this is one of the best tutorial series I ever seen about Cubase... thank you so much!! please more of this preferences stuff! Steinberg YT has nothing about this, I think.
You can just Shift + Enter the trackname to rename every clip to the trackname. Clips having different names or colors are very useful to leave the option as it is.
Hi Daniel. A realy , realy good Video! Still i struggling with my Situation: I would like to play my Hardware Synth (Roland JX3P) trough Cubase. So that i can record the Midi-File and the Audio from the JX at the same Time. I would like to Monitor the synth purely analog, with no Latency even when i had to set the Buffersize for my Project in Cubase at a high Level (eg.1024 S/B). But struggling with the set of the recordet Wave-File Position in the Grid. If i let play the recordet Midi-File back and record the Audio its the opposit, the Wave-File lands to early. Somehow logical. The Situation you explained but is a internal Instrument. That works fine with the Asio Latency setting on. But what workflow you would recommen in the Situation i explained. My workaround at the Moment is to toggle between recording either the Interface Input and the "external Instrument" Channels. I talked with Cubase Support or even with there contact Person when they come not further. No real Help there. Could you help me? That would be realy Livesaving;) Anyway thx for your Advises! cheers
Bro!!!! That damn locator changing from loop to skip cycle has been bugging me for so long !!!! I really appreciate your help man ! Keep the vids coming 🙏🙏🙏👊
Mate, I set a loop and it's stuck on skip cycle(grey) how do I set it to purple without changing the settings back , it's always annoyed me that it defaults to skip cycle rather than loop ? Thx
@@ajayrajkumar3505 If you don't have a numpad '/' on your keyboard, then you can set a new key command, otherwise you can press the Activate Cycle button within the transport bar 6:18
Thanks a lot for your videos! They help me a lot in my workflow. Maybe for a future video : In midi recording, when you select a track, sometimes the previous track selected is still playing (and recording) because the record button is still set for this track. As templates are sometimes big, it's boring to find the track you don't want to deselect the record. Is there a way in cubase to force it to unselect all unwanted recorded tracks? Thanks again or your videos!
You're right 👍 interestingly that feature is only available on Cubase Pro tier forums.steinberg.net/t/cubase-13-elements-vst-audio-routing-to-audio-track/876760/7
Hello. Please tell me why ASIO latency compensation doesn't work when I render in place? For some reason there is always a small delay on the audio file. Thank you.
Thanks that was very useful. May I ask how you are getting that little circle around your mouse. Is that a CUBASE or WINDOWS setting? It would be really helpful for me.
For event volume envelopes to be adjusted, what is the procedure? I think this is functionality, is referred to as clip gain in other daws. Basically, imagine taming a word in a volume track. 😅 @daniel ayo
The manual has a good example here: steinberg.help/cubase_pro/v13/en/cubase_nuendo/topics/fades_crossfades_and_envelopes/fades_event_envelopes_creating_volume_changes_t.html
It drives me nuts that when you bounce a midi track to audio , cubase wont name the track the name of the part. It is a useless 2 step process. This is shocking to me
Why making a video about something, that everyone who's using Cubase seriously will find out right away without any help? I noticed it and I went straight into the editing settings, because I knew that I could change it there?? Can't believe this stupid video has over 19K views. WTF. It's like making a video about a refrigerator, showing that you can turn off the light inside the fridge. What's next?? Showing how you quantize a midi track by clicking on the Quantize Icon??
I didn't even watch the video, but was drawn here by the overkill "you must do this NOW!" video title and the deliberate blurring of the text on the preview image.
"Parts get track name " OMG - thank you !!!
It's a shame it's not on by default!
Yes, that made me mad in the past. Thank you very much. ❤
It’s awesome for midi events but not for recorded audio. At least for me
That's the most quality of life thing I thought was missing all this time....
Thanks!

Wow! Thanks for the kind words! 😊
Record enable on track select is always the first thing I turn off, it’s maddening
Same here
That short and direct to the point video is invaluable. Thank you. ❤
Yes!! Thank you! New Pro 13 user here. Opening preferences is a grab bag of "wonder what this does". Thank you thank you!!
You're welcome! 👍

If it works for you, go ahead, it ain't for me.
Wow, thanks for fixing the midi latency issue.
Thank you so much for the support G.O! 😁
One of the best Cubase tutorials I’ve seen. Always wondered about this and couldn’t find any information about it. Thank you for posting this😊
Glad it was helpful! 👍
Cool tip! Though I had to get rid of track names from parts since they are blocking the view of wave/transients, so annoying...

Latency tip was very helpful, I've been wondering why I'm playing forward of the beat for ages on my e-drums while audio is ok. Cheers!
Glad it helped!
Great! That first one is absolutely great! Thank you!
Yes it certainly is! 👍
Thank you so much Daniel 👍👍

Thanks for the video🤝🫡
Great and Thank you! These also work for those of us on Nuenndo!
Yes they certainly do!

That latency thing was killing me recently, I wondered why my MIDI notes were before the beat when I’m clearly able to play on the beat. 😂 Thanks!

You can probably make a Project Logical Editor preset to un-arm the record button on all tracks that aren't selected.
Very helpful, thanks.

You no longer have to record via a group. You can send the VST track directly to an audio track

Yeah its for MIDI parts, wont work on Audio events

It is from screen recording software
I use PowerToys - learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/powertoys/mouse-utilities#mouse-highlighter
I accidently activate cycle all the time. Thanks for letting me know how to turn that off.

Why make a paragraph about a video being made if you don’t need it? You’re taking it too seriously it’s not that deep bro.
