I have seen your video review on dji osmo action 5. I thougt it was on the camera but now the same muddy anr jittery video output on ace pro 2. Ive seen some content creators using same camera settings like you to achive that motion blur but didnt turn out like that. Maybe they do something on post but who knows. Recently osmo action 5 pro release a firmware update for higher bit rate and i think it looks better in low light than ace. It would be great if you make a comparison.
You really can't watch youtube video's to determine image quality of the camera. The footage is recompressed at whatever bitrate the creator selects when rendering the video. I learnt this early on when I watched back a video I shot on youtube and it looked nothing like footage when it was played from the original file.
I can see similar micro jitters that you can in the action 5 Pro except the action. 5 Pro has better microphone connectivity for vlogging, especially for motor vlogging because you could connect two microphones and have one of them be used for the engine sound and the other one for your voice and you could modulate them to get a really nice audio effect. Audio is just as important if not more important than video when it comes to moto vlogging. My small experience with helmet mics tells me that embedded comms tend to sound much better than external comms like the cardo you are using (removing the noise cancelation on your comms might also help with sound quality). I have a goPro 12 and if I connect the comms it also stores both the headset and external audio tracks. Insta360 is for sure focusing on really good features and targeting more the motorcycle market. The night capture is incredible and the wind muffler seems to work really well too. I am happy to see this going in the right direction (something that I can't say for GoPro)
This audio capabilities are game changer for me. Well, in this review, as in others, I see that the video starts to blur, I heard that they can fix it, but for me it is still an open question
The cardo voice mic sounds pretty bad. There's jittering in the stabilzation in daylight as well as night on the Pro 2. The onboard bike sound is ok, but at higher speeds, not really usable. It's better than nothing I guess, but I can hear my bike a little with my helmet mic, so I don't see this as a win for me. Also, the camera keeps hunting for color temperature or something. There's an animated blooming going on. Insta360 gear of the 3 main brands has been the least reliable for me. Their cameras tend to shut off frequently. Their app has little control over the cameras (at least the ones I have) and dealing with their support is the worst of the big 3. The low light off the bike on this camera is far and away the best of any action camera, but on the bike, it jitters. Maybe it wouldn't if stabilization were disabled, but ya kinda need that. So I can't really see myself going for this camera as a motorcyclist.

@@chaseontwowheels I think so too. All joking aside, these cameras are getting pretty damn good all around so it's hard to figure out which one's the best without spending over $1000 to find out on our own.
Not many people use 8K because cameras capable of shooting 8K cost thousands of dollars. Out of all of the large tech channels I've watched over the years only one of them has an actual 8K camera. He tends to shoot in native 8K which he then down samples to 4K so there is little loss in video quality when he uploads to YT. Video footage shot in 8K is good for b-roll of things when it needs to be seen up close with no loss of detail. Small channels and average people who put up content tend to gravitate toward action cameras because they're small, shoot good video and are affordable at a few hundred dollars. Or if they already have an iPhone or good Android phone they'll stick to that because they already have it. Some high-end phones are capable of recording 8K video as well but it takes up A LOT of space and phones are space limited. So whoever is shooting the video will stick to 4K/2K(1440p) and 1080p for the higher quality settings. While $420 isn't cheap for this thing it's still affordable compared to a true 8K camera that will easily set you back $15,000 without lenses and accessories. While it seems gimmicky now something like this will open the door to more people for shooting in native 8K and then down sampling it to 4K to help reduce quality loss. I would say the two biggest things still stopping a lot of average citizens from shooting at high resolution is their means of uploading the footage. Which is whatever their platform is and the quality of the internet they're connecting to. The vast majority of the public don't have a desktop computer and if they do it's usually a much older system. But everyone does have a cell phone or a tablet of some kind and 1080p is quick while still looking good. Very fast internet is also still hard to get in some more remote locations.
"While it seems gimmicky now something like this will open the door to more people for shooting in native 8K and then down sampling it to 4K to help reduce quality loss." It really doesn't. The only thing that would actually do that is cameras on phones. You say phone space is limited, as if the videos would be meaningfully smaller when shot on this. It won't be. Phones already sell. Not gonna lie, the dashcam mode sounds great, till I remember that I'd have to manually set it up each time, and it only lasts about two hours total. Might as well get a proper dashcam on the bike instead. DJI, it's your turn to add that feature. Doesn't really seem to be a big upgrade overall though and in comparison to the new GoPro and DJI, I still wouldn't take it. The base model of the DJI is cheaper than this one's and for about the same price as the double battery option, I can get the Action 5 with an extra battery, all of which last way longer than this, and a nice lil charger. But after all of this...GoPro, cmon, do something.

All this morons yotubers think that they actualy do videos for hollywoood and instead of having a good watchable video they make the image so shaky and muddy that it's unbearableto watch!
I'll give ya that. I need more time to play with it to get the perfect settings using the ND filters. I personally prefer the motion blur look, has nothing to do with "hollywood". Thanks for spending your time watch "morons youtubers".

Maybe I'll buy it next year. ND filters, Cardo support, large sensor. Seems like all I need for motovlogging. I have 360 camera from them and can't say anything bad
dji oa5 sounds like natural ace pro 2 sounds like alien
Unfortunately, not sold. Luckily all these action cameras are very similar, just pick the ideal one for your needs.
Not true. GoPro is dogshit, ever since the 8. Absolutely trash and unreliable. I've missed so many shots/recordings because it just wouldn't record for some reason. The 13 is still shit and lagging behind Insta360 and DJI. Hope the brand just dies.
Lando Norris gear spotted
linear is best
o+urI noticed, tech creators uploaded Ace Pro 2 video review at the same time. Was it coincidence? or y'll got sponsored by the company?
When dji action 5 came yall reviewed it against action 4 but for insta 360 reviewers they been told not to do that against ace pro 1 koz it will show no difference 😂
I must not have gotten that email lol
Tamara Gabriel released a video this morning comparing the Ace Pro 2 to the Ace Pro - and there is a clear and noticeable difference between the two
u can just connect cardo to the camera no need to buy any setup
if this came truly has onboard AI maybe they are using it for input audio as well
The riding portions are a complete blurfest even with the YT optimizations.
Dji 10 bit is not real 10 bit it’s just computerized 8 bit that’s stretched to 10 but even dji doesn’t call it 10 bit. It’s really just 8 bit + frc. Looks good but I’d pick the insta360 cam over the dji
Muddy Like the Action5 😂😂😂😂 Idno why insta ans Dji use that sensors😂
Because he uses ND filters and those don't get along with the electronic stabilisation cause EIS needs higher the double the framerate for stabilisation.
I've seen way better night footage with both dji action 4 and 5, also the lens flares on the ace 2 are horrible
(compares 60kmh wind noise vs 20kmh wind noise)
great testing
Can't trust Chase's reviews because they are all PAID. He knows NOTHING about getting great footage. While I do believe the ACE Pro and ACE Pro 2 are great cameras, but trust someone that knows about cameras and camera settings. Chase isn't the one.
Selloutontwowheels
I bought a Purple Panda for my Insta360 One, because of your videos, and I get absolutely zero audio from it. 👎
this and the dji look EXACTLY like go pros so it seems like go pro has been doing something right.
PureVideo is garbage with any street lights. Makes it look like an 80s neon dance party
Not convinced and actually am dissapointed of what it's suposed to be the pro of all pros. camera that is, not you.
I feel like the straight-out-of-the-box video quality is great. 10-bit isn’t really necessary for me, but it’s nice to have as an option.
