- In this video, I show you how to use the fingerprint scanner for a door lock using arduino uno.
For making fingerprint door lock you need Arduino Uno, Adafruit fingerprint sensor and servo motor.
You can easily lock and unlock your door using this device.
You can insert up to 127 Fingerprint Id in this sensor to lock and unlock.

It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).

The battery is secondary power [backup] it has to be connected to a primary source of power : A power supply , 120 V with a transformer.

Just saying but arduino and project like these are around almost every school in USA. I agree that this is not easy to do but from my perspective and my experience with arduino project this is very easy.
Pretty much if u go to college or school where they have MESA program they have for sure will have arduino project. If not then they just dont have budget for it

Using a push pull solenoid is better than a motor.
I want to open the door faster.
Solenoid is not so complicated to program on arduino.
Yes solenoid is best for this idea
But solenoid take 5 or 10 seconds

@Creativity Buzz. Really cool idea. I'd like to suggest on going for a pneumatic actuator servo(for linear motion) than an rotational one. If you use the pneumatic actuator servo you can skip the use of the lengthy screw. If possible give a try on that.

You can probably find the library on Github somewhere but usually when you buy the fingerprint sensor it comes with a disk or instructions to tell you where to get the library. In this case it seems like it’s Adafruit fingerprint sensor :)
You can search it up on the project hub. They have over thousands of stuff in there

@@michelafernandamartinsfrei3697 if you're gonna have a fingerprint scanner as a lock on the outside of the door whats the point of having one on the inside lmao. Its a finger print scanner.....not a string lock
1. Using a battery is a good way to get locked out unless you use it as a backup for a power outage, so you don't. You use an outlet.
2. You program a button to re-lock it from the inside. The video was mostly an example for the locking mechanism.

A simple solution would be that, you can change battery from outside the home.
Some modifications with the designs are to be done.
So while leaving you can also take the battery with you and if it gets discharged you can buy a new one.
Battery le jao, key le jao....baat same hai bhai. Key is actually easier to carry....
It needs better & expensive Battery which can last for longer.
You can also buy a key...
But that's a door without the unlock thing.....So yeah..
But that's not cool ...

It's was only built for experiment. You can make real heavy commercial lock, but it will be difficult.
