Making this pie brought so many memories...My family is into the bakery and restaurant business and I just love experimenting with food. Aki shares a variety of authentic and/or updated versions of classic Greek/Mediterranean dishes (among others), and I'm extremely glad for it.
You are amazing! I've tried some of your recipes and have had great response from family and friends. The pita bread tasted just like the pita bread we ate with our Gyros in Greece! My husband was so impressed. Thank you!

Made the pie twice now, perfect recipe, easy to make and delivers on flovour. Flavours enhanced if eaten cold the next day. Have also made the vegan burgers. Will be trying other vegetarian recipes regularly. Love the TH-cam presentations Akis. Perfect for Grecophiles everywhere.
I'm making this tonight for supper tomorrow night (first parent home gets to put it into the oven) and I'm hoping that it tastes as good when prepared ahead of time

I live in the states too. Some specialty markets carry regular and thick. Jewel and Wal-Mart carry just regular.Like he said you can use either. Hope that helps.

Great recipe. I put filo pastry on bottom and puff pastry with butter on top. What a difference in flavor it is.

Yes it is either in the freezer section or in with the Pillsbury stuff
you can do it easily with the thin phyllo as well! no worries
