I know after I spent some money on my rods and reels my fishing experience changed drastically for the better. Finding a rod and reels that your conformable fishing with is priceless.
Congrats on almost 80k, y'all stay true. I can only imagine how hard it is to come up new content. Very impressed with y'all coming out with your own brand with help by a great Florida rod maker. Please don't sell out.
I'vw been running a charter on Cape Cod Bay for over 40 years. A while ago i built a pair oif light action rods for 12 lb. test lead core line. I spiral wrapped them. It works great. Since then I've built a number of spiral wrapped rods for different methods of fishing we use. It is a great concept...
We use acid wrapped rods for bottom fishing halibut in ALASKA and they work wonderfully. Minimizes the rod rolling in your hand as you reel up large fish. Looks kinda weird, but works well. Think you’ll like it on your rods. 👍
I have a friend here in the Florida Panhandle that has a 9ft acid wrapped casting rod he paired with a Calcutta baitcaster that he uses for sight fishing Cobia every year from the pier. Damn most accurate casting rod and strongest I have ever seen. If memory serves the blank is also a Rainshadow. Great job Captains!!
Very, very, very good show. Very authentic and authoritative. You had command of the entire video. Excellent. You keep getting better. I can’t wait for your rods to come available. Stay blessed. And again, great to see you on the open water.
When I spiral wrap my rods I make the transition guides go to the left if it’s a right hand retrieve reel. And to the right if it’s a left hand retrieve reel. For me, it seems to balance better when you wrap the guides to the opposite side of the reels retrieval.
Congratulations on the Rods, super cool that you guys have your own signature series rods! Next you need a Gale Force Edition Boat fully set up how you'd have it. 👍
So on spiral/acid wrapped rods, when the reel handle is on the right shouldn’t the guides roll to the left side of the pole? Left hand crank guides roll to the right. It helps in counterbalancing the twist. Rain Shadow have know that, unless it doesn’t really matter. I ask because I have two rods built that way.
That would make sense. I have one too but can't remember which way it twists. I think it's more of a gimmick though. The reasoning behind seems like a solution for a problem that doesn't really exists. I guess when was the last time you heard of someone's line breaking due to friction or something. Usually if a line is breaking it's a the knot or something the fish did not due to the friction on the line from the rod(or the guides really). A good rod with good guides is all you need.
We sell these rods in New Zealand. We call them acid wrap rods. They are Japanese style very thin, used for slow pitch jigging, and heavier PE 5 to 8 for kingfish (amberjack) thanks for the video
Big Bottom fishing rod Heavy enough, Tough enough to reel in a Gale Force Twin on the end of the Line! LOL! Tested in Reel World environment approved by GFT! o,o
We need to know if you have some rods that will break down for easy shipping to up here in Alaska. Need some heavy duty rods and reels for Halibut and King Salmon fishing.
Your rod had the guides spiral around to the right side (when looking up the rod) when you are using your left hand to hold the rod and right hand to reel? Other sources of slow pitch rods recommend have guides spiral away from side you are reeling. Is the direction critical or just personal preference?
Spiral wrapped guides are very common here in South east asia and Australia for many years now. carbon blanks are solid, Reinforced with x wrapped carbon mesh to eliminate warping and lateral movements😄😄😄
Any reason y’all have the guides spiraling to the right and not the left? I’ve heard you want them spiraling away from your reeling hand, but I’m sure it’s not crucial. Great video as always
I was told that the spiral should always go opposite of the reel handle. Reel handle of right side on reel, spiral goes counter clockwise (looking from butt to tip) and likewise, handle on left side of reel spiral goes clockwise and this counteracts almost all torque.
spiral wraps're the only way to go ... more so when fighting big fish, hard running fish. no wobbles, no more set up trying to jump/twist outta yer hands, no more tired wrists
Hi hi ladies, Amanda is it easier for you to hold the rod that way? Do you have more holding power? I never seen it held like that. I am a small female with small hands and we know that fishing gear is not made for us so I try to find ways to compinsate in other ways. The largest reel I could use comfortably is the Avet Hx, I think I can go with the Avet ex30wide and that is it and I gust bought a spiral wrapped rod today the NJ fishing expo, hope it works great for me. Let me know if both of you ever make it to the NJ saltwater fishing expo in the future, you would bring in a big crowd for us women.
Great tutorial. Wish the fish were landed 😁 Can we purchase these rods and sweat type of reel do you both use for jigging and bottom fishing. Setups sre awsone!
On your website it says that Amanda is right handed but to she looks like she fishes left handed. I prefer to control the rod with my dominant hand and do the cranking (control the reel) with my off hand. Is one way preferred over the other or is it just personal preference?
I don’t have much offshore fishing experience so here is an off the wall question. Have either of you or a charter client ever gone overboard trying to bring in a large fish?
GFT - 80K Subscribers, Wahoo! Looking for a 9’ spinning rod, to cast live eel into the rocks for Northeast Striped Bass. Slower action with enough backbone to pull fish through a Boulder field.
You ladies prove every video that y’all are more than a pretty face. I appreciate the lack of bikinis. I enjoyed the fishing and your ability to put out a quality rod. If the price is in my budget I will have one. Great video I enjoyed it very much
good fish eat cook up right take small baru fish deep fri up 10 in fish baru dip egg flounder mix cornmeal old bay salt black pepper bait do eat them dig let good shark dait crab bait use catfish bait eat small baru fish let go big one baru ?!
These are old news rods. They are junk and break more easily. They defeat the purpose of the rod backbone. Just copied techbfrom my buddy in Australia from over 5yrs ago

My aunt has been making custom rods like this for decades. She would wrap them depending on if you were lefthand or righthand.
Love that y’all are always laughing!
We use acid wrapped rods for bottom fishing halibut in ALASKA and they work wonderfully. Minimizes the rod rolling in your hand as you reel up large fish. Looks kinda weird, but works well. Think you’ll like it on your rods. 👍
Thank you so much for posting these videos. I learn so much !!! Good job Amanda !!
Thank you for sharing your adventures...
Definitely one of the most unique fishing rods I’ve ever seen, but the science behind it does make sense
Lol acid wrapped rods have been around since the 80s. There’s a reason why it hasn’t caught on. Because it’s a gimmick with normal sized blanks
I have a friend here in the Florida Panhandle that has a 9ft acid wrapped casting rod he paired with a Calcutta baitcaster that he uses for sight fishing Cobia every year from the pier. You two bring joy to fishing
I love the idea of the spiral wrap!!
Congratulations on the new rods.they look awesome...tight lines always an keep up the good work
Can’t wait to have access to the rods... hurry hurry..lol
Great rod information. Great fishing.
Awesome! Can't wait to get that pre-order email. Maybe I can get one for our trip on Yankee Capt in May :) Way to go ladies!
Ha Ha that was some fun watching ! goofs ;)
When I spiral wrap my rods I make the transition guides go to the left if it’s a right hand retrieve reel. And to the right if it’s a left hand retrieve reel. For me, it seems to balance better when you wrap the guides to the opposite side of the reels retrieval.
Congrats, ladies.
Amazing ROD for fishing...👍👍👍
Congratulations on the Rods, super cool that you guys have your own signature series rods! Next you need a Gale Force Edition Boat fully set up how you'd have it. 👍
I have spiral wraps on a tuna rod and also on a bottom rod with a blank from rainshadow called The Judge

@@brianlb78 it's definitely not a gimmick. A big bottom fish will torque you out, so the guides acid wrapped to the left will help correct that.
We sell these rods in New Zealand. We call them acid wrap rods. They are Japanese style very thin, used for slow pitch jigging, and heavier PE 5 to 8 for kingfish (amberjack) thanks for the video
I think you should call that rod the Ultimate Force
Yes don't forget if you crank right handed you spiral guides go the left. And vise versa. Good video you two.
Big Bottom fishing rod Heavy enough, Tough enough to reel in a Gale Force Twin on the end of the Line! LOL! Tested in Reel World environment approved by GFT! o,o
The new rods are looking sharp
We need to know if you have some rods that will break down for easy shipping to up here in Alaska. Need some heavy duty rods and reels for Halibut and King Salmon fishing.
Same here I was also wondering that as well

Great job Girls !
When your rods become available, will we be able to choose our own colors, or are they stock/default your colors only?
Spiral wrapped guides are very common here in South east asia and Australia for many years now. carbon blanks are solid, Reinforced with x wrapped carbon mesh to eliminate warping and lateral movements😄😄😄
We called these "Acid Wraps" 10 years ago. I've been building rods thsi way for years & caught a lot of flack for my twisted rods..................
Have a Blessed wk be safe out there in the water
What ever happened to the production at Rainshadow rods? Do you still have the prototypes? Thanks Sarge
Great video! I just went carp fishing today have you ever tried it.
Any reason y’all have the guides spiraling to the right and not the left? I’ve heard you want them spiraling away from your reeling hand, but I’m sure it’s not crucial. Great video as always
About to say this. You want it to twist away from reel hand or twist to the opposite side of the handle
Does the spiral guide goes to the right on the Slow pitch rod??
Gail force+googan squad= googan force
Doe the spiral wrap help not having to move your thumb back and forth. Like if you were to have a level wind. ?
I was told that the spiral should always go opposite of the reel handle. Reel handle of right side on reel, spiral goes counter clockwise (looking from butt to tip) and likewise, handle on left side of reel spiral goes clockwise and this counteracts almost all torque.
This
Is there going to be bait casting rods
Our collection is growing!! :) We will spinners and conventional for multiple uses!
8:01 LOL at the background music.
Wow Nice Maam
📌
Saw you were using the accurate tern on the slow pitch, what pound braid were you using???
Yesssssssss
Is that rod and reel combo for sale?....if not what will u recommend...im about to start fishing offshore. Thanks
I only use these acid wrap style rods. They provide much more leverage
Are you not using roller tip-top guides?
spiral wraps're the only way to go ... more so when fighting big fish, hard running fish. no wobbles, no more set up trying to jump/twist outta yer hands, no more tired wrists

What reel youre using on the rod?

In normally, how long leader line used ?
right hand left wrap, Left hand right wrap! why not put some steel leaders when fishing around toothy swimmers? great video as always, thanks.
Ladies I would like to wish y'all a Happy woman's day today on the 8th of March God bless love y'all my friends ❤️
Been around for years in OB Al.
I would think that with this spiral style rods, there would be some sort of resistance when casting your line out.
Can't wait for your new rods to become publicly available. I enjoy your instructional videos on boating techniques also.
good fish
Hate you lost your favorite jig . Can you please let me know how much the heavy bottom rod cost. Thank y'all in advance

GFT - 80K Subscribers, Wahoo!

Amanda, Emily love you guys #AFANALWAYS

ever heard of shimano ?
poor Amanda .....( I hold left and crank right too.. but it's because of a bum shoulder. )
Sounds like you two took a few physics classes
I've been building "Acid Wrapped" bottom rods for over 12 years. Much easier to fish when the blank is loaded. Oh, how they laughed...
I love you amanda gale
The fish you caught, barracuda? Impressive teeth if you could extract the larger fangs they would make for some interesting jewelry
Man you guy's need an electric reel for deep dropping where are the sponsors? 😉😉
There is absolutely nothing new about the way those guides are wrapped. I had my first spiral wrapped rod in 1985.
Never seen a rod like that.
Eat that cuda! So good!
The rods should be wrapped to the left for those reels🤦🏽
They only have been out for 25 years
This is not a new design, I bought spiral bass rod in 1982. Sorry to bruist your bubble!
There’s no science behind it that type rod creates to mean pressure points a regular rod has one pressure point
Yikes alps grip is bad for rods.
good fish eat cook up right take small baru fish deep fri up 10 in fish baru dip egg flounder mix cornmeal old bay salt black pepper bait do eat them dig let good shark dait crab bait use catfish bait eat small baru fish let go big one baru ?!

Just a gimmick.
