I've been so nervous about starting photoshop but this accessible video really calmed me down. I've watched a handful of tutorials but this is the most straight forward, easy to follow lesson on image blending you will ever find. Thanks Colin. I really appreciate this video.
I watched this tutorial several months back. Sometimes after watching your tutorials I think to myself, I don’t think I-will ever use any of those tips. But every so often I surprise myself when I run into an editing problem and I can’t remember how to do something. Case in point I made a Milky Way panorama and ended up with checkerboard space above and below the image. I couldn’t remember how to get rid of it but I remembered you showing how to do it in a video. I went back, found this video and used the trim tool to solve my problem. Thanks Colin.
This is the best teaching I have received this week! I was struggling until I found this. Now I am just trying to perfect it on a basic level. Thank you!
awesome!!! YOU ARE A LIFESAVER MY MAN. I FINALLY BROKE DOWN AND BOUGHT PHOTOSHOP. I HAVE BEEN IN THE LAB FOR THE PAST 2 DAYS WORKING ON A POSTER. YOUR VID WAS THE LAST STEP I NEEDED TO MAKE A LINE DISAPPEAR. GREAT WORK KEEP EM COMING. SUBBED
Thank you for carefully explaining each step and saying what to click on each time. Photoshop can be a bit intimidating, but you make me feel a good deal more comfortable doing things in it.
Even though I'm an "old time" Photoshop user, I really enjoy your tutorials. I pick up something from every one of them. Keep picking and I'll keep watching. Thanks.
Finally! A person who knows how I learn (slowly). Probably the 5th video I tried and all the rest were far too quick and assumed I knew how to import pictures as layers etc. Thank you - and of course - subscribed.
Wow, that is a really great technics in photo editing, even I can use it in my video editing, your technics is valuable in editing, I'm very thankful for your valuable tutorials, Colin.
Perfect timing. Just yesterday I was trying to blend images and it didn't go so smoothly. After watching this excellent video I'll make it happen. Great learning videos. Keep them coming.
I recently switched from Elements to PS (could've install Elements from disc!!), so I'm learning all new ways of working with combining images in layers. This tutorial was invaluable--thanks!!
I know this video is old, but I'll comment this anyway for all the newcomers. If you follow the second method where he uses the brush tool to blend the two images, you're most likely confused as to why you're just leaving black lines on your image lol. You have to make sure to have 'Select the layer make' option selected. After you select 'Layer Mask' go up to the 'Properties' tab (below the 'color' tab on the right hand side of the screen) and it will be the option on the left
Appreciate watching these methods. However, if I can make a recommendation, I would suggest that if you instruct two different styles, go thru the first style in its entirety, and then show the 2nd style. Jumping back and forth can become a bit confusing, and drag out the learning process when you combine the two. Again, thank you for posting.
I did learn several things ... I have been using photoshop for years but all these little tips you have really really do make me able to streamline my work process. Thank you thank you!
Thanks. For some reason I have always had an issue with combining two images. I think it was some type of mental block. Thank you and thank you for all you do.
Hi, Colin! I am also Colin! Thank you for all your tutorials. This is such a helpful TH-cam channel! Is that a Death Trooper, Darth Maul, and Emperor Palpatine behind you? I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan, and I got a nice collection of photos from Disneyland's Star Wars Galaxy's Edge before the park closed, and I'm going to use everything I learned from you to make some composites with them!
Excellent and V useful..... had to play around a bit but finally go there... nice easy manner in explaining the myriads of PS options and it's maze.... Many Thanks
