Our marriage was solemnized by both hindu n christian rituals. We registered under this act. But it was in rural Tamilnadu as my husband's relatives arranged for everything. But when I went to sign, the registrar started making fuss that my parents also had to be there. They even took me separately to advice that love marriage doesn't work and i should go back to parents. My parents had taken a lot of leaves for both ceremonies and pre wedding, post wedding rituals and couldn't be there for registration. I had to show wedding pics, videos of my husband with my parents cutting cake and finally show my dad's passport proof and a call to get the registrar sign. Whew! It's difficult even if both sides are willing. That was 11 years ago!
Hello, didn't know someone went through the same trouble a me. Me and my husband are both Hindus and we got married as per Tamil rituals in temple. But guess what, I am Maharashtrian and even with the wedding card, photos and temple receipt were we got married the registrar was not satisfied. Registrar asked for both my parents to be there. Only my mom had come with me as my dad is no more, after which he asked for my dads death certificate to prove that no one objecting our marriage. This was all despite my in laws and my mother being present. 😓. But we could finally get it registered.
Wow! Surprisingly it is not this cumbersome in Bangalore ❤ it was quite smooth for me, just a few hours to file the application and another few hours to get married. Also we had a 60 day window after the 30 day’s notice. Just sharing in case anyone needs! Cheers to people who decide on having a legal marriage!! It’s simple and very very light on your pocket (we spent Rs. 100)❤️❤️😊😊
Being an advocate I can confirm you explained it very well. Also the starting part where you mentioned how different religions have different marriage laws. Yes, in India there are few fields where religious personal laws are into force like the marriage, property inheritance and some land reforms and that's why the current govt is focusing on implementing uniform civil code i.e. one law across country that will cater all religions and sectors of people to ensure uniformity in process and low red tapism and remove the requirement of personal laws wherever possible under article 44 of the constitution. A nice way to educate your audience and promote court marriages as it is the most sensible thing. Just do a court marriage and maybe if you want throw a reception for all the fams and frnds. Also congratulations :)
My mother and father got married this way. And very few people know about this special married act! Although I knew a lot about how it works I loved seeing your video! Because in movies they make registered marriages seem very simple..
In 2015 I was a witness for a register marriage of my close friend and got a good reward of beatings by bride's dad and brothers,😂 Today they have a wonderful married life.
You should have burnt Quran and leave Islam before marrying her to console her parents that she won't be converted later on? Quran and Islam prohibit a muslim man/girl from marrying a Hindu.
I also got married by special marriage act. But my experience was different.. we signed a notice and and after 3 months of giving the notice we got married to a registers office.. which went very smooth..

Even in traditional weddings invites are sent to people with the details. Wedding is not just a deal between two people, it is a social institution. Your family, relatives, friends need to know about your marriage.
@@MK-lh3xd wedding is a deal between two people in case of special marriage act marriage. In the document only the signature of the couple and two witness are present. My only advice for Loving couples is to value their promises and don't ruin other bonds in the process. But it can be nerve wracking if one has for example, run away and trying to get married

Christianity says Jesus is the only way for salvation
Islam says Shahada/kalma(azan,use for conversion to islam and core ideology) : la ilaha illallah muhammdur Rasulullah
Meaning : There is no god worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammed is his slave and messenger
This both statement are created to form a special category or tribe and thus are political..... Abrahamic religion are political ideology.......

But I have one question 😊 is there any exchange of 💍? Thanks
Hi dear thank you so much for the video i wanted to know was there any cross questions asked because of different faith marriage ? And how did you deal with the lawyer ?
Hi! I didn’t employ a lawyer, but they usually don’t cross question they just help you sort your document & applications. And no, nobody asked us anything intrusive questions or did anything to make us feel uncomfortable
Thank you dear ❤️
Sorry another question if we were to get married with Hindu rituals and at the church is it still mandatory for 30 day waiting period ? For the court marriage
@@snehayelandur9818 no worries :) yes - the court marriage process is independent of whatever else ceremony/program you have. So a 30 day waiting period is mandatory
@@SatshyaTharien thank you so much dear that is very helpful for us to plan out lots of love ❤️

Discuss about religion of your children prior to marriage
😊 fantastic as a agnostic I will suggest you to discuss the religion of the child in advance from the church you are gonna marry .
I think you shouldn’t marry interfaith. Hear me out first, marriage and family is an institution wherein you grow with your family as well so, point being each faith teaches certain things distinct from each other and preaches to live according to that principles so Hindu and Christian faiths are different hence, teachings different so, a good pool of Hindu men are also available for marriage as well go date Hindu man because at least punishment is severe if something wrong is done by him but under special marriage act the men can easily get away by saying this is the way things happen in our religion so choose responsibly.
Polygamy is not allowed in india.?..says who?
It's only allowed in Muslims marriage act.
@@andy8357 no in hinduism also its dort of allowed .that is the police can not file a case unless the women complain.if they are ok everything is ok
@@PhotonShowerIt's like saying there is a law for rape, but if the victim is not complaining then it's allowed. What a logic bro. Now relate this logic to your Hindu marriage act allowing polygamy. Does it make sense now ?
@@ez20mscool im talking about polygamy with consenting wives..have you heard about the legendary dancer raja reddy
@@PhotonShower ohh you're soo missing the point. In your previous comment you said that in Hinduism it is allowed. But Hindu marriage act does not allow polygamy. If the wife does not complain then how would the authority know about it. If my house is burgled and if I don't file an FIR do you think police will come and help me ? So hence burglery is allowed in India if one do not complain.
Note:- No one will send notice to your parental address. The notice will remain hanging on the notice board of the District Court for 30 days. So calm down guys.
Yup, spot on
Recently we tried to register in Chennai(its our work location)
But they have rejected as we belong to different state i.e Andhra Pradesh
They said as per Aadhar address we need to register in that place.
My doubt is we can register any where in Andhra or only in hometown of either of our address?
Can anyone explain me on this pleaseee
first of all, congratulations on getting married. 😃..... I was wondering if you knew the man who you stated who married a Muslim woman while being a hindu. that he spent 25k for the process by hiring the lawyer i too want the same lawyer😅

Hello,
Really nice video and useful content for Court Marriage procedure.
We are about to do our Court Marriage with Special Marriage Act 1984 in Delhi, but little curious about getting the exact format for Affidavit which you guys submitted to SDM. possible to share the affidavit photo by hiding your personal details over email or some place else ?
Thanks
Wat is religion of wife
Hi, I believe I have shared the format of the affidavit in the video. In any case, all SDM office notice boards have a sample format of the affidavits as well
Anyone plz help me out with the application form for special marriage to apply…i m not able to find
You can get it from official website

Islam and Christianity are religion (Abrahamic ) Hindusim is not a religion......it is Dharma....... we should understand and respect our roots.....it would be difficult for some people.....but it is the Truth.......we should all live and die for Bharat Mata....not for Allah and Jesus....hope you understand the importance of being Indian and not being from middle east culture/religion like Islam and Christianity......

just do a simple ceremony instead of running around court. I mean she needed to spend 2 days running around the court and such anxity and uncertainity. Instead they could just get married in simple ceremonies and then register it.
People of different faiths cannot get married with just a ceremony in India - that’s not considered a legal marriage :) one needs to solemnise their marriage under the Special Marriage Act and then can do whatever other ceremonies they like
Its impossible to pull two bulls with an unequal yoke.
You both should have equal beliefs on something or someone that keeps you pursuing on for life. If you both have different beliefs, both will fall. And this marriage will fail.
Abe jaa na yahase. Everyone is a human
bitchless?
How about both agree to be good humans and place humanity before anything else? So sorry your own marriage failed.
@activa 125 okay that's true, but you can't trust humans, you need to put your faith on someone or something of higher power.
