Great video Mr Scott, I'm still watching DMV so you must be talking about the Tramp because I haven't seen anything on him in a while, it's a shame that they mess with people like this.
One thing that I've seen on not just Evos, but Shovels and Twin Cams is the builder doesn't pay attention to the second compression ring and installs it upside down. They have a slight taper which must be oriented correctly and the function is to scrape oil down the cylinder as the piston travels down. If it's reversed, it scrapes the oil up into the combustion chamber.
@@scootertrampscotty Some don't have marks for the top. His point is a lot of people assume that you have two compression rings and a 3 piece oil ring. That's not the case you have an oil control ring which is the 3 piece ring and the second ring is the oil scraper ring. The only ring that is a compression ring is the top ring. The 3 piece oil control rings are not high tension. They just want to leave a thin film of oil on the cylinder wall for the second ring to remove. There's my two cents. Good luck and later.
I'd trust the blue bike with the simple carb and simple ignition over the red one down in Mexico. Hopefully the red one will get setup simple like the Blue one.
I never knew that the rings could lose tension due to excessive heat. It makes sense, but I never heard of it before. But , yes that rear cylinder does get hotter. Evos are the best.
You can also use a sand blaster to remove those gaskets, just make sure you use brake clean clean and blow compressed air through the cylinders after to clean the out
