As someone who solo hikes for days on end and wildcamps all the time myself, I gotta say Liam has some serious balls, unless you have experienced total aloneness where nobody is about for days it is a little hard to grasp the concept of how vulnerable that can make you feel, and to do it on this terrain and in that heat and being unfamiliar with the type of land is absolutely inspiring stuff. I often get nervous or bouts of anxiety when I'm out in the wild on my own, Liam seems to handle it so well. It really is truly Impressive stuff mate 👏🏻👏🏻❤

Thank you for making this video. I walked extensively in La Gomera a number of years ago. I thought the signage of all the trails was outstanding and my wife and I had a good look at the route that traversed the islands. Well done and thank you for sharing.

I walked the spine of Fuerteventura in 1997 over 4 days, It was like walking on the moon and the entire trip cost me less than £120 including my flights.

Great video Liam, inspiring stuff to see and as others have said, your chilled non-influencer-wannabe style delivery is what makes this such a pleasant watch. I Mountain Biked Lanzarote earlier in the year and can relate to some of your volcanic sections of this trip a little. Would be really cool to see your route map / altitude charts like you see on Strava etc.

The Canaries really are stunning. don't sleep on the other islands, they may be a bit less 'unspoilt' but it's still incredibly easy to get away from all the package hotels and into remote, otherwordly scenery. I'd also love to see you tackle Madeira - the levada routes there were the summit of my hiking 'career' (albeit that is incredibly small and pathetic compared to what you get up to)

Stunning adventure! The only islands I've ever camped on was Anacapa (Channel Islands) and Catalina. Your narration and video production has become excellent in such a short time. The knowledge you have about geology and your destinations is fantastic. And the sunset at the end was gorgeous, reminds me of home. Thanks for this intro to the Canaries. I love your content.

No unnecessary fluff like a lot of TH-camrs do, great commentary, and almost experiencing it myself in the most comfortable way. Honestly inspiring and incredibly fun to watch! :D

But what an experience and given your love and appreciation of nature, it clearly brings you so much happiness which shines through with that smile and laugh. Sad about the drone but it was definitely not worth the risk to try and retrieve. Set up a crowdfund and we will all contribute towards a new one. Only came across your channel recently Liam but I cannot tell you how good these adventures are.
I was lucky enough to visit La Gomera last year. The only island to be completely protected by UNESCO - your video really does justice as to why.
The locals are great. They use a bird language to communicate over the hills by making noises through their hands.
In San Sebastián they still hold Christopher Columbus is high regard. La Gomera was his first stop on his first voyage to the Americas. The hotel he stayed in is still preserved.
The island is magic. Thanks for documenting this and taking us on your journey!
All I can say is wow, Liam. Scenery to die for. I don't have the funds to go to the Canary Islands presently, but because of this video it is now on my must go destination list. Cheers.
i got a flight to lanzarote to do that leg of this camino. flight was 40 quid return from london, brought all my food with me so spent under 100 the whole holiday! cheaper than going to birmingham !

I was born in Tenerife, but my parents left when I was a few months old, and I (unassertive bundle that I was) had little option but to go with them. Now, despondently stuck here in Madrid, your images have given me the urge to visit the islands as soon as possible (if possible).

I've hiked la ruta de los volcanes and would say its probably the best one day hike I've done (and I've done the Tongariro Alpine Crossing in NZ which is allegedly the best one day walk in the world..). Had weather the same as your trip - which is really typical canarian weather.
That was the first I've heard about the gas vents - which is strange as I always hike in the Canary Islands with friends from there.
There's a lot of other great hikes in the canary islands but I think these are pretty unknown to English speakers as I've never met any English speakers on them (mostly Germans and Scandanavians)
Awesome video Liam as always and what an adventure. La Palma reminds me of Ascension Island where I spent a 6 month tour with the RAF back in the 80's !

This video was extra cool to me as I will be heading back to La Palma soon on a follow-up filming expedition where I'll be hiking and camping up on the Cumbre Vieja. Top job mate, thanks!!!

I was just there and i can highly recommend La Gomera! There is literally no one hiking. Just old people (mostly Germans) in the hotels near the sea, but no one on the trails up on the hills. The nature is more diverse than a thought and that made it a cool trip. Especially the shady magic looking woods in the center, but also the canyons.

Both great locations. On La Gomera I think it’s cloud forest you walked through (been there). And on La Palma you walked just above the volcano that erupted in 2021. The path you were on follows the ridge up the spine of the island (which is just a giant volcano), and about 2/3 along it, on its western flank, the volcano spewed ash and lava, as you pointed out at the end of the video. But I take my hat off to you. That is a beast of a climb right up to the top, and same going down. Well done. I love La Palma…a hidden gem of an island.

Great video Liam. Have visited the Canary Islands many times, but only Lanzarote, Tenerife and Fuertaventura. Planning to visit La Palma eventually - watched lots of vloggers there during the horrific eruption of 2021 where so many houses and a couple of entire villages were wiped out. Such a lovely island as is La Gomera as well as I can see in your video.

Sitting here at home on the couch with a cold, I was cheering you on for the last bit. That was an awesome adventure. Something about the clouds hanging in the air like that is so magical. Beautiful end shot with the sun setting over the sea. Can't believe you were so near that volcano that erupted in 2021, that was so insane, I remember checking up on it every day on live streams (!) and thinking omg how is it still erupting?! Went on for months.

Nice one mate. My Dad who is half Spanish and born in Tenerife, walked La Gomera and El Hierro in the 60s when he was about 19. The photos he has are amazing - a different time back then. Keep it up!

Brilliant video that mate, at 36 year old I spent the early part of my life in the army, Id never been on holiday before this year when me and my girlfriend went to Tenerife, we went up Teide and absolutely fell in love with the canaries and the whole time I was there all I could think about was doing some wildcamping and Trek's there! After watching this its definitely inspired me to go back and do something similar. Keep up the good work inspiring people mate 👍

Love volcanoes and the landscapes they create, they are awe-inspiring, and also really hard to walk over. I hiked out to the erruption on Iceland last year, it was incredible.

Hats off dude, La Palma is a challenge for hiking but so worth it. Watching you there has me yearning for a 3rd trip out there. Sad but wise choice on the drone.
