Looks like tons of work everywhere. The front axle assembly alone looks extensive
That giant red model A type truck is very nice.
I saw some Dutch FTF trucks and I remember those trucks from the 1980's and 1990's
from a company near my hometown in Holland.
W. van der Meijden&Zn from Kouderkerk a/d Rijn heavy transport was driving with big concrete cargo.
I just love the sound off a Detroit Diesel engine in those FTF trucks !!!
Sounds like an English Electric Class 55 Deltic Railway Loco.
Just a revving exhaust, gets a bit tiring. Floors throttle and nothing happens except white smoke from engine.
Yea,I don't get it. I was taught that wasn't good for the engine.
The undercarriage is off a Mk 1 Scania 4 Series.
way to much ground smoke
pipes up like a semi
12 feet up
Does anyone there know how to set the buffer screw for a perfect low idle. No self respecting GM Detroit mechanic would let that engine out of the workshop running like that!! and all that blue smoke, sounds like it is pulling in oil past the rings or blowers. The engine should be almost smokeless unless it is loaded up, then it might black smoke from too much fuel and not enough air. It's actually a 16v71 GM Detroit, not two V8s one behind the other. They are in fact two 8v engines joined front to front and totally separated apart from each other with a flexible coupling between the engines only at the crankshaft. No other connections - apart from controls etc. Impressive vehicle though. Sounds like it is running an Alison Automatic transmission and probably a 44,000 lb/ft rear end. Air brakes all round with air from a Westinghouse compressor. How am I going so far??
