It’s so nice to not have to hear the rain on the tarp … it’s ok if it’s for a few minutes of a video but when it’s the whole time, it’s actually not pleasant. Thank you for the relief. 🙏🏻💖
You are welcome. If I could get mother nature to do what I wanted I would plan the ultimate camping weather, clear and crisp for the walk in, then a beautiful sunset, then evening rain, raining all night, then waking to a clear sunny day again. That way it would just be a bit on rain and not too much.

On this trip I took in 1 litre in my drink bottle, and then a 2litre water bladder that I filled at the last stream. I also drunk from the rivers. It was more than enough for Indi and I and a bit for a small hot water bottle and to put out the fire. Usually I don't carry more than 1 litre as there are plenty of rivers in NZ. If I know there won't be water at my camp though, I fill up the 2litre as well. Just makes things very heavy for that portion of the journey.

Great job. And, yes, self sufficiency can be cumbersome. Love your channel. Thx again.
Thank you for your thoughtful comment. I like that idea 'self sufficiency can be cumbersome', it sums it up well. I am so glad the videos are helpful. I find food to be such an important part of a trip. When you have had a hard day food is everything! Just getting to sit down to a nice meal is so rewarding. G'day, AAA+ for effort on this one Cathy. Carrying a backpack full of rocks and firewood up a mountain. You are very thoughtful of other campers.
