You'd have to be crazy af not to agree. Savea has been nominated several times, and he deserves this title more than ever.
He's one of the best players on the planet, one of the most consistent and one of the most important for his team.

Massive Springbok fan of 19 years here and I can happily say that Ardie Savea is one of my favourite players in the world. He's an absolute beast of a loose forward. He can tackle, carry and his tenacity is 2nd to none. Congrats and well deserved👏👏👍👍

Saffa here, and I know that that this will be a controversial opinion with both other Saffas and Kiwis given this person has beaten both teams in the past, but I think it should have gone to Bundee Aki 😅😂. That man is a rugby team on his own. Let's be honest; he practically carried Ireland on his back to victory to in the Pool stages and QFs, along with other notable Kiwi players like Lowe and Gibson park. I've never seen a big man like that be equally fast and agile on his feet 🙆🏽♀️! He's like if Hulk did ballet in rugby 🤣! Ardie Savea was just as amazing in the whole RWC, and I'm amazed at how he managed to lead the All Blacks as interim captain when Sam Cane was red carded in the finals. That's enough to test anyone's leadership skills, mentally and psychologically, and still show good sportsmanship is worthy of the award 👏🏽. But so was Bundee because he deserved so much more than not making passed the the QF stage. Such a pity, because if he hadn't have left New Zealand to play for Ireland and still played for the All Blacks, he'd finally get to play in a final. I bet you the score would be looking different (or not 🤷🏽♀️😏) and I'd be devastated, but I'd still rather lose to New Zealand than the bloody English or French. But all jokes aside, congratulations to Savea! He's a legend in my book 👏🏽🖤

Ardie is an absolute warrior every time he takes the field - whether that’s for the Lions, the Hurricanes or the All Blacks.
I suspect he’ll be taking over captaincy of the All Blacks next year. Some would’ve argued that he should’ve been captain going into the tournament but time will tell.

Such an inspiration with his constant work rate and explosiveness in every facet of the game, probably covers more ground and does more things well than than any player on the field, he's like a forward and a back rolled into one. Huge congrats Ardie, a World Cup will be yours eventually, it took Messi 5 world cups to finally win one.

It’s a team sport right and the coach is at its head? I get it, everyone else gets it. World rugby obviously doesn’t.

Probably coach of the year. Hard though cos they didn't win the Rugby Championship (not that big of a deal, but still a loss) but yeah agree with winning the WC should probably have got coach of the year. Still think Ardie deserved this slightly

It's all about how the player performs week in and week out, this guy just never has a bad game and his effort is massive. Yes South Africa are world champs but have any of their players been so consistent every game they have played this year and put in as many minutes as Ardie? I don't know because I haven't watched every Boks game but I've watched every All Blacks game and this guy is an 80min every game full on player.
