I a nair married a catholic 14 years back. Annathe kashtapadu orkkane vayya. Palliyum pattakkarum chuttichu veettukarum chuttichu. After anti conversion law became strong church is a bit hesitant on conversion and you need a strong hold in church if you want to conduct a mixed belief wedding. And also the marriage should be registered under special marriage act I guess. That's what we did. I am sad to hear that still situation has not got better. And the moment you talk about disparity of cult they will involve bishops
It’s how it is and for us process was simple and we just waited , we didn’t want any hold or anything , if a church doesn’t allow this , go to a church that allows is easily , that’s what we did and catholic churchs do allow it and are liberal from what we experienced especially on Ernakulam side . And special marriage act is the only act allowed for this anyways if u want to get registered in marriage even in Hindu or Christian marriage act in the end u need to register , so what difference does it make anyways if that’s in special marriage act , registration is with govt no matter what u have to do that simple .
Church in Kerala is like a caste.They are not keen on conversion. Understand that.

You can't change from Malankara Catholic to Syro Malabar Catholic or to Latin Catholic or vice versa unless you marry into a family because they are all Catholic. You are not allowed to change rites in the Catholic Church.
