Also just want to add. I don’t care if you are a windows or Mac person or whatever it’s just great to see someone genuinely excited about something. Keep doing what you’re doing
I just got the M3 Pro MacBook and the power draw is the one thing I can’t wrap my head around. I was using Whiskey to play some windows games like Cyberpunk and my laptop was charging over thunderbolt at about 70 watts and was charging it too. Emulating windows while gaming at 70 watts is insane
Man, I would love to see that Minecraft FPS with Sodium / Lithium instead of Optifine. Optifine is old and outdated, I guarantee you could get such a smooth experience on Fabric.
he had vsync on thats why it was 44fps, i mean he would get better performance with sodium but not like 44->~200 jump it would jump up by like maybe 40
I think someone else mentioned using Whiskey, but if you want to run a larger amount of Steam games, it basically lets you run Windows games with near-native performance on your M series Mac. I've gotten Rocket League to run at 1080p 100 fps on my 8 Core GPU M1 Mac Mini. Of course, I have other devices that handle gaming better, but it is impressive nonetheless. I've also installed Asahi Linux, which is really good for running Open Source projects that may not be optimized for the Mac. Amazing video!
Not sure about GTX 980 but definitely not better than today's gaming pcs. It's impressive but next time try to run it at 50% resolution just to get the best pixel scaling and more fps.
what are you excited about? for the price of a mac m1, you can build a gaming pc that will outperform this like 4 to 1. the ONLY thing that's impressive about the apple silicon is how little power it draws.
Very true, but ironically this replaced my gaming pc 😂 don't forget to include the 4.5k screen & speakers, and you better run that gaming pc at 4.5k for it to be fair 😅. Hopefully with optimisation they can improve things because an M1 outperforms my old 9700k which is crazzzzy 😂 Imagine what they can do with the graphics when optimised. Edit: also while this test is gaming related, I don't really game heavily any more (nothing more intense than MC) as I'm more focused on Uni and Video Editing which are much better for me on Mac, so there's little reason to have a gaming pc around 😉
i dont know we are in 2024 or 1989 looking at those games :/ sorry i will call this arcade games not games this is like far cry 1 -> AMD Athlon™ 1 GHz or Pentium® III 1 GHz. Memory: 256 MB. Graphics: 64 MB DirectX
I do play Minecraft some time to time in my windows machine but I mostly do my TH-cam video editing and photoshop, and pretty much everything on my pc, I also do gaming but I prefer macOS for pretty much everything I do besides games that are not compatible with Mac’s. I’m definitely going to buy a used Mac Mini M1 8 cores with 16GB ram and 512gb SSD.
Have you tried Roblox on it? A lot of people underestimate Roblox & on what a demanding game it actually is, especially this game called “Greenville”. I tired it at an Apple Store on an M1 Pro 16 inch MacBook Pro & the fans came on after about 5 minutes of playing lol 😂
It's not that impressive, it's essentially just a glorified laptop with a good display (not sure why it's not 5K) and amazing speaker engineering. You can't fault Apple for their speakers.
I think it's because they want the same pixel density as the other macs, so their scaling only allows it to be 4.5k 21.5" = 4k 24" = 4.5k 27" = 5k (It's actually kinda a glorified iPad 😭)
Fair enough, I definitely see your point 🙂 The M1 does have a couple of things holding it back though: - GMOD (and most games) run through Rosetta so the M1 has to process an Intel environment which takes some performance away. - Since Catalina, 32-bit applications are no longer supported. On Sonoma, you have to use a 64-bit beta of GMOD which was already buggy on Intel hardware, and worse on Apple Silicon. (Also remember the M1 is running it at native 4.5k resolution)

6:36 I recommend sodium instead of optifine because sodium has much better performance gain than optifine
Yeah optifinehasnt really been good for a couple years now

not quite another youtuber like you the music, you're accent and the environment sets it apart.

A small corection: the iMac's resolution has about 7x more pixels than a standard 1920x1080 resolution
Man I love your video's, you deserve way more views and subs!
Thanks! Appreciate it 🙂
Dude u are lucky and only 3k subs? keep it up dude! i've been here since the 400 sub mark when the macbook died while installing vista...
Thanks man! This was paid out of work money though, not TH-cam 😂 I'm not quite there yet
"it's like ray tracing but it's not ray tracing"
no, it *is* ray tracing. Cycles is a ray tracing engine.
Perfect pc to play fallout new vegas on
watching this on my 16GB RAM M1 MacBook Pro
your computer is ray tracing compatible you can activate in the blender rendering settings activate METAL RT (rt: Ray Tracing)

Should've tried running DOOM
you can install fortnite but it's only chapter 2 season 3 because of the lawsuit of epic games and apple
Not anymore, they officially killed that version off. But there's rumors of Fortnite returning in the European Market
VSync was enabled in Minecraft so the FPS were limited to the screen's refresh rate
enjoy lad :)
Ya Got the late 2019 16inch macbook pro Same as me and yes i am in your discord server Timmy
wow i've never seen a imac that powerful ever
Should have got M3 iMac, M1 is already 4 years old now.
Good point but they are sooo expensive istg they are 1500 for a good one
True, but I only paid £500 😉

Are you gonna test out the M1 MBP too? I still can’t believe how they fit so much power into such small things
Most likely yeah! But I'll probably test it with different stuff 🙂
bro thinks we're still on the gtx 980, true apple fanboy fashion
I wish, those were the times 😎 I'd take a 980 over the 4000 series any day
Cry baby
Good luck replacing the ram and hard drive
What are the specs? How did you get the m1? It’s no longer available.
Second hand 🙂
Yo I have a game on the steam store set to come out on Mac, it would be great if you could try it
But can it run Windows?
Bedside mac?
Always 😎
@@techmw1988 also can u try running elden ring on M1? The new update allows you to do so
I would if I still had an Apple Silicon machine around! ;)
That thing is too new. At max it should be a 2012 mac

can you try running emulation on it ?
I did try pscx2 which worked well, but nothing else so far 🙂 Maybe I should try a 360 emulator or something!
