I used to be the guy taking is personally. After a while I started to realize how seriously it was affecting my play. After that, I started thinking “they’re in the same rank as me for a reason”, and my tilt decreased significantly. As much as some hate to admit it, the ranked system isn’t nearly as bad at placing players as the community makes it out to be. There isn’t going to be a major difference in skill level between 2 players of the same rank. The only time it’s true is in the extremely high end ladder, and that only applies when you’re talking pro players.

Just to preface this, I've been playing since OW1, 2017 to be exact, so I've noticed a lot of things that are different between the two. Mainly matchmaking and comp. Though they did say they were going to change matchmaking to make queue times faster, I would've preferred waiting for people in my skill range, bc this has resulted in less quality matches that are even in skill. I almost always have a feeding tank even if I spam the group up with me. I've also noticed that there's no middle ground, it's never an equal fight, and by that I mean there's a pattern of my team either gets steamrolled and it's a short match or occasionally my team does the steamrolling. Idk if comp matchmaking works the same as qp (skill range wise), but it's certainly not fun to either steamroll or be steamrolled. I miss the matches where it's was an even fight, even if you lost you didn't feel bad about it bc you were able to put up a good fight. Even winning now isn't great bc you just ran them over and won. EVERY SO OFTEN I'll get a game where it's pretty even match up, and I absolutely cherish those games 😂
I gotta say as a moira main, that damage orb buff was great in previous seasons but like this season its basically useless, ive been using only heal orbs the majority of the time, the heal is only good just to tap people, if youre trying to throw damage orb and heal people up, youre just gonna run out of heal juice before you make a start on healing them, the only time you should throw a damage orb is if you're actually gonna follow it up with damage, definitely not for healing. That said I am only a masters moira so, you know maybe the top 500 secret is actually that the opposite is true idk Also also people were not sleeping on her, I literally dont think i had anyone complain at me to switch moira, since season 9 so people obviously had started respecting her oppose to before that when I would get asked to switch a lot.
The advantage of throwing damage orb to farm is that you can farm while not having to follow the heal orb though. If you're playing footsies with the enemy team around a corner and you throw heal orb, if you throw it where it bounces between walls at your current position, they can just chase you past it. If you throw it into the enemy to move forward, maybe they ult and you have to let it fly away and fall back a bit. If you throw it back while backwalking, maybe your team gets a pick or two, then you have to push W away from it. Then you also have to deal with some people just not walking into the orb when they're low HP, and you don't have any juice to back it up with if they didn't.
The thing about rank and season 8 at the difference between season 9 we got the rank reset --> GM Players are need to fight in diamond with each other Real GMs will climb... Fake GMs will be in Diamond... It was nearly impossible to get the same rank like the season before although you played 10-0 (exception if you have a fucking high mmr) so we get a decay in the rank reset which nobody told us! LETS GO! NICE BLIZZARD!
That rank reset put me up from bronze 1 to plat 3, and iv held it strong with a 55-65% win rate the whole last 2 seasons. I don’t know why I’m not climbing even higher but I think it’s just unlucky matchmaking putting me on the favored team much more often

I'm happier being targeted by the enemy dps and dive tanks, desperately holding hp bars together than trying to solo tank in this game. My entire role was invalidated both rounds by some combination of factors, namely Sombra. Someone goes control, and the one player responsible for that role loses all value, and unless your team can carry that situation while you hold your dick with no cooldowns, you lose. It's sad, and I hate it.
2 days ago i won 12 matches in a row going from D4 around 30% to D2 around 80% just to loose 4 matches loosing around 45-50% each going back to D4 54% yes in 4 matches i lost everything i got in 12

I noticed the tank was gold 4 and was grouped with a support who had a private profile. The tank then left the group... but now it's too big of a rank difference to choose roles?! Then, the support left, and we could choose our roles finally. 💀💀💀💀 ( That support was either silver 3 or plat 1 ) It seems that even if you queue in a narrow group, it will match you with wide groups anyways. ( IDK for the enemy team )

I said “technically” for a reason because you can get a game where you are a higher MMR than your team and your average MMR is higher than the enemy team so “technically” the game expects you ton”carry.” You can also have a higher MMR than your team and the game expects you to lose. If you lose the matchmaker doesn’t say anything. If you win, you get “Uphill Battle” because torn team had a lower MMR average even if you were the best player in the entire lobby based on your MMR. One thing people need to understand that there is no performance based modifier in the current rank system. That is an old belief from early OW1 when that was the case. The system only cares about if you win or lose and how close the teams are MMR was.
