    Marxism-leninism never rejected global revolution, Lenin was passionate about the idea:
    *"We see the same picture as we do now in Germany. And there the same dull discontent of the popular masses is growing, which will inevitably result in the forms of a popular movement. We cannot decree the revolution, but we can also contribute to it. We will lead an organized fraternization in the trenches, help the peoples of the West to start an invincible socialist revolution... I firmly believe that in the end the social revolution will win in all civilized countries."*
    Stalin never thought of himself as a pretty big deal, in fact it's the opposite, which is, again, evident in his works:
    *"I must tell you, comrades, in all conscience, that I did not deserve a good half of the praise that was bestowed on me here... It is unpleasant when exaggerated to hyperbolic dimensions. People get ecstatic over nothing. Out of hundreds of greetings, I only respond to 1-2, I don't allow most of them to be printed, I don't allow too enthusiastic greetings to be printed at all once I find out about them. Nine-tenths of these greetings are really quite tasteless. And they give me unpleasant experiences."*
    "Cult of personality" is propaganda that has been enforced during Khrushchev's era.
    Issue with Trotsky is that he tried to propagate for global revolution which wasn't possible at the time for destroyed Union. They didn't even have resources to feed their own people after poor Russian Empire.

      On that note and to contend with a few of your points, Marxism-Leninism, which is ridiculed by detractors as Stalinism (to reference it being the official state ideology of the U.S.S.R. under Stalin's leadership, insofar as he as an individual led it, which was theoretically laid out by him), is neither Marxist nor Leninist tbh in that it implicitly rejects/fails to uphold principles/perspectives of either, including internationalism in being a nation-state ideology. To further clarify, Leninism, distinct from Marxism-Leninism, could simply be considered a minor, arguably logical development of Marxism/Marxist praxis by Lenin extending to specific conditions beyond Marx's lifetime.
      Also, cults of personality can form regardless of one's intentions. Stalin even admits that he apparently had a sort of cult of personality form around him in the second excerpt *you* quoted. It matters not his personal affinity on the matter. The hypocritical error of many lies in their attribution of a 'notorious', 'exceptional' cult of personality around Stalin (who usually _represents_ something they dislike) but simultaneous ignorance (sometimes willful) of the 'cults of personality' they are involved with or support in capitalist society, particularly around certain commodities, beliefs, and political/celebrity figures. Most U.S. presidents have had similar cults of personality to Stalin's, at least in proportion to their years in power, for instance.

    Anarcho-monarchism is actually a system where after the death of each monarch the state no longer exists until a civil war is fought with the winner becoming the new monarch. Think of Mad Max. The name is probably inspired by the English historical period known as “The Anarchy” in the 1100’s when there was no recognized king for more than 20 years as multiple factions fought for the throne.

    The video is pretty nice, but I'd like to clear something up about anarchism. Anarchists don't really believe in abolishing government, but rather the state.
    Those are two diffrent things.
    A government can be any institution or group that "governs", as in that controls and manages the wealth, information and labor of a society. You could say a board of directors are the "government" of a company, or that silicon valley are the "government" of the internet. Some anarchists even consider something like a family a small government.
    Classical anarchists do want to abolish the state in it's current form, but not the concept of government. Govermment and collective decisionmaking will exist in any society. They just want a society in which any government that takes shape features a minimum of authoritarianism, horizontal democratic decisionmaking and without any institutions that hold big monopolies of violence or force, like a police or a military.

    • @IsaacPrinTheNerd
      @IsaacPrinTheNerd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I was about to say. Anarchism is just the abolition of the state and its use of force to coerce a public to obey arbitrary rules and laws for the benefit of the government. Government itself isn't bad since it helps organize people into action, but anarchism doesn't try to coerce you into doing anything.
      One of the best examples for how anarchism can work is what I've heard described as the "shopping cart" test. Once you finish shopping at Walmart or whatever, and you take your shopping cart to your car and empty it. Now, what do you do with the shopping cart? It is 100% legal to just leave it in the parking lot, without putting it in its designated lane. No one is gonna force you to put it anywhere else. Every person that puts the shopping cart in its right place does so unprompted and can thus self-govern greatly. That's what anarchism is: a collection of people who voluntarily make others' lives more convenient by keeping things organized. Anyone who doesn't put the cart back isn't ready to commit to an anarchist society, simply because they can't even be bothered to put it back for the sake of anyone else.
      Also, the reason why anarchism has so many ideologies is because we don't have many famous or infamous anarchists. Authoritarians literally have so many names because their policies were carried out successfully. I would happily rename some of the ideologies Bakuninism, Goldmanism, Kropotkinism, Bookchinism, or Turnerism, but that's just me.

    Marxism-Leninism doesn't reject worldwide revolution, it just wants to build socialism in one country first and then export the revolution. Every other revolution is likely to fail, due to instability and so on. We want to build a world socialist republic, due to the fact that communism is just achievable worldwide. A lot of MLs generally rely on the ideas of Marx, Engels and Lenin.

    a few things:
    1) there's no such thing as "stalinism." its not a real ideology. it's just a slang term for marxism-leninism that anticommunists use in order to smear MLism and associate it with anticommunist propaganda about stalin.
    2) marxism-leninism isn't really what you described. MLs believe in a temporary state with a vanguard party, to protect the state against imperialists during the transition to communism. after the state outlives its usefulness, it will be dissolved to move onto late-stage communism (i.e, "full communism") the one thing you got kinda right is that MLism is marxism applied to the material conditions of russia, but there's also separate paths of MLism like Ho Chi Minh Thought, which developed in vietnam and is marxism applied to vietnam's material conditions.
    3) the idea of stalin cultivating a cult of personality comes from baseless anticommunist propaganda. Stalin didn't have a cult of personality and never wanted one. he *specifically* warned against "great man theory" and cults of personality in a ton of his speeches and essays, reminding the people that the power lies in the proletariat's hands, not in his, and that he works for them.
    he also tried to resign on 5 different occasions, but wasn't allowed to. not really the behavior of a power-hungry dictator.
    read some of stalin's writing yourself, or look into writings by people who actually lived under stalin, and it becomes glaringly obvious that most of what us westerners know about him is anticommunist propaganda and red scare-era bullshit.

    • @masonjolley-yule3308
      @masonjolley-yule3308 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As a leftist I still personally distance myself from Stalin. When people hear communism they automatically think of totalitarianism because of him, when in reality late stage Marxism is almost as against the state as it is capitalism. I always make this distinction when arguing with anti-communists and when educating people that don’t know any better, otherwise they think I’m in favour of complete authoritarianism.
      It really is a shame, it’s by far the most misunderstood theory ever. Also the fact that ‘anarcho communism’ is even a thing shows that not even leftists understand that communism in its true form is basically anarchy.

    I would like to make a note on the political compass chart shown in the beginning, showing anarchism in the bottom right corner. Along with attributing the most bottom-left part of the compass as "anarcho communism." This suggests that anarchism is a right idea, that the left co-opted into their own ideology. When it is exactly the opposite. Anarchism is in fact a leftist ideology, that libertarians stole to use to describe anarcho-capitalism. The same thing happened to the word libertarian itself.
    edit: And going along with that, anarcho-capitalism isn't even anarchism. The very creator of anarcho-capitalism said as much. So not only did they steal the term, they're using it to describe something not even slightly related to anarchism itself.

    If I had to list my ideologies, I would say I am a combination of transhumanism, posthumanism, monarchism, progressivism and democratic socialism. figure that one out. basically i want humans to do everything they can to eliminate suffering and injustice over time, but with democratic participation in this process, and a constitutional symbolic monarch as head of state.

    He skipped over my ideology. I'm an anarcho egoist. Basically I believe that oneself is the only thing that holds any objective value so it should take priority over everything else. Many modern ideas are just constructs that limit the ego, for example morality. I don't know why he skipped over this when he went over more obscure stuff but whatever. Also the way he described anarcho primitive was simplified to the point where the definition is barely even correct. There are many reasons as to why one may identify as an anarcho primitivist, one of the main ones being what ted kaczynski refers to as "surrogate" activities. Surrogate activities are activities that mentally drain ones ego by not contributing to their life in any meaningful way. Anprims rid themselves of such activities by basing their lifestyles in a way where everything they do is meaningful to their survival. The ideology he described sounds closer to primal primivitism/primalism. Some key ideologies are also missing on this iceberg entirely. Kakistocracy isn't here, neither is soulism or avaritionism. Shit iceberg and shit video all around
