    I love these common sense things, I'll share one with you; buy an old salad spinner from a charity shop/ carboot sale, when cleaning your big bob ross brushes, after rinsing it off in thinners, pop it in tha salad spinner, and give it a good going at, and the brush is dry enough to reuse instantly, and the run off can be disposed of without contamination of the clean thinners!

    • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That such a unique idea.
      How do you stop the paint, thinner or spirits from being pushed into the paint brush ferrule though?
      I might have to play around with this.

    • @nelsonunit7000
      @nelsonunit7000 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WildCreates the g-force of the revolution seems to stop it from travelling up into the ferrule and wicks it out of the bristles into the spinner, has been my experience?
      Tip get one with a wide enough diameter to get the brushes laid down flat in the basket..I took my brushes with me to measure before parting with my £1.50!

    Nice hacks, definetly usable. I had a canvas with a small crack so I put a label/sticker on the back side and gave it an extra layer of gesso.
    Can you give me a tip for an easy way to make a frame. I thought about maybe using skirting board or some kind of angle/edge board

    • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice little hack there - I like to use a spare piece of canvas and use Mod podge to seal the cracks or holes.
      I plan on doing a video with my friend on how to build simple and cheap frames - It may have to wait til after the new year though as my garage is over run with holiday decorations at the moment ha ha ha

    Hi Wild thnx 4your usefull tips nd tricks
    I wonder, do you know what to do to avoid the top of the tube of oilpaint getting stuck...?
    I had some trouble opening my tube of paint ... also the same with Bob's magic white and magic clear container... it got stuck almost like glue...
    Love your vids btw many thnx

    • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That just happens when the paint starts to dry when your capped is not sealed correctly.
      When you are done using your paint for the day, make sure you wipe the cap and the tube threading clean. This will allow it to seal tightly and stop the paint from drying on the threads of cap.

    I've seen videos on brush cleaning some say don't clean then unless your not going to paint for a month others say to just use s brush dip and let them sit and others have said was with soap and water after you have dipped them in brush condition. What is your thoughts

    • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Many thoughts here (hopefully I can keep it short ha ha ha)... best answer is do what your think is best for you and your supplies ( so basically experiment and test).
      However if you want my personal opinion (which is just my own thoughts and theories BTW 😜) I have spent a lot of money on my supplies SO I want it to last as long as possible. For my natural bristle brushes - I dip my brushes when done painting then pull all the color out with tools (like racks, palette knifes, and towels), after that I will use a brush soap and conditioner on all my used brushes. Then I shape me brushes and let air dry. I do this every time IF I am painting more than like 3 to 5 days apart. Because 3 to 5 days can turn into weeks because life gets in the way (so best to have your brushes prepped)
      If I was painting the next day. I would only clean with thinner, pull colors out with tools, then air dry. (natural bristles again)
      For all my synthetic brushes, I clean them with brush soap and luke-warm water every time, even if i am painting the next day.
      Hope that helps some.

      @@WildCreates true but you mentioned taking your paints with you on the road and it's always a wise idea to know where you can buy some things while you're away from the net.

    I love the bungee tip, very smart. But I do have an issue with so many tips that involve single use plastics.... I'm wondering if anyone has an alternative to ziploc bags for separating thinner, like some type of reusable wax food bags? I'd be curious to know. Otherwise I love your videos and appreciate your lame humor 🤣👍👍

    • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have never used reusable wax bags before BUT maybe I will give that a try and see. I would say if the plastic bags are an issue, you could always have 2 buckets for your thinners. When you are done painting for the day, let the dirty thinner bucket sit for 24 to 48 hours. Then separate the thinner layers, add the used clean thinner to the new bucket and wipe clean the old used bucket.
      This way you can swap back and forth on the same 2 buckets - saving on plastic. Its a little more work but doable. Using this tool in the video below will make it super fast too.
