As a paramedic, I carry a Swiss Champ on my belt, and it came in handy on my shift today, in fact, to unscrew a stair handrail to enable us to carry an unconscious patient down the stairs. I wouldn't be without it. I even used it to meand an ambulance once. Vital piece of kit. Mine's also in black. 😊👍
That is awesome, excellent to hear that!
Love the Swiss champ! But i have to admit i use it MORE in my house than anywhere. I never regret choosing this knife for the day - so I chose it most days!
Awesome! Thanks for watching
I have the Swiss Champ (also in black) for about 6 or 7 years now. And it always goes with me on my travels. And it came in handy more times than I can remember. My wife used to make jokes Calling me MacGyver. Until I used it to remove a splinter from her finger and opened a can in our hotelroom. Now she has 3 of them herself.
Awesome
I have one in red. Had it about 16 years. good knife.
Awesome brother
Its always in my shaving kit when i travel , extremely useful EDC . Literally a small tool kit that will get you thru.
Totally agree!
Have this in red which is more visible in an outdoor wilderness camping situation have it for 15 years its awesome
Awesome 😎
I went for the classic ol' red... My model also had a wood saw near the nail file... Helped me when the seatbelt got stuck when a bike crashed into the side of my car. A totally awesome package and well worth the spend. This incident made me realise that all my family members should carry one sak as a helping hand during any emergency. Got my mom a Huntsman Lite as she loved the translucent red color!
Fantastic to hear you're okay and that a Vic was a massive help 🙏🏻
Swiss champ is the ultimate all rounder for me - best multi tool for the price - in a pouch on belt - job done - ultra useful - thanks slippy 👍
Thanks for sharing!
I've carried one for years. Lost my original one back in the 1980s swimming.
Carry one on my belt in a pouch now.
Such a handy bit of kit.
It's a definite legend from Victorinox
Amazing tool!!, and for those who don’t know, right under the corkscrew there is a PIN
Awesome thanks for watching
Great tour Matt...ty for taking us through this one!! 👍👊🙏
Glad you enjoyed it
A great all in one. I prefer this to a multi-tool and when you consider all it can do the price really isn't out of line. Thanks for the close look, Slippy.
Thanks John! It's my choice over any other multi tool as well, unbelievable for the price 🔥🔥
I too have a Swisschamp in black, and it's in my pocket today. I find it sits nice & snugly in the watch pocket of my jeans so I don't notice it. I tend to carry it on days off work when not doing anything in particular. If I'm working or on some other activity I tend to have a more ''mission specific'' EDC with things like Knipex Cobra, a bit driver and bits, but always with a SAK for the scissors, even if it's a small one and I'm carrying a folder for my main blade.
Awesome ideas thanks Simon
Good choice I went with the black too…… you know ow you can EDC that piece all you need is the Swiss clip you don’t even know it’s in your pocket thanks so much for showing it Happy New Year!!!!! 🎆🎈🎊 😊
Happy new year Pete 🔥🤘🏻
Great video!!!
I’ve got a Vic Champion, red cellidor. Was my third Victorinox and picked it up in the late 80’s.
Got the black leather pouch with it too.
Fantastic tool set and great for edc or trips away.
Thanks brother 😎🙏🏻
Thanks Sean 🔥🤘🏻
Great piece! Thanks for the look at it, buddy!
Any time!
Finally, I've been wondering when someone was going to show one of these, 🎉🎉
Hope you like it!
Excellent no nonsense review with no unnecessary verbals.
Thank you brother 🤘🏼
I have the Swiss champion from the 1980s. I love it. A little thinner without the pliers and a longer screwdriver.
Now that's cool
I think the reason that the packaging and paperwork for the champ is because it was always a model that was always a bit more premium than the other models when i was growing up it was the biggest one that you could get
Could be!
Have 3 Swiss Champs, one (red) has been with me 30 years and is in good condition and has required only minor maintenance through its life. Have silver Champ that oddly does not have the pen. Bought a black one in the last few years that will replace the red one in time. I have used every tool over the years and find it invaluable.
Awesome thanks for watching
@@SlipjointSawyer you’re welcome. Enjoyable video 👍
Man that is a big ole boy!! I'd definitely have to wear that in a belt sheath sideways!! A lot of functions here as well, thanks for sharing slippy!!
You bet, have a good new year
I have always wanted one of those just seems like something else trumps it. Thank you brother for showing it
You should definitely get one
Nice overview, thank you for the video. The Swiss Champ is the king of 91mm Victorinox knives. It has a permanent place in my EDC pouch, which then goes into either a sling bag or my backpack. It's nice to have such a compact toolchest with you. You sadly skipped over the wood saw when going through the layers.
Thanks for the info!
Holy mother of tools!!
Nice one Slippy!
👊🏻
Oh yeah!
A fantastic knife. I have a Chinese knock off but it has a saw instead of the parcel hook (and on the other side) and no toothpick/tweeze slots. Great knife and great video Matt !
Thanks Randy 🤘🏻
Just got my first SAK. The camper and I really love it. Have a serrated spartan on the way
First of many I expect - I recommend climber next and a classic sd
Good choice!
Great demo , but noticed you missed the small needle that is tucked away behind the cork screw. Easy to miss I know I only found it by accident when I was cleaning mine. Cheers.
Awesome thanks for watching
Love it 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Honestly my favourite multi tool of all time I have one in red and I’ve used it for everything day to day I do recommend a leather sheath with this Victorinox do do them
I'll check that out
@@SlipjointSawyer They do either brown or black they also do sheaths for smaller layer 91mm and 65mm too. Pretty nice quality leather too
As a fellow black scaled swischamp owner, i'm very happy to see your review of this superb knife.
One thing you missed though... the saw. It shares the same slot as the fish scaler.
Yeah I realised after I missed it 😂😂
I may get one of these for my coat pocket as is a tinkerer and may come in handy for quick fixes out and about, as has a varied selection of tools not just for a specific use which would suit me better,
Although I also like the look of the cyber tool
Go for it! It's a great knife 🤘🏻
@@SlipjointSawyer Decided on the cyber L as don't need scaler and magnifying glass plus the screw bits are a nice touch
I think I've mentioned that I have one of these ( probably more than once lol ). It lives on my belt in a Victorinox leather pouch, and it's a great multi-tool to carry in the UK as there's nothing that the Plod can really grizzle about on the thing.
Absolutely, one I'll definitely be getting some use out of it on camping trips
Don't know about big city's 🤔
@@Ernie-on2vf As usual, it will depend on your age and what you look like I suppose. But the thing is UK legal carry so...
Is this your only Swiss army knife ? Or do you edc more ?
I changed the black scales because it's harder to find when you drop it in dark places or at night. I swapped them for the blue translucent scales.
Amazing!
It’s a monster!
A real beast
I've had mine for 20yrs
How's it held up?
Hi
Great Video
What do you use to sharpen the Knives?
Thank you
I either use a freehand whetstone or the worksharp system 🤘🏻
Yes, best Victorinox for camping trips…
It sure is!
Great review Slippy, was tempted with one of these to go in my work backpack.
I hope you had a lovely Christmas!
Thanks, you too!
Thank you for the review! Very informative. Is there a wood saw by chance in that model? Thank you again.
Yes, the Swiss Champ has a wood saw, he just forgot to show it. Most Victorinox knives build on top of each other. The Huntsman and all of its extensions (Ranger, Handyman, Swiss Champ) all have the wood saw.
Yeah 100% I'm just a jackass
I’ve got Swiss Champ model (red) as well. Don’t know if it was missing in the model shown, but my knife has a pin stowed in the scale underneath the corkscrew…
I always forget something 😂🙏🏻
Thanks for the in depth look at the Swiss Champ. I've always wanted this model just not sure how much I'll carry it so have been hesitant to pull the trigger.
Same with me, it's currently in my camp, explorer EDC pack 🤘🏻
Did I miss it, or does yours not have the wood saw? It's such a great tool!
I missed it 😅
This SAK monster seems to have eaten three smaller Victorinox 😉
All the tools but isn't it clumsy to operate? Great review as usual ✌️
It's definitely a big one 😄
Not clumsy at all, & I have small hands for my size.
Good stuff 👌
That is one chunky monkey ! 🐵 I think at some stage I need to get one to experience the engineering of the beast .......if you know what I mean . Hope you had a good Christmas Matt , A T B , Tony . 🐴🏴
It's definitely a beast 🤘🏻
Looks nice to have! But a little too heavy to carry! Probably just put it in a pack!
Thanks Mike, 100% a pack carry
Did you skip the wood saw and pin?
100% missed it 😂
I have one in the mail currently
Excellent
New subscriber here subbed a few days ago just wanted to warn people my partner bought me the huntsman from Amazon and it’s a fake doesn’t have the Zak logo different colour red and fit and finish is terrible
That's awful, was it advertised as a victorinox?
@@SlipjointSawyer yes it was listed as the Victorinox Huntsman Amazon have given us a full refund and there going to look into how this has happened
Just to mention it was a 3rd party seller not Amazon themselves
Isn't it 8 layers?
Yessir
I plan on taking a bath in 2024🛀🤠
😂😂
you forgot the saw
Always forget something 😂
