For anyone having genuine anxiety about the dack hunt picture, I want you to think of something. I want you to picture some dude in his mom's basement, sitting at his desk, ramen noodle cups everywhere, anime posters plastered over his walls, and using MS Paint to draw the poorly made image of the dog. Picture him using his mouse to draw and thinking "Haha this is gonna scare people". When you picture how that whole story and imagery was made, it doesn't seem that bad anymore. It really is just some dude in his basement making spooky drawings.
That's kinda the same thing when it comes to horror movies or other things like that. It's only scary when you don't consider the fact that someone had to be behind it. Also, if you want another way to make the dack hunt image seem less frightening, just know that if you took the time to learn basic image editing skills, you could probably recreate the image with minimal effort. Thinking about it like that kinda helps, at least for me.

I have a friend who worked at Buzz Monkey Software many years ago. He worked on the South Park game mentioned in this video, and gave me a bunch of info about the game’s development. Ubisoft, in their infinite wisdom, didn’t do any research about the South Park IP at all prior to this project, and suspected the show’s humor would be more like The Simpsons, and not… well, South Park! As a result, they instituted bizarre guidelines like “The children cannot be in danger”, “The children can’t swear”, and more. As a result, Trey Parker and Matt Stone despised the game when it was shown to them. He also backed up the statements about unprofessional producers, noting that they would openly snort lines of cocaine while in the office.
What's even funnier, The Simpsons have Children swearing a couple of times and at the time the Episode Boys of Bummer came out, which is an episode about the town bullying Bart into he tried to kill himself
Ironically enough, Ubisoft would eventually become the publishers of Stick of Truth and Fractured But Whole, and allow the game to be just as offensive as the show, possibly moreso due to it involving, among other things, kids murdering adults with farts.

Almost a decade later and I'm still pissed about Prey 2. At the very least they could adapt the story into a comic or something, they cant just leave us on this cliffhanger forever!
Okay, I just want to provide some clarification on KillSwitch at 52:04 because it seems that some important context was left out of the video. KillSwitch is NOT a real game but a creepypasta, and the story is what’s said in the video. Also, the video shown doesn’t look like a game from 1989, especially if it’s supposed to be a game for computers at that time. The graphics are basically the 2010’s vision of old 8-bit graphics, where the bases of 8-bit graphics (like what type of system or console it’s based on) are based on impressions, and are just made to look simple. Basically, 2010’s 8-bit art has no bases, just what they think 8-bit looks like.
Thrill Kill is an extremely interesting one. It was never finished, but a nearly finished build is playable on PS1 emulators. It was the first fighting game to allow 4 players to fight at once, and introduced mechanics that were later used by other games in the genre. However, it was at the time (the late 90s) billed as being more violent than Mortal Kombat, and many of the characters were BDSM themed, so when EA bought out the producer they ended up cancelling it.
I'm surprised Kirby GCN wasn't on the list. It was a scrapped Kirby game for the GameCube that would eventually be revealed that it was Kirby's Return to Dreamland in early stages of development, before HAL decided to switch to the Wii, because of better graphics, performance, etc. Great video tho!
All those Hentai RPGS/dating sims on newgrounds from back in the day should be added now. I remember all those from high school days but due to flash they are all lost to time. Very nostalgic for me,
Admittedly, that Banjo X title sounds a bit like what the Xbox ended up getting with Conker the Squirrel, where the characters do know they're in a remake and adjust elements accordingly, like with the tutorial's gargoyle threat telling Conker that the devs knew he would do that and that he wasn't just gonna go down this time via a frying pan..... until Conker pulls out a spiked baseball bat.
It makes me so happy that everyone here has such passion about video games. I want to make them when I'm older, so I'm happy there is such a dedicated fan base.

Interestingly enough there was a fourth cancelled Black Isle Fallout game, called Fallout Extreme. In a twist on the isometric formula, this game sounded like it was going to be a tactical FPS game in a similar vain to Valkyrie Chronicles along with grand strategy elements similar to Total War. The story sounded amazing, with it beginning in the Cascadia region with you controlling a rebel faction known as the Cause who fought to free the region from Brotherhood of Steel control. After completing this task, you then learn why the Brotherhood is out here, and after that must go to the Forbidden City in Beijing to stop the remnants of Imperial China from firing a nuclear payload at the American wasteland. It sounds freaking awesome, I mean a Fallout game where you get to see China and fight Cossacks? Sign me up. Sadly it seems it never left the planning phase, but hopefully someone might pick it up and recreate it someday
games that got canceled which I remember were the following, Dark Watch 2, Megaman Legends 3, stargate MMO, several Oddworld titles, Eternal Darkness 2 and let's not forget P.T. which was supposed to be silent hills.
Really great video!! Subscribing right now. I've been going down a ton of these game icebergs lately I can't believe I haven't seen that evil farming game on any of them so far?? “It may have gotten in trouble for stereo typical depictions of non-binary people.” Pffff… in that day and age? I think it’s more likely it wasn’t translated because it HAD non-binary people. Pokemon events were also at Books-A-Million back in the day, too. More so than other stores in some areas. My mom always used the standard weekly TCG meetups to babysit me on Saturdays while I stocked up on Pokemon I needed or traded, lol. I even became a gym leader when I turned 14 in 2004 and went on to be in the national tournament for that year. Good times. Haymakers were amazing (and so was Tauros in game tournaments.) I think back on their final year/day and they were handing out promos like they were worthless. At the time, they were, but now these same cards are super sought after. I also wonder what happened to game cartridges after gaming events. I know there were a lot of Stadium 1/2 games that were just given away.. there had to haven been event ones, too, specifically for the times. I remember there was one for Stadium that you would trade for in Stadium. Probably thrown away after.
Bandit was an arcade Spy Hunter clone developed by Data East but never released beyond a location test, and is so far unemulatable in MAME, though a collector uploaded footage from his arcade cabinet to YT, and as Rerez pointed out, it appeared during the arcade scene in RoboCop 2, poorly disguised as a The Real Ghostbusters cabinet (all of the movie's arcade games were by Data East, who held the RoboCop license at the time).
Speaking of lost Cartoon Network Flash games: while not a Flash game, Codename: Kids Next Door - Operation B.E.S.T. was a game that was only available for a few months in 2005, with the person with the highest score being revealed during the finale of KND. It was lost for years until an employee known as Les Bird released a playable build of the game as part of his portfolio on his website. I was thrilled to find this out, and I've been playing the game on my spare time.
the world of warcraft area was originally intended to be part of the karazhan raid instance, but was scrapped because it would have made the instance to long. they made the area accessible in legion with a few quests and a secret going through there.
The xbox one port of GMod comes from a misconception that the inclusion of Kinect Compatibility in the PC version of gmod indicated that an xbox port was in development. Garry Newman would confirm on his blog eventually that there were no plans for a console version of the game.
Half life 3 was being worked on. But with fan’s expectations being way to freaking high! They stalled it to work on other projects until they could end it properly. That’s literally what happen and everyone wants to argue about it. It’s still being worked on but with a small team.
Gotham by Gaslight, Star Wars 1313, and Deep Down are easily the top 3 lost games for me. GbG perfectly nails the gothic atmosphere and detective elements that are at Batmans core, plus I always love creative era/setting changes. 1313 is what Star Wars needs. I get that the franchise is meant for everyone, young and old, but a gritty, mature story would fit so well in the seedy underbelly of Coruscant. Deep Down might be my most sorely missed, mainly because we only really know what was shown in that one demo. It looked so good for the era, and the gameplay looked incredibly weighty. That kind of medieval game is what ive always wanted, and the only thing that really looks like it might come close is Project Awakening. But, seeing as how we've also gotten next to no info on that game in a few years, who knows where it'll end up
I remember there was a wii game called Sadness or something like that, almost entirely black and white, looked super interesting and horror. I feel like I'm the only one clinging to a revival of that.
I'm always surprised at how low on lists like this and video game creepypastas that Killswitch is placed. It felt like one of those super well known stories, yet now it's considered a deep cut.
Thank you for watching! This video took a while to make and I would greatly appreciate it if you could like and subscribe, thank you again!

Yeah, some of them (especially in the last layer) aren't actual games but I still thought they were still interesting to talk about.
@@accessiblefunky :/
@@accessiblefunky I recommend you don’t include things that aren’t actually on topic with the video. SCP’s should be in a SCP iceberg and so on.
he didnt make the list though, i dont blame him for including everything even if it didnt relate. More to watch yknow?
@7shot solo this happened to my buddy Eric
Holy shit that Bradberry “SLAAAAAAAMING” clip woke me up and I thought I got sent back in time-
Thrill Kill is an extremely interesting one.
I remember I when Nintendo took away the DSI ware games I couldn't re-download Magical Whip.
Where there's a whip, there's a way
The internet archive has a whole bunch of DSiWare games.

Love the way you make icebergs! Hearing your voice/commentary is so pleasent. I also like your editing. Good job.

All those Hentai RPGS/dating sims on newgrounds from back in the day should be added now. I remember all those from high school days but due to flash they are all lost to time. Very nostalgic for me,
Well it's a good thing Metroid Dread wasn't on this list.

Fun fact: there are booklets made for the HL1 Dreamcast port that somehow got out and are now a sort of a collector thing I guess
Speaking of the Zeebo, there an amazing unique Double Dragon on it. Its really not available anywhere except on Zeebo consoles with it downloaded already. I havent really heard anything about emulating the console, so its in limbo. Theres some videos of gameplay here on YT, check em out.
Sorry if you did mention it and I missed it.
I was just listening to this in the background while doing my math homework, and when I heard "AddictingGames" I got *MASSIVE* whiplash.
The name “Megaman Legends 3” makes me sob
It’s a surreal feeling to be sitting in your car at 10 PM just vibing only to hear a story you’re involved with out of nowhere @ 39:32 lol.

The fact that the duck hunt SCP is a main series article and not a joke one basically sums up why I left the site.

If Itoi considers Mother 3 to be light-hearted, I'd really hate to see what the game was originally like on the N64.
I get the feeling that the post "The End?" sequence didn't exist in the 64 version, since without it, the ending would just mean the world was destroyed.
Betray me....
Hey another iceberg channel, just what I needed! (no irony here, thanks for the video dude)
The change in tone at 49:40 was insane.
now I'm addicted to these iceberg videos...
I'm only a few minutes in, and I'm already loving how in depth this is with each game already, even just on the surface.
Some sick part of me wants to play the Eric Harris Doom WADs
They're below average, not worth your time.
I hate to say it, but same here.
So glad you didn't spend 10 minutes explaining what an iceberg is like everyone else does
Gotham by Gaslight looked like a Souls-clone.
The Smash Bros. prototype was actually called Ryuou: The Fighting Game, after the image in the stage background being a photo of Ryuou, a city in Japan. While the city’s name does translate to “dragon king”, it’s not what was intended.
It was interesting up to the point where it stopped being about actual lost media and devolved into creepypasta territory.
They gotta make Duck Hunt Remastered: Remastered, where the game subconsciously tells you to kill geese instead. It’s for the betterment of mankind.
> tfw Half-Life's iceberg is only the tip of the entire video games' iceberg

Lets have a moment of silence for the fallen 3DS Eshop :(
games that got canceled which I remember were the following, Dark Watch 2, Megaman Legends 3, stargate MMO, several Oddworld titles, Eternal Darkness 2 and let's not forget P.T. which was supposed to be silent hills.

Really great video!! Subscribing right now. I've been going down a ton of these game icebergs lately I can't believe I haven't seen that evil farming game on any of them so far?? Great video! I would also recommend placing Twisted metal black harbor city in the video. It is an interesting cancelled game imo.
Good times. Haymakers were amazing (and so was Tauros in game tournaments.)
I think back on their final year/day and they were handing out promos like they were worthless.
Yuji Naka didn't create Sonic, he just programed for it.

the world of warcraft area was originally intended to be part of the karazhan raid instance, but was scrapped because it would have made the instance to long. they made the area accessible in legion with a few quests and a secret going through there.

The xbox one port of GMod comes from a misconception that the inclusion of Kinect Compatibility in the PC version of gmod indicated that an xbox port was in development. Garry Newman would confirm on his blog eventually that there were no plans for a console version of the game.
I was surprised to see that the developers for the Mean Girls game was 505 Games. They published ABZU, one of my favorite games as of late!
Half life 3 was being worked on. But with fan’s expectations being way to freaking high! They stalled it to work on other projects until they could end it properly. That’s literally what happen and everyone wants to argue about it. It’s still being worked on but with a small team.

This is some really good editing! Good job!
But, seeing as how we've also gotten next to no info on that game in a few years, who knows where it'll end up
Hey, amazing work bud. You did great :)

Thank you for making this funky accessible, I sure do hate inaccessible funky.
I remember there was a wii game called Sadness or something like that, almost entirely black and white, looked super interesting and horror. I feel like I'm the only one clinging to a revival of that.
There actually were THREE pokemon games for the N64 you know? Pokemon stadium 1, stadium 2 (the one the rest of the world knows as 1) and snap.
I'm always surprised at how low on lists like this and video game creepypastas that Killswitch is placed. It felt like one of those super well known stories, yet now it's considered a deep cut.
