great video thanks ...its worth mentioning that when you send audio to cubase on the different 16 tracks you re actually bypassing all the Maschine fx on master/group and pad level so my advice is to do the mixing in Maschine since you can also use external fx vsts. Also I record my patterns in Maschine and drop it in cubase (less things to setup)...and finally instruments I use Komplete kontrol instead and for the sounds I use them individually on different instances of Maschine (again no setup required)
@@schragemusik best way to deal with Maschine in my opinion is to separate drums from any instruments and sounds, so when I load a kit with a sound or instrument that I want to use I just copy that instrument and open it on a different instance of Maschine (blank) and paste it on first pad, that way there is no setup required and you can play with your midi keyboard as you would do with any other VST plug in...as for the drums you can set it as Jeff shows in this video
Thank you so much for this. When I got Maschine I was shocked how hard it is to actually make it work easily in Cubase. This is a great way how to set it up. Thanks again! :)
Excellent tutorial. The bit at the end for recording the automation via Maschine for instrument VSTs is exactly what I have been looking for. Really appreciate you taking time to make these videos and explain the stuff that is really hard to find elsewhere.
Hi Nate, thank you for the tutorial, I would like to know how you actual do your further work on for example a hi hat when all drums are in one cubase track from maschine. So for example I have drum groove recorded and I want a compressor or individual reverb on the hi hats on an extra cubase track as an insert effect. Because everything is in one track I would compress the whole drum track than. Thanks for your answer.
This tutorial was extremely helpful - thanks a lot. I just had one problem, and that was to route the virtual midi from Maschine to Cubase 13. It doesn't show up as an option. Is there a work around for that?
If I have a drum kit with FX on the Group loaded into Maschine, how can I route every sound to an individual track in Cubase for mixing without losing the Group FX from the Kit. Am I wrong when that the individual sounds from Maschine will route directly into Cubase, bypassing the Group FX. Just asking, because a lot of Maschine kits have FX, and without them the kits don't sound the same.. but I do want to individually mix every sound from Maschine within Cubase
Have u got a vid showing how to use Sheen plus in controller mode inside Cubase 12, for the complete control instruments and battery, but not using Machine to Software?
Thanks for the video ! Is there a way to sync Maschine standalone to Cubase instead? I assume it has something do with the midi clock but I’m not too knowledgeable in that area
@@MarulaMusic That's heartbreaking. You were such an EPIC guide for us audio noobs in Cubase/Nuendo. I wish you godspeed in your continued endeavors, wherever they may be.

Many thanks from an old fart. I'm about to buy my first Maschine and wodered if recording could be done the way you suggest.

I just bought one! I’m struggling lol

Are You Going To Make That Maschine 2 Cubase- Default kit Preset available To Download Thanks For The Video
Did he ever provide you a preset?

I don't, and probably won't make one either as I've moved to Bitwig.
Thanks for the video !

Thanks for this. Saved for reference.
Maschine needs to become VST3 soon, hopefully!
They're working on it. They've moved a number of their FX plugins and instruments to VST3 already.
What screen resolution are you running on your PC?
This is a while back... I'm on a 50 inch 4k monitor now.
Thanks!!
How do we get a preset?
I haven't been in Cubase for over a year now... sadly don't have one on hand.

Hey guy, nice video but where is the Default kit?
I pretty much run through the entire creation of the kit in the video... Will try upload it later though regardless.
By desolving midi can you convert to audio and save the effects?
Close to how i want to use mine in cubase
