  • Dr. Barnes describes how that both parents can influence the child's blood type....the child can have a blood type possessed by either or neither parent. Rh implications discussed, too. Also, please note on-screen clarifications within the video.

I am type O+ and all my children are A+ like their father. Every child had a positive Coombs test and their bilirubin levels were checked a few times to check for Jaudice. My first child is the only one who had mild jaundice. I find genetics fascinating. I found it interesting

I never knew the o- blood type had to go through certain aspects while infusing it to the other types and that the best blood is the same blood type. thanks for the info and explanation!

This is absolutely fascinating! I have a toddler that was born with a mild blood deficiency that I do not completely understand, but I know that it won't be fatal to her. However I cannot find much literature about it, as to know how it would affect her offspring. Coincidentally, my mother, brother and I are all different blood types. I would like more info on what makes one type + or -. I knew that O- was the universal donor, however I didn't know that it could possibly make someone sick or sicker if not administered correctly.
