If we use bc547 instead of 2222a then resistors will be same Resistance or Different. Do we need two or one bc547 transistor instead of 2222a transistor

Wow, hope i could reach to you. Let's see if you could give me some advice or point the direction where i could obtain more info. So, i have a race track, which i want to put something like this too it. This way the players know when it turn green to go. Butis there a way to setup the light with some type of board to control it. Let's say theres a gate in front of the cars and they can't go till the light turns green and the gate opens as well and now they could go. Any idea, where to find something like this?
