Searching for a video that addresses the window that will not go UP all the way, but instead gets within 1/2 inch of the top and then automatically rolls back down half-way -- have not found that. All the videos assume that you can roll the window up; none seem to address working with a window that won't do that. I reversed your technique on my car, and it fixed the problem, so thank you! Please consider doing a video on a window that won't roll up, and title it so that it's easy to find.
You saved me!! I was thinking to go to the Subaru workshop due my driver window got stuck.I did the 10 down and 10 up and then hold up for 10 seconds...now it is working fine. thank you so much!! This worked for a Subaru Tribeca 2009
Thank you very much, thats very helpful, I was hopeless, and one electrical guy told that the window motor has to be changed, but thankfully I found this video
Thanks for your help, it’s 8 degrees here today and the window would not close. Watched numerous videos and your video was the only one that fixed it. Cheers
Fixed the problem with my 2016 Outback where the passenger window would not stop at the top but return to the half closed position. The ten step up and down with the ten second hold at the closed position did the trick. Thank You!
I am very thankful for your video Jeremy! I spent $125 on a switch that made no difference on my driver's side window. The up 10/down 10 sequence you described is what finally got my driver's window switch to work. Thank you!
It worked! Thank you very much. I was about to order new motors and regulators. On one side I slammed the door twice while pressing down and that worked too.
This worked perfectly. Driver window started acting up and only going up and down an inch or so out of nowhere and right before I was going to bring it to the dealer I saw this video and in 20 seconds it is working fine again. I did the 10 down and 10 up and then hold up for 10 seconds...thank you so much!!
Just wanted to say thanks for the information provided in this video. Driver's side window in my Subaru Legacy had stopped working and the garage was telling me they'd need to replace the switch console. Following the video, the switch has now been reset and the window is working again.
Thank you! 2016 Subaru 2.5 Limited passenger window was stuck in the up position and wouldn't budge. Tried the 10 up, 10 down, 10 second up method and it works like a charm.
Absolute legend, just installed wind deflectors on 2011 forester and driver side window would bounce back thinking there was a blockage, did the 10 up 10 down trick and fixed it straight away Brilliant
If your window doesn't go up and stay up. First - roll it all the way down Second - go up and as it rolls up push slightly on the window and it will roll up all the way. Thank you and I have Venmo
My driver door window was acting funky. Wouldn't go all the way up. Then would only roll up 2 inches at a time. I did the reset from the driver switches, but on the front pass window. This fixed my driver window. Weird
Jeremy, why haven't your response to Tim Leinart concern? I have the same issue and needs help finding a fix for it. Thanks.1) Driver side power window auto up/down didn't work and you have to hold on the switch in order for the window to accent but afterward it only goes up 1" inch and a time which you have to press and release, press and release the switch inch by inch.
My Driverside window is stuck open all the way down. Wont go up. Its very cold and freezing. Any fix? Tried the switch on/off, I can see it is trying to close. If the glass was sticking out a little bit, I would try to close manualy, but no space to grab the glass to forcefully bring it up. Any fixes?
On my 2006 Forester all of a sudden, all my windows wont go up or down. The fuses are good. My driver side window is stuck all the way down the other ones are stuck all the way up. I'm in a bit of a pickle. ,, also the automatic lock button does not work either. Any suggestions helpful,
@Jeremy Yuen Cars, after the reset, can the driver control the window roll up and down automatically? I realized When I pressed the button for my back seat windows, the do not go down or up automatically. I have to hold on the button from my driver seat. I am reluctant to do anythingto my new car. I hope to hear from you, Sir. Thanks.
It’s my drivers window that’s not functioning. When it’s hot outside, the window won’t close. It rolls almost all the way then goes back down until half way. Only when it’s hot outside. All the other windows work fine. 🤷🏻♀️
If you have watched this video, the first technique he showed will solve your problem. I just fixed mine 5 min ago. According to what he said in the video, seems to be a safety sensor issue. that's why the window only goes up a bit at a time.
Had the same issue on my Subaru Outback 2018 - would only go up an inch at a time instead of auto up. The hold power window UP for ten seconds fixed the issue.
Respective fuses were replaced despite having NO SIGN of wear or damage 2017 Subaru Crosstrek: No Power to Lock and Windows Did the following - 3 sec hold - 5 sec hold - 10 sec hold - 10 clicks Up and Down On the Passenger Side To begin with the Passenger Window would not go down. All Windows are now stuck on the Up Position. Thanks th-cam.com/video/k5POs3DFDEM/w-d-xo.html
Al Castill I did, but turns out that wasn’t the issue ... I had my windows locked 😂 I wasn’t aware that newer cars don’t let you control the locked windows from the driver door as they did in older cars. So I had thought that my fuses were blown or something because even my buttons weren’t lit at night. Thank you for replying though and trying to help me out I was really frustrated.

Worked like a charm. You're the Man!
This is so helpful...like someone already said, you're a legend!

Thanks! My driver's and passenger's door wouldn't roll down at all, and this fixed them both
You sir just saved me 130 bucks. The owners manual is useless and poorly translated so thank you again!
Thumbs up, my man. Auto all the way up stopped working, no help in the manual. 10 up, 10 down restored it!
Nice one. The window wasn't going up and down automatically and this reset it. Thanks!
Worked like a charm. Thanks from the US.
Thank you SO much. I had the door liner off, checked power supply to the motor ok. Thought I was in for a motor replacement but this fixed it!
absolute madness, I can't believe this worked. thank you.

Mine is not working?

Good tips. How do I get a Subaru with push start (keyless) into ignition mode? to reset windows without starting the motor all the time.
Thank you so much, for helpful advice

What about the sunroof? It stops halfway and returns back to the open position unless you do multiple and brief presses
Jeremy I changed the driver side motor and now the automatic feature doesn't work.

What if your driver side window is stuck down? My issue is not the other windows.
Back window fixed, drivers window still not working. Followed instructions. Any ideas?

Hello,
you didn't indicate, if before this process, the car ignition should be on, or not .
It’s my drivers window that’s not functioning. When it’s hot outside, the window won’t close. It rolls almost all the way then goes back down until half way. Only when it’s hot outside. All the other windows work fine. 🤷🏻♀️
Hi, was wondering if you finally found out what the problem was. I also have the same issue

Did you ever get this fixed? and if so how?

Had the same issue on my Subaru Outback 2018 - would only go up an inch at a time instead of auto up. The hold power window UP for ten seconds fixed the issue.

My window on the driver side doesn’t go down at all. I live in the desert 🏜 it’s dry as burnt toast out here 🥵🌵S.O.S.
Tried it and now the car doesn’t start 🤦🏻♀️
Didn’t work for my 2017 Subaru Outback
