    Does the Locus of each gene vary from male to female ?

    • @BiologyLectures
      @BiologyLectures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Locus of a gene may vary between males and females. Males and females have partially different genomes. Viewed from a purely reductionist standpoint, many differences between the male and female sexes are predicted to be rooted in differences between the genetic contents of male and female cells and differences in the expression of those genetic contents

    Sir at 3:20 you said that dna cannot fit in nucleus thats why it becomes chromosome. But that is not true sir. The dna is present loosely in the cell. Only and only when there is cell division, it gets condensed and form chromosome.

    • @BiologyLectures
      @BiologyLectures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dear Divya, Thank you for your comment. During prophase, the complex of DNA and proteins contained in the nucleus, known as chromatin, condenses. The chromatin coils and becomes increasingly compact, resulting in the formation of visible chromosomes. Chromosomes are made of a single piece of DNA that is highly organized.
      Chromosomes are made of a single molecule of DNA wrapped around a small, spool-like protein called a histone. The wrapping of DNA around a histone is important, as otherwise most DNA molecules would not fit inside of cells.
