I was trying to remember the last time i was excited by Nars, and it hit me that it was the Man Ray collection! That was one of the most gorgeous and exciting collections I'd ever seen from any brand, why they moved away from this kind of highly artistic collection I will never understand.
Why am I so bored with Nars? 🤷♀️. They have great products but I hate they re-release same shades, different packaging. Thankyou Rebecca. Have a great day.
Aside from Train Bleu, which was horribly patchy, NARS has never been an interesting brand to me. 🤷🏻♀ they do color makeup, but . . . kinda boring if what you're wanting is real color. And then of course just pushing those pinks all the time, who doesn't have them at this point??
I have the Sex Appeal blush in the new-ish regular blush line and that is a totally matte product. This new Sex Appeal is stated as being light-reflecting and luminous, and the fact that you are saying that it shows up on you as a highlighter does suggest to me that this is a totally different formula than the regular Sex Appeal. I did order this new one - you had me scared for a moment that I had made a mistake and bought something I already have! But that does not seem to be the case. ❤
I’d love to know your findings on this new release compared to the recently re-launched formula - if it is actually light reflective? Do you find the new Sex Appeal to be preferable to the previous formulation?
I’m so wanted to see these!!!! Thank you!!!! I already got S3x appeal lol I love it … I was super tempted by the eyeshadow and blush lol but I contained myself 🤣🤣🤣
Very pretty on you. Reminds me of a subdued pillow talk type look. I’m intrigued by the lavender powder bc I do have deep set eyes, but I already have the ridiculously priced chantecaille metal powder from this last Xmas, and also the bubble powder from westman atelier, so unless I can try the powder in person and it changes my life, I’ll likely pass. Tks for sharing this with us ❤
This is actually the first time in a while that I’ve been excited about a new NARS release. I guess it’s because I like that glowy, lit-from-within look, and they’ve addressed that. The eyeshadow palette is so pretty, with the satin finishes and that duochrome topper shade. I’m not sure how the blush would look on me, but it would probably be more of a highlighter on me as well. But the powders, both pressed and loose, are beautiful and really give you a flawless, brightening effect. I’m not much of a loose powder fan because I seem to manage getting it all over the place, but I really like the blurring effect of the pressed powder. I think it’s probably more toned down because of the apricot color in it, although you could be right about the loose powder having more reflectivity. I do think lavender is flattering on a multitude of skin tones, which might have something to do with its burgeoning popularity in makeup. Great video!
Ty Rebecca! As always, love your channel and approach! I kind of like the blush and pressed powder but I want to see in store! The lavender is interesting but would like to see how it looks one!😂🎉🎉🎉Have a great day!!
Great review! Love me some Nars products but i just find i dont gravitate to them anymore and i end up gifting them to friends/family but i am liking the look of the new lilac powder it did brighten 🌸🌷.
Paul & Joe had a Doraemon lilac-y pressed powder that was very brightening, but I had to be careful because using too much went very ashy on me. I am very yellow-green, so taking away too much yellow just looks white/grey. But it's super pretty in the pan.
This is the first I’ve seen on any of these products! You have done it again! 💪🏻 I have combo/oily skin and I much prefer setting with a loose powder. I think the lack of binders is what makes it work better for me because it’s less cakey. I’m okay with a finishing powder either way because I’m using less of it. As a warm olive, I’m not sure if a lavender powder would be great or a disaster on me. 😂 My gut says disaster. I’ve been on the lookout for this quad since seeing it on Instagram. It’s really, really pretty. That lip color is gorgeous on you! We use finishing powder exactly the same way with the exact same brush! I, too, love a pearlescent finishing powder!
NARS makes some great products! Maybe they’re not going viral or getting super hyped but I feel like NARS has been a staple brand in my makeup collection for a long time and for good reason! I’ve been wearing their tinted moisturizer a bunch lately (perfect for these hot summer days where I don’t want anything heavy on my face). And I love their blushes!
I love the Givenchy loose powder. It really works for me. Your look is very pretty. I do like NARS but it’s been a very long time since I’ve been wowed by them. I hope you’re feeling better. You do look perkier!❤❤❤
I was just checking out the NARS site last night because I realized after trying something like 50 different lip products across every brand from Milani to Victoria Beckham (my other low & high $ faves), the NARS lipgloss is my hands down favorite for look and feel, it’s the most truly non-sticky gloss with no weird taste or scent, and the new blushes are just really solid, dependable winners even if all the children on TikTok aren’t losing their minds over them - all the better in my book, my local stores will still have stock when I decide I want a new shade! 😂 8 months of trying a bunch of trendy things has only brought me back to appreciating much of NARS
Wow that eyeshadow palette is so beautiful on you! You look so fresh-faced. I can't wait til it arrives in Europe 😊 Also love the shade of the blush - I am fair so I think it would be a beautiful soft pretty option. Overall a very romantic collection, I think it's well named! I don't really have any interest in the lavender powders but I can see the difference when you used them. I am too loyal to my Givenchy prisme libre (the fairest shade of the powder has lavender, green, blue, and white).
I prefer a loose powder but that pressed in has caught my eye. I feared it was just the look of the powder that was drawing my attention but it's Nars so it shoukd be a great product.
I love a good lilac powder !! I want them both so much !!! Suqqu had those 20th anniversary powders Addiction Tokyo has the pink tone powder Dior has that pinky tone powder
Hi lovely Rebecca !! I don’t own much from Nars to be fair . I have the Laguna eyeshadow from last year . Givenchy is my favourite loose powder . I purchased the Suqqu Anniversary face compact in 103 lavender, I don’t use it under my eyes just on my face I really like it . I just don’t gravitate to Nars unless it really grabs my attention ❤🥰
I prefer loose powder over pressed powder. Having extremely oily skin I use loose powder at home and take a pressed powder with me as I need to tone down my shine often. The press powder can start to get cakey on me and the powder itself absorbs the oils from my face.
My very deep dark pits of despair could really do with some talc free lavender powder😅 Unfortunately I have only found one here in Sweden and it is not quite lavender but a mix of pink and lavender🤥 I can look a bit sallow or grey in the autumn and winter so think this could be useful for my whole face then if it did not work under the eyes. I also have super fair, thin skin with a cool undertone so very difficult to find the right shades here where 95 % seem to have warm light to medium undertone and the brands here only cater for them, skipping us cool ghosts altogether😢
I’ve been looking for a good lavender powder product like this to brighten my skin - I haven’t found one comparable to WA Pink bubble which is technically “pink” not lavendar😂. I want to check this out!❤ now after watching the full review I think I want the quad first and maybe if the powder is in store, I’ll check it out too. I do have really deep set eyes that look more sunken in every year🥵😓
Thanks for explaining the difference between setting powder and finishing powder, but I still don’t get it 😢 I’m sure it’s just me being dumb, but would you use both together? Wouldn’t that get a bit… powdery? Can you use a setting powder as a finishing powder and vice versa? I’m so confused 🫤!!
A setting powder sets your foundation/concealer. A finishing powder (always pressed) goes on a brush lightly over your finished base for a seamless blend and soft focus.
This is an easy pass for me, I think the quad is “fine” and I have enough “fine” makeup lol. The blush will be really subtle on me-actually I doubt it would appear. You looked so pretty and my ears perked up when you said Givenchy is coming out with a new powder 🤸🏿♂️
I love the idea of a loose powder, but I’d rather use a pressed powder that is good as both, setting and finishing powder. I just prefer less shine, pearlescent etc. I feel I’m always too shiny as is. I actually thought both looked good on you. I also would be concerned about purple tones under eye since I also have deep pits of despair too. But seemed to look nice on camera on you. Eye palette looked nice if you need a basic neutral color scheme. Definitely liked better than the previous ones. Behave meh. Would be a highlighter on me as I’m same color, tone as you. You know I keep wanting to love NARS as I have used in past but I keep feeling like the products seem to just not stand out. I’d love your favorite pressed powder suggestion as I can seem to find my holy grail there.
You sound better! I don’t care for the blush or quad - too warm! But I do love the lilac/lavender powder (the loose one). I may give that a try. I only wear pressed powder under my eyes and I don’t think that light reflecting will do me any favors! IMHO it is a weird release. The blush and eyeshadow quad are warm and the two powders are cool. To me, they don’t really go together!
Lovely 💞💞💞💞 packaging for that new blush but that "Sex Appeal" shade is awful!! That ain't a blush...yuck!! I'm upset that NARS discontinued their "Sin" and "Mata Hari" shades!! 🥺
Mmm 🤔 this looks way to light for me lol 😂 but look beautiful on you ! It did bright up your complexion, I have to said the blush is meee didn’t even see it on you color skin 😅 . The eye shadow is soooo boring but I know the formula is delightful if you don’t have those color right , thank you my friend ❤
Not feeling any of these products. Wouldn’t work on my light med warm complexion. I could wear pink or lilac blush, including lipsticks in that color, but these products are too light for me.
This swirl pattern is nothing new and NARS honestly doesn’t do anything new lately which annoys me. It’s always just repackaged permanent stuff. This coloring has been done before by Mac in Lightscapde. It’s honestly a pass for me bc I already have lightscapade and it’s amazing.

Ohhhhh that Man Ray palette was goosebumps good
I just got that powder on Saturday. I love NARS!!
Oh you’ll love you it!!
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty are you feeling better? Your voice doesn't sound 100% back to normal.
Why am I so bored with Nars? 🤷♀️. They have great products but I hate they re-release same shades, different packaging. Thankyou Rebecca. Have a great day.

Agree. Maybe it's because the last few viral lip products, foundations, etc disappointed me and now I'm cynical, heh.
They feel like they need a marketing reboot to me.
I have the Sex Appeal blush in the new-ish regular blush line and that is a totally matte product. I’d love to know your findings on this new release compared to the recently re-launched formula - if it is actually light reflective? Do you find the new Sex Appeal to be preferable to the previous formulation?
I prefer this formula as at least I can use it as a highlight. It’s far too light as a blush. But i do enjoy the new formula!
Finally 1 of a NARS eyeshadow palette that Doesn’t look the same as the usual ones. Looks pretty on you.
I prefer this one so much, Belinda.
I’m so wanted to see these!!!! Thank you!!!! I already got S3x appeal lol I love it … I was super tempted by the eyeshadow and blush lol but I contained myself 🤣🤣🤣
I have not yet learned to control myself around Nars
The blusher has my heart 💖 😊
It is a pretty one specially on fair skin
You look lovely as usual!
I actually like the Milky Way loose powder. May have to pick it up. I like Nars too. It's always effortless 💜
I’m always curious to try a loose powder
Very pretty on you. Reminds me of a subdued pillow talk type look. Totally. Adding another pricey powder, it had better be swoon worthy.

Lavender is definitely the new hue. I think we’re gonna see it more and more but I do like it mixed with a little bit of that apricot to tame it
Ty Rebecca! As always, love your channel and approach! I kind of like the blush and pressed powder but I want to see in store! The lavender is interesting but would like to see how it looks one!😂🎉🎉🎉Have a great day!!
I don’t blame you, Mary. Lilac could be so so wrong.
will get the quad and blush highlight!💖
💕💕💕
So excited to hear about those new brushes!
rephr!!!
I could not see any wrinkles under the eye, love the look you created 😍💖💖💖
So true! It’s good!
Great review! Love me some Nars products but i just find i dont gravitate to them anymore and i end up gifting them to friends/family but i am liking the look of the new lilac powder it did brighten 🌸🌷.
They’re sooo intriguing. But not necessarily endlessly intriguing. Haha.
Paul & Joe had a Doraemon lilac-y pressed powder that was very brightening, but I had to be careful because using too much went very ashy on me. I am very yellow-green, so taking away too much yellow just looks white/grey. But it's super pretty in the pan.
You’re right. There’s that fine fine line

I love a good lilac powder !! I want them both so much !!! Suqqu had those 20th anniversary powders
Addiction Tokyo has the pink tone powder
Dior has that pinky tone powder
The pinky toes are a little bit easier to use than a lilac but I’m getting used to the lilac

It’s really different quite interesting

Hello Melissa! Loose is indeed messy

True. True.
Rebecca, did you review the TirTir foundation? If not, will you be, please?
I didn’t actually. I need to look into it.
Thank you, great job! Do you feel this is different enough from the Lunar New Year eyeshadow palette to make it worth purchasing?
I do actually. The duochrome, the satin shades.
Great reply, Carole! And I keep setting just in a few spots. And the finishing buffed to smoothness over it all :)
Hi Rebecca, are those powders supposed to be color correcting?😊
Brightening really.
Why are we “with love”ing in June? Aren’t we a few months late and a few months too early for love month?
Thought the same. Had to check mental calendar.
Great review! Sex Appeal is both limited edition in shade and that formula--in the regular packaging, it is matte.
