  • Maya Tz'utujil is the language of the Tz'utujil people in Guatemala. I got the chance to spend 4 weeks learning Tz'utujil at the local academy, but I also asked 30 or so people to teach me a word or phrase in their language. Hopefully you learned some Tz'utujil too!

💌 about me: my name is Elysse, I'm 22 years old from the southern U.S. I've been learning languages for about 8 years, and I speak English (native), Spanish (C2), German (B2/C1), Portuguese (B2), French (B1/B2), American Sign Language (advanced), and Turkish (A1). I'm interested in learning Hebrew, Chinese, Georgian, and maybe Náhuatl as well :)

It's so cool seeing you connect to the people und their way of living by talking to them in their indigenous language.

I really love your content! Not many people would travel to a different country just to learn a country’s local language. What you did in this video was very unique!
I would love to ask you more questions on how you reached a C2 level in Spanish. What’s a best way that I could contact you Elysse?
