools earlier and harder. More power, but even more torque. It's great for daily driving. I didn't really need the extra the tune gives, but it's nice. The shift kit is spot-on, too. The car feels like it should have from the factory. I did what you did with the AP. It's in the car, in case it ever throws a code. Not gonna happen for a long time, I expect. I'll keep this car as long as I can. It's that fun.

      Weird I see that now but the dealers don't appear to sell their Access Port for use on Fords. I guess Cobb has an exclusive agreement with Mountune over there. Cool video man, I've got a bit of an odd question for you, I picked up a very low mileage 2014 ST2 back in September and it's a rapid car, when I went through the paper work for it's MOT and Service in March and I saw that 6 months before I bought it the previous owner had the MP215 upgrade installed by Ford but when it was on sale it wasn't advertised as Mountune upgraded, also it doesn't have the aluminium air box or mTune handset, after driving a friends ST2 also 2014 model, I realised mine felt like the boost was a lot stronger than hers and when she drove it to compare she said that mine had more of a kick, is there any way I can check if mine still has the upgrade without going to Ford?

    • @AdamRainey
      @AdamRainey  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could contact mountune and give them your VIN number to check that that car definitely had the upgrade because they require that when applying the new map. If indeed it was MP215 then there is no way to map it back to stock, certainly not using an mTune so it is likely that you are still running with the remap. With regards to the airbox, I would suggest taking the airbox cover off and seeing what filter is in there. If it is a thick paper filter then you should at the very least drop in a high flow air filter such as the K&N. They cost about £40
