This just gave my 2006 Mazda another hope. After shifting from second to fourth and bouncing everywhere I changed the fluid. Nothing. Going to change the transmission solenoid. After that I’ll check this out. If all fails junkyard. I do love this little car. Smh
Hi. I did relocated tcm as you recommended last year and I must say did fixed tcm acting up. This year on first worm day 27'C started again. Worst thing is by the time car will cool down and I will take it to tech codes are gone and no tech can tell what the problem is.
Check for historic codes or maybe generic OB D2 might keep a record of them. Other option is stop by local auto parts while the code is on and have them pull the codes for you really quickly it’s normally free.
I'm getting the P0882 code on my 2017 Mazda CX-5. It's got just over 29,000 miles on it. It happens intermittently, goes into limp mode, but runs normally again if I turn it off and then back on. Could it be a similar situation to what you show in thus video?
It’s very well could be based on the fact that it is a heat related fault and that’s why moving it off of the transmission helps with that hopefully at this point it hasn’t done permanent damage some do some don’t it’s a tossup
Hey brother my 08 mazda 5 runs great shifts great, but after running for a few minutes its starts shifting in and our of gears jerking. The display starts changing like 3 5 R D and then it'll stop and start back up after few more miles. Was asking what yours did that make u get the a TCM and do u think this could be my issiue?
It very well could be the same thing the one in the video was having shifting issues and it seemed a lack power the motor was revving fine but it was almost as if it wanted to go to a lower gear and it wouldn’t
Did you add some sort of non conductive rubber/foam underneath the TCM so it won't short the electronic component inside after being mounted to the brake lines? I have a 2015 Mazda 5 and want to do the preventive measures like you did.
No that really isn’t necessary based on the construction of the housing for the TCM originally it’s bolted to the transmission itself so you don’t run into any issues with that and it’s grounds run through the wiring not to the housing
Hi, I'm getting the AT & Engine light on. Will this remedy both? Also, will changing the #8 position, 20 amp, heater deicer TCM fuse fix this as well at all?
Depending on what codes you’re getting it could help what you’re doing is getting it away from all the heat of the transmission I’m not sure about the fuses though I have an actually heard of that I’d be interesting to know what that’s trying to fix

I have a 2012 Mazda5 and recently started to get the AT light esporadicaly, I check the transmission gage and the fluid is black and stinks like if it was burned. Not sure what to do 😐
I would try it first to get it out of the hot zone but most likely if it’s not shifting after a certain point it might be too far gone but definitely try it and see if that helps you might still experience it on very hot days
Dis you have any issues prior to this hack? Or you did this so you wouldn't run into the overheating issue? Asking cause I'm getting the TC light on and engine light comes on and seems to skip a gear or so....pretty frustrated over here
This was actually my neighbors car he was having an issue that sounds very similar to yours by moving it I think it bought him a little bit more time about six months before his finally gave out completely which was just recent and he will be replacing it but putting it in the alternate location shown on the video
I am just going to wait until it fails and hope there is still a replacement part available. 180k no problems yet

No they should not do to the fact that they lack the TCM controller

TCM MODULE for my mazda premacy 5 is not located underneath the battery holder.

hi guys, my mazda5 2010 the transmission works only when it is cold, after 20 min the shift doesn't work at all, that can fix that problem?

What ECM do I order
It would be a TCM, not an ECM. Ecm is for your engine management not your transmission management.
