- Simple Traffic Light Circuit using Two 555 Timer IC.
Components Required :
555 Timer IC x 2 Nos
100uf Capacitor x 2 Nos
100k Resistor
47k Resistor
390 Ohms Resistor x 2 Nos
330 Ohms Resistor
Breadboard
Connecting Wires

red yellow green, yellow, red, project is from red to green without yellow
For everyone whose lights are not operating properly, the circuit diagram has a problem. The resistor should be connected with the pin 3 of second IC and then the anode of green led. That is the mistake in the circuit. In the circuit diagram, resistor is connected to the ground at the end, which is wrong. Also I used 470 ohm with red led, 220 ohm with yellow led and again 220 ohm with green led.I hope it helps, best of luck.

Bro are the Resistors in Kilo or not?
@@prometheusn0ir its different. 2 resistances connected with the capacitor through pin 2 and 6 are in kilos, but other 3 are not.

Does the resistor need to be specific?
Here in the UK when going from red to green you have red and yellow together when going from red to green (Red > Red & Yellow together > Green). The other variant is if it's a pedestrian crossing, where it might be (Red > Flashing Yellow > Green)

For anyone that this circuit didn't work, try the following: instead of doing 1:00 from pin 4 to rail, try placing 4 to 8 on the same timer. I did this and the circuit suddenly started working.

Awww, it does not go back on yellow (nor dies the red and yellow together glowing, that a real trafick light would), it just cycles back to green!
Traffic lights dont use yellow before going to green. They only use yellow when going from green to red. At least in the united states… though there may be some state that uses the yellow light to transition to red or green i just don’t know about.
@@pikadroo Traffic lights switch from red to red and yellow, and then to green. The red and yellow phase is missing.
In the states it's like this video. Green > Yellow > Red > (repeat)

Please be careful when using a breadboard. It will create frequencies that will enter your body and cause damage.
Wrap either the breadboard or your body in tinfoil to block out the frequencies. You must be careful with frequencies.
The yellow phase between red and green is missing...
