Great videos, love the scenic shots! I'm planning to hike the very first 2 islands with my pal and you definitely persuaded me to start with Lanzarote. I need to drink at least 3-4 litres a day but somehow these desert barren places just amaze me. Happy trails! 🙋♂️
Hey Theirry no worries and thanks for the comment! Coldest was porobably 1-2' Celsius on one night when I camped on a bit of elevation on Gran Canaria :)
Amazing video, keep going Jack 👏🏻, can you please share the Alltrails of this hike , i live in Morocco next to Gran Canaria and i want to do this trail soon. Thank you 🙏🏻
Hey thanks for the comment Mouad! Of course, the link is below. Enjoy your trip when you manage to get there 👌 www.alltrails.com/explore/recording/afternoon-hike-107030c--230?u=m
Great videos! Been enjoying all of them so far. Your iPhone gives me anxiety in that chest pocket though! 😂 It's great to see some thru hiking content that's Europe-based, there's a vacuum left by Chase Mountains now that he's diversifying, and this is an excellent successor. Keep up the good work man! 👏 And thank you🙏
I like to think it’s secure in there but who knows 😂 Cheers for the nice comments. Love Chase’s work, especially his GR series. Hope he can keep putting out some thru hiking content where possible 😬 Thanks again Charles!
Great video! Seems like quiet a tough hike, and dry. Apart from at the coast of each island, how often did you pass or tent by a small lake or something, to wash up?
Hi Ralf, unfortunately they were quite rare. There was one reservoir on Gran Canaria but it was quite close to some residential buildings. Other than that I didn’t see any other bodies of water. I had to rely on some wet wipes to clean up as best as I could in the evenings and purchase bottled water. Some towns did have taps of running water but they were infrequent
Hi thanks for the comment! It was about 9kg with all my camera gear, and without water. I checked it in as checked baggage as the airlines won’t let you take a stove as carry on…hope that helps! Jack
Hi, I'm thinking about doing the Tenerife part of the gr 131 trail, could you share your spots for the tent? :) and maybe the places where you had an opportunity to refill water?
Of course! So the first night I camped in the camping zone La Caldera. The second night was just before the road near El Portillo, down in the forest away from the trail. There's also a water tap about an hour before here :) Then my final camp was just after the Teidi National Park but before Vilaflor, again off the trail in the pine forest. The final night I stayed in a bnb at the end of the trail in Arona
Beautiful video, but GR131 only shows a little of each island and at least on Tenerife and La Gomera it misses the best spots. I spent 10 days on La Gomera last year, walked 300km and there are still areas I haven't been to. And the other islands, except Hierro, are bigger...
Hola Jack. Next time You come around and the bars are closed, please approach any house, ring the bell and ask for some water, people will be more than happy to help you. No need to go thirsty and struggle here or wherever for that reason. By the way, yes your Spanish spelling is terrible 😁 Enjoyed a lot the series 👌...you would have loved La Palma for sure.

Amazing views! waiting for the guide for the hike, take care always :) Love the color combination of your atom pack :)
Thanks for the nice comment! Hopefully can get the hike summary up soon :) and I do love the atom pack too, such a functional pack as well!
Thank you so much for those great videos. I'm planing to hike the GR131 soon. Can you remember what was the coldest temperature at night? Thank you!

Just wonderful! Thanks! What is the total weight without water of your rucksack? By Ryanair or Easyjet does it count as cabin luggage?

Thanks! Agreed - there’s so much to see over there. Hoping I get to go back sometime to explore more 🥾
Good video.
Thanks JB
Did you ever wish for some thin fleece gloves?
Hey Tobias they would definitely come in handy on some nights yes!
@@jackbrookes on the list then, cheers
